About us
ClearBank was built on the belief that banking infrastructure should unlock progress, not slow it down. Our clients — from
fintechs and crypto platforms to banks and credit unions — use our API to power their banking infrastructure.
Our people power our technology and shape the way we work. We are a group of ambitious, collaborative people who challenge the
norm and believe in fairness, autonomy and choice. We empower people with the tools to learn, grow and contribute to our clients’
success.
About the role
You’ll join the Developer Experience team as an AI Enablement Engineer, helping ClearBank take the next step in how AI is used
responsibly and effectively across software engineering. We are already exploring meaningful AI usage across engineering; this
role is about helping turn that exploration into scalable, observable and well-governed engineering practice.
This is not a pure model-building role and it is not simply about giving engineers access to tools. You will help teams apply AI
in real delivery workflows, understand where it genuinely improves outcomes, and support the development of safe, practical
patterns that can be used across multiple teams.

it know more about you, your experience and how your skills align with the role (this will be via phone or Teams video call). You
can expect to hear back from us within seven days following this meeting (if things are taking longer than expected, we’ll let you
know that too);
First Interview: You’ll spend one hour with a member of our hiring team focusing on your skills, competencies and your ways of
working at the same time we’ll give you time to ask more questions about the role, the team and learn more about the ClearBank
culture. This will be via Teams.

reviewed and considered carefully.
We wish you the best of luck with your application and maybe we’ll be celebrating your new role at ClearBank soon!

About us ClearBank was built on the belief that banking infrastructure should unlock progress, not slow it down. Our clients — from fintechs and crypto platforms to banks and credit unions — use our API to power their banking infrastructure. Our people power our technology and shape the way we work. We are a group of ambitious, collaborative people who challenge the norm and believe in fairness, autonomy and choice. We empower people with the tools to learn, grow and contribute to our clients’ success. About the role You’ll join the Developer Experience team as a Senior AI Enablement Engineer, helping shape how ClearBank adopts, governs and measures AI across software engineering at scale. This role is for someone who can operate beyond individual tool usage and help define the platform, practices and controls needed for responsible AI-enabled engineering. You will work across multiple engineering teams to turn AI experimentation into scalable engineering capability. That means enabling adoption, creating practical standards, supporting AI platform thinking, and ensuring ClearBank can understand the real impact of AI on productivity, release cadence, quality and developer experience. You will be * Leading the development of responsible AI enablement practices across multiple engineering teams. * Helping define ClearBank’s approach to AI governance, auditability, observability, guardrails and engineering best practice. * Shaping how AI-assisted development, copilots, LLM-enabled workflows and agentic tooling are adopted in real delivery environments. * Partnering with Engineering, Security, Model Risk and wider stakeholders to balance innovation with appropriate control. * Helping establish meaningful measures of AI effectiveness, moving beyond anecdotal productivity claims. * Acting as a senior multiplier: coaching, influencing and enabling others while remaining hands-on where needed. * Contributing to platform-level decisions such as LLM gateways, model/provider usage patterns, evaluation approaches and safe workflow integrations. What you will be doing * Design and promote scalable patterns for applying AI within coding, testing, review, debugging, documentation, CI/CD and internal developer platforms. * Evaluate AI tools, models and workflows against practical engineering outcomes, quality, safety, cost, auditability and developer experience. * Help define observability for AI usage, including adoption, usage patterns, quality signals, controls and feedback loops. * Develop or influence guardrails that enable engineers to move quickly while keeping usage safe and auditable. * Frame and drive ambiguous AI enablement initiatives from discovery through rollout, adoption and continuous improvement. * Work across teams to identify friction, build practical guidance and create repeatable approaches that scale. * Support coherent investment decisions by sharing what works, where risks exist and where ClearBank should focus next. What we are looking for * Strong software engineering, platform engineering, DevEx or DevOps background, with evidence of influence across multiple teams. * Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering workflows and the ability to move beyond personal productivity into organisational enablement. * Experience designing, evaluating or operating platform capabilities that support engineering productivity, workflow integration or AI adoption. * Ability to reason deeply about LLM gateways or multi-provider patterns, observability, model/tool evaluation, guardrails and safe rollout. * Strong understanding of governance, security, risk or compliance considerations in regulated or enterprise environments. * Outcome-driven and evidence-based, with the ability to connect AI adoption to measurable engineering outcomes. * Strong stakeholder influence skills, including the ability to bring sceptical engineers and control partners on the journey. * Comfortable operating across ambiguity, setting direction and helping create structure where the answer is not yet obvious. * Regulated environment experience is highly valuable, particularly financial services, banking, payments, fintech or similar sectors. * Exposure to Azure, .NET or Azure DevOps is a useful advantage, but should not be considered a hard requirement. What we offer * Flexible working philosophy, empowering employees to manage their time in partnership with their line manager. * Spacious and well-equipped London office. * 27 days annual leave per year, plus flexible bank holidays. * Option to work abroad for up to 30 days in a rolling 12-month period. * Regular company-wide socials. * A couple of days per year to volunteer with a chosen charity. * Private healthcare and discounted dental cover, with healthy living perks and discounts. * Enhanced family-friendly leave. * The opportunity to join an innovative team building a bank fit for the future. Grow with the challenge At the time of inception, cloud-based systems and API fluency were new. But that didn't scare us. We waved goodbye to legacy systems and embraced modern technology – where our true innovation began and didn't stop. No hierarchy, no egos. Just a spirit of collaboration that flows right throughout our organisation – it’s woven into our DNA. We genuinely want to know about each other’s learnings and expertise, especially where it can help us achieve bigger things. At ClearBank, we make things happen. Awareness of the wider security landscape. * Be a motivated team player who is delivery focused and can suggest solutions as to how things can be done better. Nice to have: * Experience in a fintech environment or similar upscale organisation. * Experience working with AI security and governance and leveraging the latest technology to stay ahead of the attackers.
