This is a unique opportunity for a data scientist to work on multi-omics data to drive transformative insights into drug
discovery. As a member of the Cross Indication team, you will contribute to identifying and validating drug targets through
advanced data analysis and innovative computational approaches.
The Cross Indication team collaborates across both Relations internal and partnership programmes, applying state-of-the-art
computational methods to integrate diverse datasets. By combining biological insights with advanced data analytics, the team

THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist, Computational Biology to join Relation, working at the intersection of single-cell biology, spatial omics, and machine learning. In this role, you will apply advanced computational and statistical approaches to analyse high-dimensional biological datasets, generating insights that directly inform disease understanding and drug discovery. You will sit within the Single Cell & Spatial Omics function, working closely with ML researchers, experimental scientists, and software engineers to translate complex biological data into actionable knowledge. This is a highly collaborative, scientifically driven role, suited to someone who enjoys working deeply with data, challenging models with biological insight, and contributing meaningfully to interdisciplinary research programmes. DAY TO DAY, YOU WILL * Analyse and interpret single-cell, spatial, and other multi-omics datasets to uncover biological mechanisms relevant to disease and therapeutic intervention. * Develop and apply statistical and computational methods for transcriptomics and related omics data. * Use domain expertise to design rigorous evaluation tasks that test, challenge, and refine ML models. * Collaborate closely with ML scientists to inform model assumptions, features, and interpretation. * Work with experimental teams to help design experiments and validate computational hypotheses. * Clearly communicate insights, results, and methodologies to internal stakeholders and contribute to scientific publications. PROFESSIONALLY, YOU WILL HAVE * A PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, physics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field. * Strong experience working with high-dimensional biological data, including transcriptomics and other omics modalities. * Proficiency in Python, with experience in scientific computing and data analysis. * A solid understanding of statistical modelling and quantitative methods applied to biological data. * Experience with Bayesian models. Bonus experience * Hands-on experience with single-cell and/or spatial omics data, including patient-derived samples. * Familiarity with machine learning approaches used in biological or biomedical research. * Experience working in interdisciplinary teams spanning biology, data science, and ML. * Exposure to scalable computing environments. YOUR MISSION Engitix Therapeutics is a London-based biotechnology company unlocking the extracellular matrix (ECM) as a source of novel therapeutic targets for fibrosis and cancer. Our proprietary platform integrates proteomics, and transcriptomics data on patient tissue samples with rich clinical metadata to identify and validate targets in the tumour microenvironment and fibrotic tissue. We are seeking a Bioinformatician to join the Data Sciences team, supporting a diverse portfolio of internal and collaborative research programmes. The role will work closely with cross-functional teams across translational and computational biology, with a primary focus on fibrosis and oncology research. The successful candidate will contribute to the analysis and interpretation of complex multi-dimensional datasets, integrating clinical and molecular data to support research and therapeutic development across the portfolio. Working as part of a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary team, the role will support programmes focused primarily on fibrosis and oncology. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative, with strong scientific curiosity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering high-quality research. Key responsibilities: * Collaborate with Engitix scientists and external partners to design and implement analytical strategies, deliver biological insights and high quality data visualisations * Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to refine scientific questions, communicate analytical approaches and findings, and support decision-making across research programmes * Develop, maintain, and optimise scalable and reproducible bioinformatics analysis pipelines * Apply and develop analytical approaches for the integration, analysis, and interpretation of complex multi-modal biological and clinical datasets * Contribute to computational strategy and best practices in data management, reproducibility, documentation, and FAIR data principles * Support bioinformatics activities across a diverse portfolio of fibrosis- and oncology-focused programmes YOUR PROFILE In addition to strong communication, organisational, and time management skills, you will have: * A postgraduate degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative discipline with 3+ years experience working in industry or a demonstrated record of top-tier publications * Strong programming and scripting skills in R and Python * Previous experience of performing bulk transcriptomics analysis and at least one of:- * Single-cell and/or spatial transcriptomics * Molecular imaging and spatial proteomics * Multi-omics integration and analysis * Strong foundation in statistics and/or machine learning, with experience applying methods such as regression, classification, clustering, dimensionality reduction, and survival analysis * Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional research environment * Experience supporting translational research programmes in fibrosis or oncology, desirable in IBD * Experience collaborating with external partners or working in multidisciplinary project teams Desirable experience: * Experience applying modern AI/ML methods to complex biological or biomedical datasets * Familiarity with quantitative proteomics and mass spectrometry-based technologies(e.g. LFQ and TMT) * Experience working with cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS) and workflow management systems (e.g. Nextflow) WHY US? * Be part of a motivated, dynamic team supporting cutting edge drug discovery * Constant opportunities to learn, grow, and explore the many opportunities for data science to have impact on drug discovery and development * State of the art offices at The Westworks, White City London * Competitive reward package including private medical insurance, bonus, pension, and much more!

THE OPPORTUNITY Relation is offering an outstanding opportunity for a Data Scientist to support computational drug discovery and drug-ability efforts focused on antibodies. You will work closely with external deep learning–driven antibody design platforms to critically evaluate generated candidates, extract insights, and integrate learnings into internal discovery strategies. DAY TO DAY, YOU WILL * Support computational antibody discovery and drug-ability efforts across research programmes. * Work with internal and external teams to evaluate and interpret computationally generated antibody candidates. * Contribute computational and structural biology expertise to multidisciplinary project teams. * Help extract insights from sequence, structural, and modelling data to inform discovery decisions. * Collaborate with machine learning and experimental scientists to support ongoing research activities. * Contribute to the development and refinement of internal computational discovery strategies and workflows. PROFESSIONALLY, YOU WILL HAVE * A PhD in computational biology, structural bioinformatics, computational structural biology, or a related field; or a Master’s degree with equivalent industry experience. * 0–2 years of experience in biotech, pharma, or a relevant postdoctoral environment. * Experience with computational approaches for antibody design and development. * Antibody sequence and repertoire analysis. * Structural modelling of antibodies and antibody-antigen complexes. * Computational protein engineering and affinity optimisation. * Machine learning and generative modelling for antibody design. * Developability and biophysical risk assessment. * Knowledge of Python as a programming language. * Understanding of the drug discovery process.
