In this role, you will serve as a key member of the consultancy team, working closely with and supporting the Director of Corporate and Sustainability Communications, as well as the broader SCC division. Your key responsibilities will include: * Strategic Client Advisory: Support the delivery of strategic solutions to address complex corporate communications and sustainability challenges for our clients. * Regulatory & Reporting Guidance: Advise clients on upcoming and evolving sustainability and governance regulations. Act as a reliable point of contact for clients on these shifting landscapes. * Research & Benchmarking: Conduct comprehensive reviews of client communications, including peer benchmarking, gap analyses, and landscape research. Maintain and collect data for our annual reporting database. * Report Strategy & Copywriting: Assist in designing the structure, pagination, and narrative flow of annual and sustainability reports. Contribute directly to the copywriting of these key corporate documents. * New Business & Pitching: Actively participate in the business development and pitching process, from initial research and strategic formulation to final pitch delivery. * Thought Leadership: Contribute to the team’s external profile by conducting research, writing insightful articles, and contributing content to our team newsletter, Full Spectrum. * Service Development: Collaborate on the development of new internal service offerings to help expand the remit and capabilities of the SCC team. ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, you should possess: * Sustainability & Governance Knowledge: A strong grasp of key sustainability frameworks and regulations, specifically TCFD, CSRD, GRI, and ISSB. An understanding of broader strategic and governance standards is essential. * Audit/Accounting Background: A background in or familiarity with the audit and accounting regulatory environment is highly preferred. * Exceptional Communication & Writing Skills: Outstanding writing, editing, and copywriting skills, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling corporate narratives. * Client Engagement & Presentation Skills: Proven experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to build trust and confidently develop and deliver presentations to both internal and external stakeholders. * Problem-Solving & Collaboration: A collaborative, professional, and team-oriented mindset. Key Responsibilities Strategic & Project Direction * Strategic Blueprinting (Ownership & Support): Autonomously drive the strategic phase on mid-to-large projects, and support Strategy Directors on massive global assignments—translating client business challenges into sharp, actionable brand foundations and creative briefs. * Strategy-to-Creative Synergy: Bridge the gap between logic and magic. Relationship Management & Growth * Client Relationship Building: Cultivate trusted, day-to-day working relationships with brand managers and senior marketing stakeholders within client organizations. * Growth Support: Support pitches and new business initiatives by preparing pitch materials, conducting competitive landscape research, and presenting strategy modules with confidence. Leadership & Collaboration * Mentorship & Psychological Safety: Act as a supportive mentor to Junior and Mid-level Strategists, fostering a motivating, and collaborative team culture. About the role We’re looking for a Senior Strategist based in our Shanghai studio, to support Strategy Directors with research and insights and to work closely with the creative team to develop inspiring briefs that shape world-class work. You’ll work across the full spectrum of strategy projects – positioning, naming, brand architecture, communications and more, executing our brand philosophy and ideas within the agency and to clients. About you You will already have worked in a similar role for around 4–6 years, with a range of brand strategy experience for clients in China.
