The Opportunity
As a Data Engineer within our BST GI Analytics & Data Platform organization, you will be the core builder of the data pipelines that power Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration (GI) business.
In this role, you will turn architectural blueprints into reality. You will develop, optimize, and maintain the robust backend data flows and interfaces that move raw data into our data warehouse environments, making it ready for advanced analytics and BI applications. Working within a structured, collaborative team, you will ensure our data infrastructure is highly reliable, scalable, and fully compliant with internal process guidelines and global data regulations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Build & Optimize Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain reliable, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data flows that integrate disparate data sources into a unified data warehouse environment.
Implement Architectural Blueprints: Collaborate closely with our Data Platform and Analytics Architects to build backend data structures, data marts, and schemas that meet high-performance standards.
Ensure Data Quality & Integrity: Write clean, optimized code and data validation routines to enforce Master Data alignment, data validity, and seamless interface management.
Maintain Service Excellence: Proactively monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot data processing issues, and resolve service requests utilizing our internal ITIL-based ticketing systems.
Follow Process & Regulatory Standards: Ensure all code deployments, data processing routines, and environments strictly follow internal PPS (Project Power System) guidelines and global data privacy and security standards.
Your Background
Data Engineering Experience: Proven track record as a Data Engineer or Backend Data Developer within an enterprise-scale data warehouse or cloud data platform environment.
Pipeline & Coding Mastery: Proficiency in data integration tools, SQL, and programming languages relevant to modern data orchestration (such as Python / Scala for Spark ).
Data Modeling & Architecture Familiarity: Solid understanding of data warehouse methodologies, dimensional modeling, and managing complex data interfaces.
Process & Support Discipline: Experience working within structured project environments using PPS guidelines (or equivalent gate models) and ITIL/ITSM processes for operational support.
Collaborative Problem Solver: Excellent technical execution skills paired with a collaborative mindset, allowing you to work smoothly across a dual-discipline team of architects, developers, and BI analysts.

The Opportunity As the Data Platform Architect within our BST GI Analytics & Data Platform organization, you will be the chief architect behind the future of Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration (GI) data landscape. In this strategic role, you will design, scale, and govern the unified data platform that fuels our advanced analytics, business intelligence, and digital transformation initiatives. You will work hand-in-hand with the Team Manager for Analytics & BI to translate complex business demands into robust, modern data infrastructure. This role requires a balance of high-level technical vision and rigorous discipline, ensuring our platform is scalable, high-performing, and tightly aligned with internal corporate frameworks and global data regulations. How You’ll Make an Impact Design the Data Architecture: Define the blueprint for our data platform, establishing scalable, resilient, and reusable data flow architectures that span from backend data warehouse storage to frontend analytical layers. Bridge Strategy & Technology: Partner closely with the Team Manager and business stakeholders to understand emerging data needs and design the infrastructure required to support them.
