We are looking for a passionate and experienced Automation/Electrical Engineer to join our HiL/EGSE Engineering Team in Munich.
You will contribute to the design, development, and integration of complex Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) platforms, supporting the
verification and validation of avionics and electrical subsystems.
These platforms are composed of hundreds of electrical and electronic components (both COTS and custom-made) and must meet CE
marking and Machinery Directive compliance. Your work will have a direct impact on the performance, reliability, and safety of
critical aerospace systems.

To support this ambitious goal, we are seeking a Senior Test Application HW/SW Developer to join our Electrical Functional Test Team in Munich. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and integration of automated test software applications used to validate electronics at various levels — from individual boards to full subsystems — across our verification and validation campaigns. You will play a key role in shaping the test automation framework used on our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) platforms, working in close collaboration with electrical, avionics, and system engineers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES In your role as Senior Test Application HW/SW Developer , you will: * Design, develop, and maintain test automation software for board-level, equipment-level, and subsystem-level testing * Define and implement hardware and software architectures tailored to specific test scenarios and HiL environments * Develop LabVIEW-based applications, for both desktop and real-time platforms (e.g., PXI, cRIO) * Integrate and configure NI VeriStand as part of real-time test setups * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software into functional test platforms * Support test execution, data acquisition, logging, and automated reporting * Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture specifications, code documentation, and user guides * Provide support for debugging, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of test platforms YOU AND YOUR TEAM WILL BE IN CHARGE OF: * Developing a robust and scalable test software framework supporting reuse and modularity across projects * Implementing real-time data handling and I/O configuration through NI hardware and LabVIEW RT * Defining test automation workflows using NI TestStand and integrating them into the system test process * Coordinating closely with electrical and system engineers to ensure requirements traceability and test coverage * Contributing to the continuous evolution of our HiL infrastructure, with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability * Ensuring all solutions meet space-grade quality and safety standards, aligned with project requirements MUST-HAVE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field * Proficiency in LabVIEW, including desktop and real-time application development * Hands-on experience with NI VeriStand in real-time test environments * Familiarity with NI TestStand for test automation and execution management * Solid understanding of test platform architectures, hardware/software integration, and real-time systems * Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, with a structured and methodical approach * Experience working with LabVIEW FPGA is appreciated * Ability to write and integrate Python scripts to extend test workflows or support automation tasks * Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills * Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines, drive initiatives, and deliver in a high-paced environment Why you should join us! To support this mission, we are looking for a Custom Emulator Electronics Engineer to join our Electrical Functional Test Team in Munich. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, validation, and deployment of custom electronic hardware used within Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL), EGSE, and spacecraft verification environments. You will develop electronic systems that accurately emulate spacecraft equipment, sensors, actuators, electrical loads, and communication interfaces, enabling robust and automated testing throughout the product development lifecycle. You will work closely with avionics, software, systems, AIT, and test engineers, taking ownership of electronic developments from concept definition through schematic design, PCB layout, prototype validation, firmware development, and deployment into operational test environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES In your role as Custom Emulator Electronics Engineer, you will: * Design and develop custom analog and digital electronic hardware used to emulate spacecraft subsystems, sensors, actuators, power interfaces, and communication buses. * Develop signal conditioning circuits, interface electronics, load simulators, fault injection systems, and custom test equipment for verification activities. * Own the complete hardware development lifecycle, from requirements capture and architecture definition through schematic design, PCB layout, manufacturing support, bring-up, validation, and release. * Design multi-layer PCBs using Altium Designer (or equivalent ECAD tools), ensuring robustness, manufacturability, and maintainability. * Develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers and custom electronic platforms supporting emulation, control, monitoring, and automated testing functions. * Perform hardware debugging, root-cause analysis, and troubleshooting activities using laboratory instrumentation. * Define and execute validation and characterization campaigns for newly developed electronic systems. * Support integration of custom electronics into HiL and EGSE platforms. * Collaborate with software and automation engineers to implement scalable and automated test solutions. * Produce technical documentation, test reports, design reviews, and manufacturing packages in accordance with engineering best practices. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of test infrastructure, emulation capabilities, and engineering processes. MUST-HAVE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field. * Minimum 2 years of professional experience in electronic hardware development, test equipment development, embedded electronics, industrial automation, aerospace, automotive, or a comparable industry. * Strong experience in analog and digital circuit design. * Proven experience developing custom electronic hardware from concept through production and validation. * Experience with signal conditioning circuits, interface electronics, measurement systems, or electronic test equipment. * Strong proficiency with ECAD tools, preferably Altium Designer. * Experience in schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and manufacturing support. * Practical experience with embedded systems and microcontroller-based designs. * Ability to develop and debug embedded firmware in C/C++ or similar languages. * Hands-on experience using laboratory instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, power supplies, and multimeters. * Experience performing board bring-up, debugging, verification, and troubleshooting. * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously on multidisciplinary projects. * Good communication skills and fluency in English. You will be responsible for the assembly, integration, maintenance, and modification of electrical test systems used throughout the development, verification, and validation of spacecraft subsystems and avionics equipment. You will play a key role in building and maintaining custom test racks, integrating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom-designed hardware, and supporting engineers during test campaigns. Working closely with electrical, avionics, and system engineers, you will help ensure our test infrastructure meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
