The Role: We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to be the bridge between F2's platform and the real-world complexity of our most important enterprise clients. You'll embed with strategic Private Credit customers, get deep on their data, workflows, and infrastructure, and build custom solutions that makes F2 indispensable to how they operate. This is a hands-on engineering role: you write production code, you ship it and you see your work create value in days, not quarters. You'll spend the majority of your time in the field with customers, then bring what you learn back to our core engineering and product teams to make the platform better for everyone. It's the ideal role for an engineer who wants to combine deep technical work with direct customer impact, and who's excited to learn a modern AI stack end-to-end. What you'll do: * Embed with strategic accounts. Sit with our top enterprise clients to deeply understand their domain, data sources, security requirements, and analyst workflows and then translate those into concrete technical solutions. * Build custom integrations and solutions. Write production code on top of F2's platform: connectors to customer data rooms and document management systems, ingestion pipelines, workflow automations, and domain-specific features tailored to each client's needs. * Own the technical relationship. Act as the trusted technical partner for the customer's team throughout the engagement; from initial deployment and configuration through production rollout and optimization. * Prototype, validate, ship. Move fast: build a prototype, put it in front of the customer, iterate on real feedback, and get it into production through our CI/CD pipelines while meeting our engineering standards. * Generalize back into the platform. Return from engagements and work with core engineering and product to turn one-off customer solutions into reusable abstractions and platform capabilities that scale across our entire customer base. * Be the voice of the customer. Bring hard-won field insights back to the roadmap, championing the features and integrations that solve real enterprise problems. * Work alongside core engineering. Participate in shared code review, architecture discussions, you're a full member of the engineering org, not a siloed services team. What you bring: * Hands-on full-stack or backend engineering. 3+ years shipping production software, ideally with Python and/or TypeScript. You're comfortable owning a feature end-to-end across an unfamiliar codebase. * Customer-facing instincts. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you enjoy being in the room with customers translating ambiguous requirements into working software. * Pragmatic and fast. You prototype, validate, and ship in days and weeks, not months. You'd rather get something real in front of a customer than perfect a diagram. * Comfort with cloud and infra fundamentals. Working familiarity with AWS, containers, CI/CD, and Postgres/SQL. Experience with Temporal, Redis, and LLM tooling is a strong plus. * Integration mindset. Experience building connectors, APIs, or ETL/data pipelines against messy real-world data sources and enterprise systems. * Security awareness. You understand why enterprise clients care about tenant isolation, least-privilege access, and data handling, and you build with those constraints in mind. * Builder's curiosity. You enjoy learning a new domain (private markets / finance) and a full AI application stack, and you thrive in a 0→1 environment where you own outcomes.
ABOUT OUTTAKE Outtake exists to empower and facilitate trust for a digital-first world. Today, impersonation, fraud, AI-driven scams, and identity abuse spread faster than any security team can respond to. So we built something different: an agentic AI platform that proactively detects, monitors, and takes down impersonators, automating protection in hours, not weeks. Built by ex-Palantir, ex-CTO/founders, and ex-Notion engineers, Outtake is designed for clarity, autonomy, and velocity. Our goal is ambitious: become the trust layer of the modern internet. And we intend to do it with a lean, dense, exceptionally talented team. Outtake is backed by top-tier investors and operators who believe in our mission and our model. With strong financial footing and a long runway, we prioritize creating an environment where people can do the best work of their careers. THE ROLE This is a product engineering role in the strongest sense of the term. You work close to customers. We believe customer proximity is a competitive advantage. Engineers talk directly to customers, join calls, and participate in tight feedback loops. Forward-deployed work is part of the job - not as support, but as the fastest path to product insight. You shape what we build. Engineers here don't wait for fully formed specs. If you see a problem worth solving, you're expected to make the case, design the experiment, and build the v0. Good product judgment is valued as highly as clean execution. You ship across the stack. You'll work wherever the problem is - backend systems processing TBs of internet-scale data, frontend workflows that make complex analysis feel intuitive, agent frameworks that automate what used to take weeks of manual work. Titles matter less than ownership. You operate with clarity and focus. Mondays we align. Fridays we retro. In between, you're trusted to prioritize what matters most - while staying sharp to signal from customers and the market. THE TEAM "The team you build is the company you build." — Vinod Khosla You'll work alongside engineers from Palantir, Notion, Meta, Microsoft, Slack, and Datadog. Several have founded startups. But credentials aren't the point. This team cares deeply about craft, slope, and truth-seeking. People pair on hard problems, challenge each other in code review, and give direct, thoughtful feedback in 1:1s. Mentorship is intentional, not accidental - you'll learn faster here because the bar is high and the coaching is real. We're building Outtake to be a long-term network of builders: people who go on to lead teams, start companies, and back each other over decades. The goal is simple - working here should make you meaningfully better. YOU This role tends to excite people who've built something from scratch and want to do it again - with better tools, sharper teammates, and real distribution. You might be a fit if: * You've shipped products that users actually used - and at least one that failed, and you understand why that mattered * You ramp quickly, thrive in ambiguity, and have a strong bias to action * You care deeply about why something is being built, not just how * You understand what success looks like for the customer and the business, not just the code * You've done some form of forward-deployed or customer-embedded engineering and found it energizing If you need a roadmap handed to you, this won't be a fit. If you want to help write the roadmap, you'll feel at home. Bonus if you've: * Founded something (even if it didn't work) * Worked in forward-deployed or customer-embedded roles * Built with agents, LLMs, or large-scale data systems WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE What will you have shipped by month 6 that customers are asking about by name? The engineers who thrive here tend to find a problem early - something they heard on a customer call, noticed in the data, or couldn't stop thinking about - and make it theirs. Within a few months, they've built something real: a detection capability that catches what we were missing, a workflow that cuts hours of manual work, a system that makes the next ten features possible. By month 12, you're not waiting for direction. You're the person others come to for a specific problem space. Customers know your work. Teammates trust your judgment. And you've shaped what Outtake builds next. WHY OUTTAKE If you're choosing between us and another AI startup: * Foundation models are infrastructure. We're building what people actually use to stay safe. * The impact is immediate and real - attacks stopped, fraud prevented, threats caught that humans miss. * The company is working: real customers, real revenue, real momentum. * The people are exceptional - not just in pedigree, but in how they think and build. * The network compounds: your teammates become future founders, collaborators, and references. * The upside is meaningful. Equity reflects impact, not title. LIFE AT OUTTAKE * Office: For those in NY, we are an in-person team (5 days a week, with flexibility as needed) working out of a stunning waterfront office in Brooklyn. Collaboration, speed, and clarity matter. * Health: 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision for employees. * Time Away: Flexible PTO. We trust adults to manage energy, not clock time. * Culture & Team: Annual company retreats and regular in-person events. Outtake is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive team.
We’re Scan.com, the digital health scale-up making diagnostics accessible, fast, and transparent. Our technology speeds up diagnoses for timely treatments, improving healthcare outcomes for hundreds of patients each day. We're doing diagnostics differently, with solutions tailored to both patients and providers, all backed by our technology and world-class customer operations team. Our B2C marketplace simplifies booking a scan, making it as straightforward for patients as booking a hotel. Our B2B platforms provide live scheduling at the point of care and harness AI to ease workflows for physicians, attorneys, and providers. We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager at an exciting time. We've successfully launched multiple platforms and products, raised over $100M in VC funding, reached profitability, and have a growth trajectory of over 100% YoY. WHAT YOU WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED IN We are a small, high-output team building across a complex technical surface: consumer marketplace, provider-facing scheduling tools, interoperability infrastructure, revenue cycle tooling, and AI-augmented workflows. We don't scale headcount to scale output. We scale leverage through AI-native development practices, tight feedback loops, and engineers who own outcomes rather than tickets. As Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional engineering team and remain a hands-on contributor. We expect roughly 30% of your time to be spent writing code, reviewing architecture, or directly shaping technical decisions. This is not a role for someone who wants to move fully into management. It's a role for someone who finds that combination energising. You will report to our CTO and partner closely with Product, Operations, and Data to ship the systems that run our business. You are expected to be genuinely AI-native: not just comfortable with AI tooling, but actively shaping how your team uses it. That means deploying agents, building evaluation frameworks, and coaching engineers to work at a level of throughput that wasn't possible two years ago. As a scale-up business, you can expect your role to develop over time. Here are some of the types of things you could be getting involved in: * Lead and develop a team of engineers across multiple product domains, owning velocity, process, performance, technical growth, and team culture * Remain a consistent technical contributor by writing production code, leading design reviews, and pairing with engineers on complex problems. * Define and enforce engineering standards across code quality, system design, testing discipline, deployment practices, and incident response * Drive the team's AI-native operating model by identifying where AI agents can replace or accelerate engineering workflows, building evaluation frameworks to measure output quality, and coaching engineers to leverage AI tooling as a primary development instrument rather than an occasional aid * Partner with Product to refine roadmaps, push back on scope where necessary, and ensure the team is working on the highest-leverage problems at any given time * Own the architecture of your team's systems by making build vs. buy decisions, managing technical debt deliberately, and ensuring the stack can support the growth trajectory of the business * Contribute to Scan.com's broader engineering culture through interview loops, cross-team design reviews, engineering all-hands, and the institutional knowledge that makes a small team punch above its weight THE TOP 5 THINGS WE WANT YOU TO ACHIEVE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR * Team command and trust. Within 90 days, your team has a clear understanding of expectations, a functioning operating rhythm, and confidence that you are both technically credible and invested in their growth. Engineers on your team are shipping more and learning faster than before you arrived. * AI-native team operating model in production. You have assessed the team's current AI tooling practices, identified the highest-leverage gaps, and implemented a repeatable framework across agents, evals, and development workflows that measurably increases throughput without degrading quality. * Technical ownership. You have a complete grasp of the systems your team owns: their architecture, observability, failure modes, scalability constraints, and debt profile. You have a prioritized plan for the most critical improvements and have begun executing against it. * Meaningful individual contribution. Your 30% contributor commitment is real and visible. You have shipped production code, driven at least one significant architectural decision, and demonstrated to your team that you can still do the work. * Organizational trust. Product, Operations, and Data treat you as a peer. You have built the credibility to push back on scope, advocate for technical investment, and represent Engineering in cross-functional prioritization with authority. You are the go-to person for sequencing within large initiatives. WHAT YOU MIGHT BRING TO THE TABLE You don't need to tick all the boxes to apply for this role. Whether it's your first role or your fifth, we believe everyone can add value, learn, and grow. However, these might be some of the ways you are currently adding value: * Proven experience managing and growing engineering teams in a startup environment. You have operated with limited resources, changing priorities, and a high bar for individual output, and you have thrived in that context. * Genuine AI-native fluency: you have deployed AI agents in production engineering workflows, you understand evaluation frameworks and can design them for non-trivial tasks, and you have coached teams to use AI as a primary tool rather than a novelty. Candidates who cannot speak concretely to this will not be competitive * Active technical contributor with strong engineering fundamentals. You write production-quality code in at least one modern backend or full-stack language, can lead a system design discussion at a senior level, and have not been out of the code for more than a year * Experience in a scaling healthcare technology company is a strong plus. Familiarity with the regulatory environment, interoperability constraints, and the operational complexity of healthcare delivery meaningfully shortens the ramp * Strong cross-functional instincts: you have partnered effectively with Product and Operations, understand how to negotiate scope without burning relationships, and can represent technical constraints to a non-technical audience without losing fidelity * A track record of growing engineers. ICs on your previous teams have been promoted, expanded their scope, and credited you with material development in their careers * High ownership orientation: you do not wait to be asked, you do not manage up problems without a proposed path forward, and you treat the business outcomes of your team's work as personally yours HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU We keep our interview process short and sweet, and we're a nimble team that can progress at pace. Here are the stages you can expect, but we might switch up the order depending on team availability: * Introductory call with our Senior Talent Partner, approximately 30 minutes by phone. * Video call with a senior software engineer on the team, approximately 45 minutes, structured deep-dive into the role and technical domain. * Assessment stage, which may be a take-home exercise, in-person session, or additional video calls. We will be mindful of your time. * Meet the founders and/or other team members. * Offer! BENEFITS We go beyond the basics with our benefits package. Here's what you can expect from us: * Competitive salary range, plus performance bonus and equity * 401k * Healthcare, Vision, and Dental * All equipment needed to do your role effectively * Flexible and remote/hybrid working options * Personal development budgets * 18 days PTO plus public holidays * 10 paid sick days * Inclusive policies designed by our team, for our team Diversity at SCAN.COM Scan.com is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity within our team. We strive to provide equality and fairness for all job applicants and employees, and never discriminate on the basis of gender, marital status, age, race, ethnicity, religion, or physical differences. We are opposed to all forms of unlawful treatment and discrimination. Our ambition is for our team and its Board to be representative of the diversity in society, and for every employee to feel respected and able to bring their best selves to work.
