We’re hiring a Senior Corporate Development Manager to help shape Legora’s long-term growth through strategic partnerships and
acquisitions. You’ll sit close to the executive team and operate at the center of some of the company’s most consequential
decisions - build, buy, or partner - with a mandate to turn strategy into action.
This is a senior, high-impact role with real ownership. You’ll lead complex, cross-functional work end to end, influence product
and market strategy, and help define Legora’s trajectory as we scale.
You’ll work closely with Legora’s leadership to identify, evaluate, and execute the opportunities that matter most for our
long-term growth. From early strategic thinking to deal execution and integration, you’ll own the full lifecycle and help align
teams around a clear strategic direction.

The Role As a Commercial Counsel you will play a central role in supporting one of the fastest-growing legal technology companies globally. You will work closely with our commercial teams, advising on a broad range of matters with a primary focus on drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. This role requires a high degree of independence and the ability to operate across multiple time zones, partnering closely with stakeholders to enable deals while managing risk. Legora’s legal function is a forward-deployed, AI-first team working across multiple jurisdictions and legal disciplines. We act as trusted partners to the business, with particular focus on product development, operations, and commercial initiatives. Beyond strong legal judgment, we value curiosity, problem-solving, and a proactive mindset — looking for pragmatic solutions as we help redefine how legal work is done globally. What You'll Do * Act as a commercial legal partner to the business, working closely with senior stakeholders in Growth, Operations, and Procurement on customer and supplier engagements. * Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of customer and supplier contracts, with a strong focus on closing deals efficiently and pragmatically. * Advise on commercial risk allocation, pricing structures, liability, and contractual protections within customer and supplier agreements. Support go-to-market and procurement activities by enabling scalable, repeatable commercial contracting practices. * Address data protection and compliance considerations primarily within the context of customer and supplier contracts, ensuring risks are appropriately managed without slowing execution. * Develop and maintain commercial templates, playbooks, and guidelines to standardise negotiations and improve deal velocity. What You Bring * J.D. (or equivalent) with admission to practice in at least one U.S. state (or another common law jurisdiction). * 5+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or as an in-house legal counsel. * Strong experience negotiating B2B SaaS agreements and supporting commercial teams. You’re an excellent negotiator. * Strong legal judgment and confidence in making decisions independently. * Experience in handling corporate matters and drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements. * Experience with data privacy matters, IT security and/or corporate law is a plus. * Your focus is on achieving meaningful business outcomes, translating into actionable advice delivered clearly and comprehensively. * You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic entrepreneurial environment and rapidly evolving business setting. THE ROLE As Sr. Director, Legal Innovation (Corporate Legal), you'll be a senior voice for Legora in the corporate and in-house legal community — representing the company in the field, advising legal departments on how to adopt AI well, and helping shape where the business of in-house legal is going. The role pairs public thought leadership (panels, forums, published analysis) with substantive project work, including building practical ROI frameworks for in-house legal teams alongside our Value Engineering function. It's a high-visibility, build-it role for someone with a strong point of view on the future of corporate legal. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Represent Legora across panels, industry forums, and the legal-innovation community, with a focus on in-house and corporate legal teams. * Advise customers' innovation and knowledge teams on AI transformation — strategy, rollout, AI policy, and measures of success. * Partner closely with the VP of Legal Innovation & Strategy and serve as a senior Legora voice across speaking, content, and executive advisory. * Own special projects — most immediately, partnering with Value Engineering to build out ROI frameworks for in-house legal teams. * Publish analysis that moves the market narrative. WHAT YOU BRING * 7+ years in a legal-innovation, legal-operations, outside-counsel-management, knowledge, or strategy role at a corporate legal team, top law firm, or legal-tech company. * Genuine fluency in how legal organizations operate and make decisions — the economics and psychology of legal leadership, not just the tooling. * Executive presence with GCs, CLOs, CIOs, and innovation leaders, and the ability to translate across legal, business, and technical audiences. * A strong, demonstrated public point of view — through writing and conference speaking. As the business scales toward 1,500 people, the corporate functions supporting that growth are expanding fast across finance, people, legal, and operations. G&A at Legora is being built at the same pace as every other part of the business, in a company that has expanded into a dozen new markets in under two years and isn't slowing down. The people you'll partner with are senior leaders who are deeply invested in building their functions well and will expect the same from you. Based in New York, you'll lead G&A recruiting globally, managing a team across the US and Europe and working closely with the CFO, VP People, VP Operations, General Counsel, and CIO from day one. You'll manage managers and be accountable for everything the function produces. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Lead and develop a team of G&A Talent Partners across the US and Stockholm, setting the standard for how corporate hiring gets done and building the structure to scale alongside a headcount plan that keeps growing. * Own relationships across a broad set of senior stakeholders: the CFO, VP People, VP Operations, General Counsel, and CIO. Each has a clear view of what strong looks like in their function and you'll be the person helping them build it. * Drive consistency and quality across two markets with meaningfully different talent pools and hiring norms. The US and Europe each require a different approach and your strategy needs to reflect that. * Build the pipeline discipline, reporting, and performance metrics that give stakeholders a clear and consistent view of where hiring stands across every corporate function. * Partner with talent operations and the broader TA leadership team on tooling, process design, and cross-functional initiatives. WHAT YOU BRING You've led corporate recruiting at a company growing fast enough that the brief changed every quarter and the stakeholders had strong opinions. You know how to hold the bar across a broad remit, earn credibility with a CFO and a General Counsel in the same week, and build a team that performs consistently under pressure. We're looking for: * Meaningful experience leading G&A or corporate recruiting at a high-growth, VC-backed company, covering multiple functions rather than a single discipline. You've managed managers and built teams, not just run a desk. * The range to partner credibly with the CFO, VP People, VP Operations, General Counsel, and CIO simultaneously. You understand how each of these functions is built, you bring a point of view to those conversations, and you push back when you need to. * Multi-market experience across the US and Europe. You understand how talent markets differ on either side of the Atlantic and you build your approach accordingly. * A data-driven approach to running a function. You set targets, track the right things, and use performance data to improve rather than just report. * A hiring bar that doesn't move under pressure.
