Outtake exists to empower and facilitate trust for a digital-first world. Today, impersonation, fraud, AI-driven scams, and
identity abuse spread faster than any security team can respond to. So we built something different: an agentic AI platform that
proactively detects, monitors, and takes down impersonators, automating protection in hours, not weeks.
Built by ex-Palantir, ex-CTO/founders, and ex-Notion engineers, Outtake is designed for clarity, autonomy, and velocity. Our goal
is ambitious: become the trust layer of the modern internet. And we intend to do it with a lean, dense, exceptionally talented
team.
Outtake is backed by top-tier investors and operators who believe in our mission and our model. With strong financial footing and
a long runway, we prioritize creating an environment where people can do the best work of their careers.
Engineering at Outtake is built on ownership, clarity, and end-to-end impact. We hire entrepreneurial engineers who think in
systems, not tickets.
Our teams are flat and autonomous: engineers ship fast, make product decisions, and own outcomes from concept to deployment. We
optimize for grit + velocity, which means every engineer operates with the scope, influence, and equity of a future CTO.

With strong financial footing and a long runway, we prioritize creating an environment where people can do the best work of their careers. ABOUT YOU Engineering at Outtake is built on ownership, clarity, and end-to-end impact. We hire entrepreneurial generalists who think in systems, not tickets — people who want to design architecture, ship fast, and solve problems that span the entire stack. Our teams are flat and autonomous: engineers ship fast, make product decisions, and own outcomes from concept to deployment. We optimize for grit + velocity, which means every engineer operates with the scope, influence, and equity of a future CTO. Our goal is to bring on engineers who will grow with Outtake's trajectory - and because of the responsibility, autonomy and talent density here. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR When the life-support systems on your Mars habitat begin to fail, are you the engineer the team trusts to hack together a solution in hours? No worries, neither are we - but we DO want you to be the type of engineer who is unafraid to dive into any part of the codebase to accomplish the mission. Often getting the job done involves building functional v0s that eventually evolve into scalable production systems. Can you navigate this journey effectively? Do you have well reasoned opinions that rapidly update to new information - whether from customers, peers, or the environment? WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE * Contribute to the whole platform - whether it’s in the BE where you tinker with agent framework that achieves all complex tasks or the FE where you make our incredibly powerful workflows simple & intuitive. * Partner with customers who are some of the most socially meaningful individuals on the planet - these brands, reputations, and names move billions daily. * Work with an elite team with high success track record at prior companies & become a better version of yourself in the process. * Learn the ability to carry zen into any situation of chaos as you continuously overcome obstacles and fully grow into your abilities. * Become a leader as Outtake grows and define the culture of a high impact organization. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING * Proven track record of execution: 2+ years experience as software engineer building world class products. * Thoughtful problem solver: You approach problems holistically, starting with a clear and accurate understanding of the context. You think critically about the implications of your decisions, and are able to consider both the business and the technical tradeoffs of your solutions. * Not ideological about technology: To you, technologies are about tradeoffs. You may be opinionated, but you’re not ideological, can learn new technologies and are receptive to new ideas. * Organized and self-sufficient: You are comfortable managing yourself, navigate ambiguity and finding ways to create impact. * Owner of your mission: You are a owner of the products that you create, meaning you take pride in the quality, maintenance and understandability of the products you build and the code you write. BONUS POINTS IF… * You have experience working in a high growth early stage startup. * You have experience building agents, or fine-tuning LLMs to accomplish complex tasks. * You have experience in building large scale content indexing systems. * You’ve built apps or are familiar with our stack - NextJS, React, Typescript, tRPC, Vercel, Postgres. LIFE AT OUTTAKE * Office: For those in NY, we are an in-person team (5 days a week, with flexibility as needed) working out of a stunning waterfront office in Brooklyn. Collaboration, speed, and clarity matter. * Health: 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision for employees. * Time Away: Flexible PTO. We trust adults to manage energy, not clock time. * Culture & Team: Annual company retreats and regular in-person events. Outtake is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive team.

And we intend to do it with a lean, dense, exceptionally talented team. Outtake is backed by top-tier investors and operators who believe in our mission and our model. With strong financial footing and a long runway, we prioritize creating an environment where people can do the best work of their careers. THE ROLE This is a product engineering role in the strongest sense of the term. You work close to customers. We believe customer proximity is a competitive advantage. Engineers talk directly to customers, join calls, and participate in tight feedback loops. Forward-deployed work is part of the job - not as support, but as the fastest path to product insight. You shape what we build. Engineers here don't wait for fully formed specs. If you see a problem worth solving, you're expected to make the case, design the experiment, and build the v0. Good product judgment is valued as highly as clean execution. You ship across the stack. You'll work wherever the problem is - backend systems processing TBs of internet-scale data, frontend workflows that make complex analysis feel intuitive, agent frameworks that automate what used to take weeks of manual work. Titles matter less than ownership. You operate with clarity and focus. Mondays we align. Fridays we retro. In between, you're trusted to prioritize what matters most - while staying sharp to signal from customers and the market. THE TEAM "The team you build is the company you build." — Vinod Khosla You'll work alongside engineers from Palantir, Notion, Meta, Microsoft, Slack, and Datadog. Several have founded startups. But credentials aren't the point. This team cares deeply about craft, slope, and truth-seeking. People pair on hard problems, challenge each other in code review, and give direct, thoughtful feedback in 1:1s. Mentorship is intentional, not accidental - you'll learn faster here because the bar is high and the coaching is real. We're building Outtake to be a long-term network of builders: people who go on to lead teams, start companies, and back each other over decades. The goal is simple - working here should make you meaningfully better. YOU This role tends to excite people who've built something from scratch and want to do it again - with better tools, sharper teammates, and real distribution. You might be a fit if: * You've shipped products that users actually used - and at least one that failed, and you understand why that mattered * You ramp quickly, thrive in ambiguity, and have a strong bias to action * You care deeply about why something is being built, not just how * You understand what success looks like for the customer and the business, not just the code * You've done some form of forward-deployed or customer-embedded engineering and found it energizing If you need a roadmap handed to you, this won't be a fit. If you want to help write the roadmap, you'll feel at home. Bonus if you've: * Founded something (even if it didn't work) * Worked in forward-deployed or customer-embedded roles * Built with agents, LLMs, or large-scale data systems WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE What will you have shipped by month 6 that customers are asking about by name? The engineers who thrive here tend to find a problem early - something they heard on a customer call, noticed in the data, or couldn't stop thinking about - and make it theirs. Within a few months, they've built something real: a detection capability that catches what we were missing, a workflow that cuts hours of manual work, a system that makes the next ten features possible. By month 12, you're not waiting for direction. You're the person others come to for a specific problem space. Customers know your work. Teammates trust your judgment. And you've shaped what Outtake builds next. WHY OUTTAKE If you're choosing between us and another AI startup: * Foundation models are infrastructure. We're building what people actually use to stay safe. * The impact is immediate and real - attacks stopped, fraud prevented, threats caught that humans miss. * The company is working: real customers, real revenue, real momentum. * The people are exceptional - not just in pedigree, but in how they think and build. * The network compounds: your teammates become future founders, collaborators, and references. * The upside is meaningful. Equity reflects impact, not title. ABOUT OUTTAKE Outtake exists to empower and facilitate trust for a digital-first world. Today, impersonation, fraud, AI-driven scams, and identity abuse spread faster than any security team can respond to. So we built something different: an agentic AI platform that proactively detects, monitors, and takes down impersonators, automating protection in hours, not weeks. Built by ex-Palantir, ex-CTO/founders, and ex-Notion engineers, Outtake is designed for clarity, autonomy, and velocity. Our goal is ambitious: become the trust layer of the modern internet. And we intend to do it with a lean, dense, exceptionally talented team. Outtake is backed by top-tier investors and operators who believe in our mission and our model. With strong financial footing and a long runway, we prioritize creating an environment where people can do the best work of their careers. THE ROLE This is a platform engineering role. You shape how other engineers build. You will own the foundations that product engineers rely on every day. You’ll design and maintain the systems, tools, and primitives that determine how fast, safely, and confidently the team can ship. Your work directly influences developer workflows, reliability, and day-to-day engineering velocity. You optimize for leverage. You will prioritize work that multiplies impact across the engineering org. Instead of solving the same problem repeatedly, you’ll turn patterns into platforms and one-off fixes into systems. The goal is to make it easier for engineers to move quickly and do the right thing by default. You envision and build durable foundations. You will develop and evolve a point of view on how engineers should work, then translate that vision into code and systems. You’ll operate comfortably in messy, fast-moving environments and steadily turn them into something more solid without slowing the team down. This role expects you to balance long-term thinking with practical execution. THE TEAM "The team you build is the company you build." — Vinod Khosla Outtake is built by former founders and engineers from Palantir, Notion, Meta, Slack, and Datadog - people who’ve shipped real systems, made hard calls, and learned the cost of getting things wrong. We care deeply about craft, slope, and truth-seeking. Work here is collaborative and demanding: people pair on hard problems, challenge each other in review, and give direct, thoughtful feedback. Ownership is real - individuals own problems end-to-end, from framing and decisions to execution and outcomes. Mentorship is intentional, not accidental; people take your growth seriously and expect the same from you. The drive is high: people here care a lot, push hard, and move fast, not because they’re told to, but because they want to. We’re building Outtake as a long-term network of builders. The goal is simple - time spent here should compound. You should leave meaningfully better than when you arrived. YOU This role tends to excite people who like building the foundations of messy systems and get energy from enabling other engineers to do their best work. You might be a fit if: * You’ve built and owned foundational systems that other engineers depended on, and you’ve lived with the consequences of those decisions * You ramp quickly, thrive in ambiguity, and don’t need problems fully specified before you start making progress * You understand the tension between ideal solutions and velocity, and know when to pursue one over the other * You instinctively look for leverage and prefer systemic fixes over one-off solutions * You have a point of view on how engineers should work, and you’re opinionated about turning that into code, tooling, and defaults * You’ve worked closely with other engineers or teams as an enabler, not just as an implementer If you need a tightly defined scope and a fixed roadmap, this won’t be a fit. If you want to help define and build the platform’s direction you’ll feel at home. Bonus if you’ve: * Built or owned internal platforms, developer tooling, or shared infrastructure * Worked on agentic systems, LLM platforms, or large-scale data ingestion pipelines * Been the person people go to when systems get weird or unclear WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE What will engineers be relying on in 6 months that didn’t exist before? The platform engineers who thrive here tend to spot leverage early, often in the form of friction in the developer experience, a brittle system, or a pattern repeating across teams. Within a few months, you’ve made that problem yours and turned it into something real: a platform capability engineers default to, an abstraction that removes an entire class of errors, or infrastructure that quietly unlocks faster product work. By this point, other engineers are moving faster because of decisions you made, without even thinking about it. Eventually, you’re a clear owner of core parts of the platform, with a point of view on how engineers should work and why. Product teams trust the foundations you’ve built, and leadership relies on your judgment when deciding how the platform should evolve next. WHY OUTTAKE If you're choosing between us and another AI startup: * We’re taking on the dark side of AI advancement - we protect people from threats that are amplified by rapid advances in AI. * The problem space is evolving, and you won’t stop learning - scammers continuously adapt. The problems we’re solving are always changing and demand constant innovation. * The impact is immediate and real - attacks stopped, fraud prevented, lives protected, and threats caught that humans alone would miss. * The company is thriving - serious customers, real revenue, partnerships with frontier AI labs, and momentum that comes from shipping things people depend on. * The people are exceptional - sharp thinkers, strong operators, and teammates you’ll want in your corner for the rest of your career. * The upside is meaningful - we’re still early in our journey, and we're tackling a massive problem that's only getting bigger.
