WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR As an Simulation Engineer - FEA, you will build hands-on experience applying finite element analysis to real-world engineering challenges across multiple industries including aerospace and defense. You are someone who can grasp and apply advanced engineering concepts across multiple industries, and you excel at working directly with customers (often directly on-site) to build CAE models that are integrated into AI-tools that are both useful and used. You bring expertise in structural mechanics, and materials science with a solid ability to apply fundamental knowledge to real-world phenomena across a wide range of engineering applications. Highly proficient in at least one of NASTRAN, ABAQUS or ANSYS Mechanical, adept at automating these tools to create scalable optimisation workflows that drive impactful results. Exposure to open-source FEA tools (CalculiX, FEniCS), or explicit dynamics (LS-DYNA, Abaqus/Explicit) is a plus. Proficiency in parametric CAD modelling (NX or CATIA) and coding in Python, (or the ability to quickly learn programming languages), is an advantage. With 1-2 years of industry experience (post Masters or PhD) in a commercial, non-research environment, you’re ready to hit the ground running. You’re confident setting up FEA simulations independently, interpreting complex results with depth, and making informed decisions based on solid engineering judgement. Familiarity with turbomachinery analysis, gas turbine, or aircraft structural sizing is a natural fit for this role. Experience with multidisciplinary optimization (MDO) is a bonus, though not essential at this level. In addition, background in composite materials analysis alongside some exposure to damage tolerance and fracture mechanics, would be a strong fit as well. This Role In this role, you’ll work closely with our Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and customers to understand and define the engineering challenges we are solving. You’ll play a crucial role in delivering high-fidelity simulations by: * Assist in building complex structural and multi-physics models from geometry clean-up and meshing, to simulating and post-processing complex real-world phenomena, integrating experimental data for model validation. * Building robust parametric CAD models (NX or CATIA) coupled with simulation pipeline automation through scripting, for executing advanced design optimization and DoE studies. * Partner with customers to address their most complex engineering challenges through advanced FEA & AI solutions; communicate results clearly * Working at the intersection of CAE and Data Science to generate high-quality simulation datasets for training Machine/Deep Learning models. Leveraging data sampling techniques to efficiently capture the design space, reduce computational cost, and enhance model accuracy. * Accelerate high-fidelity modelling by using Flux (our cloud platform) and on-premise HPC resources, going beyond smart meshing and model setup to achieve real performance gains. * Document your work through clear technical reports and process notes, contributing to the team's shared knowledge base. * Traveling domestically and globally (North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania) up to 3-4 weeks per quarter to work side-by-side with customers in building solutions on-site. We're looking for a proactive, organized, and adaptable Executive Assistant to join our New York office. Although you'll be the only EA in our New York office, taking over a well-established role from a colleague who has recently moved into a different position at PhysicsX, the role is highly networked — spanning our global EA team in London and Singapore, and the assistants of our most senior customer and partner contacts at companies like Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Siemens. While the foundations are in place, there's real scope to make this role your own — shaping how executive support works in our North American team and leaving your mark on it. Reporting to our London-based Head of People Operations & Data, you'll provide day-to-day executive support to our Managing Director, North America, alongside 1–2 other senior team members. This is a true thought-partner role — you'll act as an informed deputy for the people you support, often making judgment calls on their behalf and representing them in interactions with customers, partners, and internal colleagues. PhysicsX is a fast-moving, growing organization, and this role will evolve with it. Own the experience, not just the booking. * Own complex domestic and international travel — frequent multi-city trips, last-minute re-routing, customer-site visits, and trade events (e.g. industry conferences). Build the muscle to rebook and reshape an itinerary inside an hour when plans change. * Ensure timely processing of expenses and timesheets on behalf of supported principals. * Work closely with the global EA team, collaborating on cross-regional scheduling and covering for colleagues in the US and UK during absences. * Build and maintain working relationships with the assistants of senior customer and partner contacts — coordinating scheduling across multiple offices, anticipating their principals' needs, and being a reliable counterpart they trust. * Prepare for high-stakes meetings — pulling together briefing materials, agendas, attendee bios, and pre-reads in advance of customer, partner, and executive engagements (including CEO and Board-level conversations). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KEY SKILLS REQUIRED * Experience in an Executive Assistant role, ideally in a fast-paced, international, or high-growth environment. * A natural network-builder — comfortable picking up the phone with another EA they've never met to solve a scheduling problem, and building the kind of rapport that makes complicated multi-stakeholder meetings happen. * Proactive and strategic — able to think ahead, understand context, and act as a trusted extension of the leaders they support. * Skilled at diary management with the confidence to push back, problem-solve, and unblock when needed. * Comfortable being the sole EA in a region, taking ownership and operating with autonomy while staying closely connected to a global team. * Genuinely flexible and comfortable with a role that will evolve — energized by variety and the opportunity to shape things rather than unsettled by it. * Comfortable with a role that occasionally requires support outside standard hours — flexibility is genuinely a two-way street here. * Excellent communicator across written, verbal, and digital channels. * Impeccable discretion — you'll see commercially sensitive customer information, partnership terms, financial and personal details, and confidential internal discussions. We expect this to be second nature, not a stretch. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) — required. ABOUT THE ROLE: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team member as we expand into government and public sector applications of AI. This critical role will ensure that SpaceXAI operates within regulatory, ethical, operational, and federal boundaries while fostering a culture of integrity and resilience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to safeguard our mission-driven work in AI development and deployment, including support for sensitive and classified environments. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Execute security compliance implementation and audits (e.g., ISO 27001/42001, SOC2, FedRAMP HIGH, DoD Cloud Computing SRG IL5/IL6, NIST 800-53 rev 5, NIST 800-171/CMMC, Risk Management Framework). * Work with 3PAOs (Third-Party Assessment Organizations) and federal government Authorizing Officials (AOs) to achieve compliance certifications, reports, and Authorized to Operate (ATO) status. * Identify, assess, and prioritize risks related to AI operations, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and cloud deployments. * Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, including monitoring systems, contingency plans, vulnerability scans, Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs), and STIGs. * Ensure the implementation, oversight, monitoring, and maintenance of security configurations, practices, and procedures throughout the project lifecycle. * Serve as a liaison between system owners, security personnel, and cross-functional teams to facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and control implementation. * Lead Risk Management Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes, cloud system risk assessments, compliance reviews for new products/changes/features, and process enhancements. * Conduct regular risk assessments, scenario analyses, and proactive evaluations of emerging threats, certifications, requirements, and technologies in the AI landscape. * Oversee audits, certifications, third-party assessments, and vulnerability management to maintain compliance and operational credibility. * Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on risk, compliance, and cybersecurity matters; translate business and technical risks for leadership. * Create and present regular reports on GRC performance, risks, and compliance status to senior leadership and stakeholders. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or in an engineering/STEM field * 3+ years of experience in governance, risk management, compliance, or technology audit roles. * Experience with vulnerability management, POAMs, STIG implementation, and cloud security controls.
