QRT are a rapidly growing hedge fund trading globally in competitive financial markets across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. As
part of the next phase of development we are rolling out hardware platforms to accelerate our trading systems. FPGA development
will be at the heart of many of these systems with a focus on high frequency trading.
We are looking for talented hardware engineers with a track record of achievement in any domain. You may have experience of
finance and trading, but it is not essential. You probably enjoy solving complex system problems where hardware and software come
together to provide high performance solutions. We are looking for a range of experience from graduates through to senior
engineers, so your achievements may be in academia or industry.
You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and have your voice heard in this fast paced firm. Working with
Base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $280,000 per year.

The successful candidate will join the established DCO team at QRT, working closely with Network Engineering and infrastructure teams you will be responsible for the implementation and physical deployment of electronic trading infrastructure in support of the firm’s trading activities. Your Future Role within QRT * Contribute to the design and planning of new equipment deployments in line with data centre best practices * Deploy, maintain, and decommission trading infrastructure hardware, including FPGA platforms, ultra-low-latency servers, and high-performance network switches, across a global colocation footprint * Ensure consistent build quality across structured cabling, rack layouts, power distribution, cooling infrastructure, and environmental monitoring * Coordinate installations, upgrades, capacity expansions, and decommissions with exchanges, colocation providers, hardware vendors, and onsite engineers * Support procurement, logistics, inventory management, and the movement of hardware and components between sites * Maintain accurate and up-to-date infrastructure documentation (rack elevations, patching matrices, connectivity layouts) using CMDB tools such as NetBox * Work closely with network engineering and trading teams to ensure physical infrastructure meets performance and operational requirements * Use basic scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible) to support automation, monitoring, and operational tooling where required * Ensure data centre operations meet high standards of security, cleanliness, documentation, and supply management * Install, troubleshoot, and support servers, switches, timing devices, and cabling in live environments * Provide break-fix support in a 24/7 global trading environment Your Present Skillset: * Experience working in low-latency or high-performance trading infrastructure environments (e.g. HFT, exchange colocation, market making) * Strong understanding of hardware and systems used in low-latency trading, including FPGAs, optical taps, high-performance servers, networking, and timing equipment * Solid understanding of hardware and network devices, including basic configuration * Proven experience managing vendors and delivering on-site changes and large-scale deployments to exacting standards * High standards of physical build quality, attention to detail, and operational discipline in infrastructure layout and cabling * Strong documentation skills with a focus on process consistency and operational readiness * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, globally distributed team environment * Willingness to travel internationally and provide occasional evening or weekend support as part of a flexible operations schedule * Ability to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation supporting global trading operations Base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $180,000 per year. Your future role within QRT * A key member of the development team building and enhancing low latency algorithmic trading strategies for QRT * Coverage of all aspects of the algorithmic trading strategy, including the exchange price feeds, financial indicators, market making algorithms, back-testing engine, tick data management, exchange simulators and trading gateways, as well as support of the production environment and the processes surrounding it * You will work closely with a range of investment management professionals including quantitative analysts/developers, traders and operations staff, in order to design and develop cutting edge systems to keep QRT’s business at the forefront of its field * Opportunity to contribute to quantitative research, although this is not the core focus of the role Your present skillset * Computer Science degree or equivalent * Essential you have a background in Linux / C+ low latency optimizations (5 years+ on low latency Linux development using C/C++, STL, Boost) * Experience designing and implementing multithreaded and distributed systems * Experience of front-office trading desk-aligned role is an advantage * Good knowledge of distributed network architecture * Good knowledge of Equities and Futures asset classes highly desirable * Familiar with low level optimization techniques on x86/64 platform * Familiar with Linux / GCC development toolchain and Linux Red Hat distribution * Knowledge of market data feed handlers and execution gateways highly desirable * A background in Linux kernel, FPGA and Network card offloading will also be advantageous Base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $300,000 per year. Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run. We want you as a talented FPGA engineer to help us in our mission by developing the electronic systems we need for our capsule to fly. You will be successful in this role if you are able to help us: * Write VHDL code to validate all needed functions in the FPGAs * Provide inputs to team in charge designing digital circuit boards with FPGAs and Microcontrollers for space environment * Design and validation of digital interfaces circuitry (CAN, RS422 UART, I2C, SPI, Spacewire, etc.) * Write first test software for the system to validate interfaces and hardware functions * Validating the design and ensuring failure tolerance and radiation tolerance of the functions KEY RESPONSIBILITIES In your capacity as a Digital Electronics Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include: * Digital electronics architecture design * FPGA design and verification * Close working together with Systems Engineers to define capabilities and requirements of the digital functionality * Writing first test software for the system to validate interfaces and hardware functions * Full test cycle from first power up of prototypes to serial test concept of flight hardware * Creation and adaptation of test scripts in Python for test automation WHAT WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE FROM YOU In the role of Digital Electronics Engineer ideally, you will have the following: * Finished bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Embedded Systems or similar (can be substituted with several years of relevant work experience) * Relevant work experience in FPGA / SoC design and / or verification * Experience using Microchip Libero or Xilinx Vivado * Solid VHDL / Verilog knowledge * Embedded software knowledge (MCUs, soft-cores) * Knowledge of VUnit/UVVM is a plus * Hands-on mentality working in the laboratory (Soldering, prototype board debugging, etc.) * Knowledge of radiation effects and radiation related failure mechanisms in electronic circuits is a plus (Single Event Upsets, Single Event Transients, etc.) * Knowledge of environmental qualification and relevant standards ECSS / NASA-HBK / NASA -CBCS / MIL-STD for programming, Interfaces, etc. is a plus.
