PhysicsX is a deep-tech company with roots in numerical physics and Formula One, dedicated to accelerating hardware innovation at
the speed of software.
We are building an AI-driven simulation software stack for engineering and manufacturing across advanced industries. By enabling
high-fidelity, multi-physics simulation through AI inference across the entire engineering lifecycle, PhysicsX unlocks new levels
of optimization and automation in design, manufacturing, and operations — empowering engineers to push the boundaries of
possibility. Our customers include leading innovators in Aerospace & Defense, Materials, Energy, Semiconductors, and Automotive.
At PhysicsX, the Workplace & Employee Experience function exists to ensure that every employee — whether in London, New York or
Singapore — experiences the same high standard of working environment, feels genuinely connected to the company's mission and
culture, and has access to the tools, spaces and information they need to do their best work. When this function is working well,
the environment it creates is itself a competitive advantage.
The Office Manager is central to making that vision a reality on the ground. Responsible for the day-to-day running of the New
York office (Flatiron area). This is a hands-on, varied role that requires someone who is a self-starter, organized, and genuinely
passionate about creating great places to work.
The role is led by your local Workplace Lead, while operating under shared standards and governance developed jointly across both
regions. Day-to-day you will work most closely with the Workplace Lead in your region, while collaborating closely with your
Office Manager counterpart in London (and in the future, Singapore).

PhysicsX's Workplace & Employee Experience function is built on a simple but ambitious belief: the physical and cultural
conditions of work should never be a reason someone leaves, disengages or underperforms. When it's working well, the environment
we create is a competitive advantage — a reason exceptional people stay, and a reason they tell others to join.
The function delivers operationally excellent offices across UK, US and Singapore, a global standard for facilities and health and
safety, workplace productivity tools governance, knowledge management as infrastructure, and company-wide culture and employee
experience programs.
It is co-led by two peer Workplace Leads — one for each geography — each owning their region locally while contributing to a
shared global centre of excellence. As Office Manager, you sit at the core of that model, making the vision real for the people in
your office every day.

About Modo Energy The energy transition is the biggest infrastructure buildout in human history. Modo Energy is the data platform at the centre of it. We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world's most serious energy investors, developers, and operators depend on to make decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo data was in the room. Founded in 2019, we're 80+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast. This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it's scaling globally. From the Founder "I care deeply about talent. I will never compromise on the bar. Every bad hire costs us money, time, and reputation. I need a recruiter who feels the same way — who can spot A-players instantly, say 'no' to mediocrity, and help us scale without lowering our standards." The Role We're a small People team, and we're hiring a Recruiter to help us scale through the next phase. This is a full-cycle generalist role: you'll own searches across both technical and commercial functions, from sourcing to close. You'll report to and work directly with the Head of Operations, partnering with hiring managers across engineering, product, pre and post-sales. This is a real seat at the table: you'll advise on what good looks like, push back when a role isn't ready, and hold the bar. What You'll Do * Own full-cycle hiring for technical and commercial roles across New York * Partner with hiring managers to define role scope, success criteria, and sourcing strategy — shape briefs, don't just execute them * Run structured, consistent processes that move fast without compromising quality * Use data to understand what's working: pipeline health, conversion rates, and quality of hire * Deliver a candidate experience that reflects Modo — clear, honest, and fast * Help develop how the recruiting function operates as we grow What You Bring * A couple years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a mix of technical and commercial hiring * A startup or scaleup background - you know how to hire well without much infrastructure behind you * Experience in or genuine enthusiasm for the energy and cleantech sector - this is the market we care about, and it helps to care too * Strong instincts for what makes a good hire - you advise rather than just execute * Data literacy: you track your pipeline, know your numbers, and use them to improve * Low ego, high ownership, bias to action - you push back when something's off and own it when things don't go right * This is an early hire in a deliberately small team. Spend 6-12 months getting deeply embedded across the People function at Modo, and there’s a chance that this could grow into a People leadership role. Important Details We are an in-person company. Everyone works in the office Tuesday through Thursday, with flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. Modo offers a competitive salary, potentially life-changing equity, and top-of-market benefits. Modo Energy is an equal opportunity employer. Our employment decisions are made on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need. We do not discriminate based on age, national origin, disability, race, religion, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. If you need assistance with your application or the interview process, please contact us at careers@modoenergy.com. What You Can Expect From Us At Modo Energy, we believe that exceptional work deserves exceptional reward. We're hybrid: everyone works Tuesday to Thursday in office, with Monday and Friday flexible. This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it's scaling globally. RECRUITING AT MODO ENERGY Modo Energy is the data and analytics platform for the battery energy storage industry. We help developers, investors, operators, and utilities understand and act on the battery storage markets that are reshaping how electricity systems work. We're growing fast, across every function, and the bar for who joins goes up every quarter, not down. Recruiting is one of the highest-leverage things happening at Modo right now, and the person in this seat will shape who this company becomes. THE ROLE We're hiring a Recruiter to own full-cycle hiring across multiple functions and geographies - commercial, analyst, and operational roles today, with the mix evolving as we scale. You'll work closely with hiring managers and leadership (including direct partnership with our CEO on senior searches). The best person for this role can map a market, build a real point of view on who's in the top decile of a given talent pool, and run a process disciplined enough to close them - while keeping pipeline hygiene, candidate experience, and hiring-manager communication tight throughout. WHAT YOU'LL DO Sourcing and market mapping * Partner closely with technical leadership to deeply understand hiring needs while providing strategic guidance on recruiting best practices * Build and nurture a strong pipeline of talent * Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to engage top-tier, passive candidates across various technical disciplines * Use AI as a core part of your daily workflow: for research, candidate identification, personalized outreach drafting, call summarization, and surfacing signal from messy data. This isn't optional or a novelty at Modo; it's how the role works * Stay on top of market trends, comp benchmarks, and where the talent pool is moving Full-cycle ownership * Own the entire recruiting lifecycle from intake through offer close, across our functions and geographies * Run intake meetings with hiring managers and interviewers to build a shared, precise picture of the role and evaluation criteria before sourcing starts * Ask first-principles and self-starter questions live in interviews - we're evaluating how people think, not just what they've done * Push back when a search is mis-scoped, surface comp reality early, and turn hiring-manager wishlists into a concrete profile within days * Close candidates who have competing offers - build conviction, sequence references well, and win on substance Process, tools, and experience * Maintain the ATS (GreenHouse) with real pipeline discipline, so reporting and funnel metrics are trustworthy * Run debriefs after each hire (and each miss) and feed learnings back into how we hire * Own creation of job descriptions and interview scorecards * Manage relationships with our external recruiting agency partners * Deliver a fair, transparent, and fast candidate experience - clear feedback, offers that move in days rather than weeks * Support employer brand work, campus/lateral recruiting events, and other ad-hoc talent projects * Contribute to comp benchmarking and broader improvements to how Modo evaluates talent WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR The Essentials * 2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, somewhere high-growth or fast-paced where the bar was genuinely non-negotiable * A startup background - you know how to hire well without much infrastructure behind you * Comfort using AI in your day-to-day recruiting workflow already, or genuine eagerness to make it core to how you work * Demonstrated closing skill against competing offers * High-agency operating mode: you own outcomes, flag problems early, and don't wait to be told what's next * Excellent written communication - your outbound and candidate updates are part of the work product and should read that way * Comfortable in a fast-moving, high-autonomy, low-process environment across multiple time zones and countries * Based in NY and able to work hybrid, in-office Tuesday–Thursday Nice to Have * Experience recruiting commercial or GTM roles (AE, AM, CSM) at a high-growth SaaS, data, fintech, or energy company * Experience recruiting analyst or technical roles alongside commercial ones * Experience building or contributing to an AI-augmented sourcing or screening workflow * Familiarity with Greenhouse, plus LinkedIn Recruiter, Notion, and Slack * Experience hiring across multiple countries simultaneously WHAT COMES WITH THE ROLE The salary range for this role is $160-180k * A seat at the table on hiring decisions that genuinely shape the company - not a coordinator role * Full autonomy: we expect people to operate independently within a few months, not to be managed step by step * Direct, honest feedback culture - the best argument wins regardless of seniority * Compensation benchmarked to pay top of your personal market, reviewed twice a year * All employees receive share options * Hybrid working, in-office Tuesday-Thursday, across our London, New York, Madrid, and Sydney offices * A small, high-leverage team where your work is visible and matters immediately EQUAL OPPORTUNITY & LEGAL Modo Energy is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate all candidates on merit and fit for the role, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law. If you need a reasonable accommodation at any stage of the interview process, let us know. What You Can Expect From Us At Modo Energy, we believe that exceptional work deserves exceptional reward.
