Mission Brief  We deliver the half of the rocket that stays on the ground. As a Senior Fluid Systems Design Engineer at the Ground Systems department of Isar Aerospace, you deliver the ground fluid infrastructure required for safe, reliable, and rapid test and launch of the Spectrum rocket. This includes test-rigs for development, qualification, and acceptance of launch vehicle and propulsion systems as well as entire launch bases. You work hand-in-hand with Propulsion and Launch Vehicle development teams to translate their requirements into functional designs and concepts of operations. You tackle complex engineering challenges across multiple projects and phases – from concept to detail design, execution, commissioning, and handover to site owner and operator.       Your Role in Our Space Mission:  * Design fluid systems for test and launch facilities, including rocket engine test-rigs, structure pressurization test-rigs, integrated stage testing rigs, launch pads, etc.  * Perform sizing calculations and/or numerical simulations for fluid systems, including cryogenic propellants storage, conditioning, and distribution systems, high-pressure gas distribution and pressurization systems, etc.  * Select and procure suitable fluid hardware, including tanks, pumps, heat-exchangers, valves, pressure regulators, safety-valves, instrumentation, etc.  * Prepare technical documentation, such as PFDs and P&IDs, hardware lists, datasheets, etc. that serve as a basis for manufacturing planning and execution  * Lead and contribute to system design reviews and risk assessments, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance  * Act as a technical point of contact and subject matter expert for the projects and operations teams, consulting on fluid system questions and decisions  * Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to structuring and expanding knowledge in the team with guidelines, checklists, processes, presentations, etc.  * Depending on interest and experience:  * Lead or support factory and site acceptance tests for fluid systems  * Lead or participate in commissioning planning and hands-on site operations   * Support test and launch campaigns on-site or remotely with operations or data analyses.    Qualification Checklist  Education and Experience:  * B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in process/energy/chemical/aerospace/mechanical engineering or an equivalent qualification  * At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in aerospace, oil & gas, energy, chemical industry, engineering service provider or similar  * In-depth experience in the design and/or operation of high-pressure gas and cryogenic liquid systems, ideally, in the context of rocket testing and launching facilities  * Experience with design and safety analyses and reviews, including HAZOPs  Hard Skills:  * Expert knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics and their application to real hardware like valves, regulators, etc.  * Strong analytical skills and able to apply theoretical knowledge to find practical solutions to complex fluid mechanic and/or thermodynamic engineering problems  * In-depth knowledge of industry standards and technical regulations which are common in plant engineering (e.g. ASME, ISO, DIN EN, PED, AD2000, ATEX)   * Modeling and simulation of fluid systems by means of software such as EcosimPro, Python/Matlab scripts, and Excel sheets  Soft Skills:  * Adjusting self-sufficiently and quickly to a changing work environment, supporting the team  * Highly organized, effective team player with high attention to detail  * Proactive, open, effective, and constructive communication also in stressful situations  * Can-do attitude and desire to go out of your way to help others  * Available for occasional international travel to our test and launch sites  Language  * Fluent in English    Bonus Skills  * Hands-on experience with fluid systems, e.g., assembly of piping systems, participating in commissioning or testing operations, etc.    Benefits  * Employee Participation Program: Share in our success through our virtual company share program * 30 days of vacation: Enjoy the days off to relax and recharge * Company pension plan: Secure your future with our company pension plan, featuring a 20% employer contribution after the probation period * Subsidised lunch: Stay energised with delicious, subsidised lunches every day * Public transport ticket: Commute with ease using a fully financed Deutschlandticket * Sport Clubs membership: Stay fit with our sponsored sports club memberships (EGYM Wellpass) * Individual learning allowance: Grow your skills with an individual learning budget granted after the probation period * Childcare allowance: Receive a childcare allowance for your non-school-age children * And Much More! Mission Brief  We deliver the half of the rocket that stays on the ground. As (Senior) Project Manager in the Ground Systems department at Isar Aerospace, you will be managing the establishment and deployment of mid- to large-scale test and launch facilities. Situated in Munich, you will be playing a key role in managing the project from the initiation, over all engineering phases, through construction and commissioning until handing over to the on-site operations crew. The multidisciplinary team you will be working with consists of highly motivated engineers with an international background, fulfilling technical and co-ordinational roles in the project. You will coordinate timeline, costs, risks and top-level requirements with internal and external stakeholders, reporting to senior management. Your Role in Our Space Mission:  * Technically manage a multidisciplinary, cross-functional project team, covering multiple departments * Manage an international constellation of internal and external stakeholders including contract setup and negotiation * Be responsible for reporting on the project status to management regarding ambitious timelines, budgets and top-level risks of the project * Ability to identify, assess and mitigate technical, financial and operational risks early and proactively * Closely collaborate with our internal customers of the rocket systems, using your technical know-how to realise the project according to set scope and timeline * Contribute to the establishment of new sites for Isar Aerospace by working closely together with service departments * Setup and improve workflows, processes, structures where necessary, to expedite project execution in collaboration with team managers across departments Qualification Checklist  * B. Mission Brief  As a Controls & Automation Engineer at ISAR, you will be deeply involved in building and maintaining all kinds of test benches, test sites and launch sites for subcomponent testing up to launching rockets. This will include planning, developing and commissioning of the required control systems (Beckhoff PLC & TwinCAT 3), followed by full lifecycle support, including troubleshooting and upgrading systems.
