About AQEMIA AQEMIA is a drug invention company dedicated to creating entirely new medicines to address major unmet medical needs. At the core of our mission is QEMI, our proprietary molecule-invention platform, which uniquely combines cutting-edge science with advanced technology. Powered by physics-based modeling, statistical mechanics, and generative AI, QEMI allows our teams to design novel drug candidates from first principles. What makes AQEMIA different is our commitment to true innovation: our research is dedicated to the invention of new molecular entities, not the refinement of existing ones. We focus on inventing never-before-seen molecules, without relying on experimental data, and advancing them into a growing pipeline of proprietary programs and strategic partnerships with leading pharmaceutical companies. Our most advanced preclinical programs are currently in vivo optimization, targeting diseases still waiting for effective treatments, offering our teams the opportunity to work on science that can make a real difference in people’s lives. For more information, visit AQEMIA.com, our WTTJ Page, and our LinkedIn. About our Team AQEMIA brings together a diverse, multidisciplinary team of 80+ professionals based in Paris and London. Our scientists and engineers, including chemists, physicists, machine learning experts, and software engineers, work side by side to push the boundaries of early-stage drug discovery. This close collaboration across disciplines is central to our approach, enabling us to tackle complex scientific challenges from first principles and translate cutting-edge ideas into novel therapeutic candidates. At AQEMIA, team members are encouraged to contribute their expertise, learn from one another, and play an active role in shaping the future of drug invention. About our Engineering Department The Engineering team (~12 people) builds and scales the technical foundations that power Aqemia’s drug discovery engine. Bringing together expertise across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, data engineering, site reliability engineering (SRE), and scientific computing, the team designs and operates robust, secure, and high-performance platforms that enable Aqemia’s scientific and AI teams to experiment, train, deploy, and run models at scale. Their work spans data infrastructure, scientific compute systems, cloud operations, orchestration, observability, CI/CD, developer tooling, and platform scalability. By transforming cutting-edge research into reliable and scalable systems, the team accelerates the discovery of new medicines while ensuring operational excellence and an outstanding developer experience. As Engineering Manager of the Compute team, you will lead a team of 5 engineers responsible for building and evolving the compute platform that powers AQEMIA's scientific simulations, machine learning workloads, and large-scale experimentation. You will combine strong engineering leadership with technical credibility to grow a high-performing team while delivering reliable and scalable platform capabilities.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join Doctolib's Automation Platform (AUTOP) team, which empowers all Doctolib engineers to build, test, and deploy software with confidence and speed. As part of the Platform organization, Autop’s mission is to build and maintain the automation infrastructure and developer tools that enable our engineering teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently. Every feature shipped at Doctolib — from appointment booking to teleconsultation to AI-powered clinical tools — flows through AUTOP's automation infrastructure. We're the platform behind the platform. When product teams ship faster, safer, and with more confidence, it's because AUTOP built the rails they run on. AUTOP (Automation Platform) is responsible for critical developer-facing systems including: CI/CD automation, testing infrastructure (unit, integration, E2E, contract, visual regression), local and ephemeral development environments, release management, dependency management, and developer productivity tooling. WHAT YOU WILL DO As the Engineering Manager for AUTOP, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: PEOPLE LEADERSHIP * Build and lead a high-performing team of 6 engineers who are passionate about developer productivity; * Create a culture where engineers own outcomes, not tasks — where platform adoption and developer satisfaction are the north stars; * Recruit, mentor, and retain top platform engineering talent in a competitive market; * Conduct impactful 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations that help engineers reach their full potential. TECHNICAL STRATEGY & EXECUTION * Define and drive the technical vision for your team's domain (CI/CD, testing infrastructure, developer environments, or release automation); * Make high-impact technical decisions that balance short-term delivery with long-term sustainability and scale; * Set the bar for automation, quality, reliability, and security — your systems must be highly reliable because 800 engineers+ depending on them daily; * Champion a "Platform as a Product" mindset: treat internal developers as customers, measure adoption and satisfaction, iterate based on feedback; * Partner strategically with product teams, Infrastructure Platform, and Applicative Platform to solve cross-cutting challenges; * Drive measurable improvements in developer productivity metrics: build times, deployment frequency, test reliability, time-to-production… supporting Doctolib teams to monitor their metrics (DORA, performance, costs, etc). IMPACT & INFLUENCE * Be a visible technical leader across the organization — your team's work enables everyone else's success; * Influence engineering culture: establish best practices, contribute to technical strategy beyond your team; * Navigate ambiguity and lead through influence, not authority — platform adoption requires trust and advocacy, not mandates. About our tech environment * Our automation platform supports a hybrid architecture: a large Ruby on Rails monolith and an expanding ecosystem of modern microservices (Java, Kotlin, TypeScript) * We maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, testing frameworks across multiple languages, and infrastructure-as-code solutions * Our systems handle thousands of CI builds daily, manage comprehensive test suites across multiple languages, and manage deployments across multiple environments for 200+ development teams * Our stack includes: Ruby, Java, Kotlin, Go, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and various testing frameworks * We intentionally leverage AI to improve developer productivity and reliability, in a sustainable manner .
