This is an opportunity to lead complex infrastructure work that directly impacts communities, while growing your career in a collaborative and flexible environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Lead survey operations on highway and infrastructure projects from planning through construction. * Manage survey crews and office staff while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. * Oversee data collection, review, and analysis using Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center. * Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and public agencies on roadway, bridge, and utility projects. * Provide construction staking, cut sheets, quantity estimates, and quality oversight. * Mentor and develop junior team members. WHAT YOU BRING * Professional Survey License (PLS / RLS) strongly preferred. * 8+ years of survey or civil engineering experience with heavy highway focus. * Strong leadership skills with ability to manage teams and budgets. * Advanced knowledge of construction staking, GPS, traversing, and plan interpretation. * Familiarity with DOT standards and heavy highway construction processes. * Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center. You will be equipped with a highly collaborative team of office and field staff, and the autonomy to manage projects from start to finish in an entrepreneurial-style environment. Our diverse project scopes in residential/commercial land development and renewable energy will allow you to cross-market and grow your skill set. Responsibilities: * Collaborate and lead a team responsible for drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents. * Review project survey data utilizing the latest technology and industry software. * Analyze existing site conditions and factors to consider for development including but not limited to legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents. * Plan, organize, and supervise survey crews, technicians, and office staff members. * Provide oversight on large-scale ALTA surveys as they pertain to solar, or wind power generation preferred. * Provide construction-related services and guide junior team members to complete items such as permit applications, cut sheets, quantity estimates, and transmittals; organize site plans, construction plans, construction sheet set-up and assembly and other related construction documents. * Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software packages to complete assignments on time and within prescribed standards and budgets. * Attend paid training and development events, industry conferences, and networking opportunities. * As a subject matter expert and mentor, you will assist with your staff's new hire training plan, career planning, and continuous professional development at Atwell. * Take pride in rewarding and motivating your staff with spot bonuses and Peer Recognition Rewards Qualifications: * Professional Survey License (PLS, PSM) * 8+ plus years of survey industry related work experience * Ability to coach, mentor, and develop a growing team. * Prior experience working with Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred. * The ideal Project Manager will have advanced understanding of; Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Construction Staking, Leveling, Traversing, GPS, Data Collections, Legal Descriptions, Plan interpretations, along with Real Estate Documents #LI-RD1 Pay Range $100,000—$135,000 USD Atwell Benefits: To attract and retain the best professionals in the industry, we aim to provide an excellent working environment and a progressive benefits program designed to support your personal and professional needs. This role is essential to keeping projects organized, compliant, and progressing on schedule by assisting Project Managers and Directors with proposals, project documentation, research, and reporting. Candidates with experience in title, surveying, or land development environments may be a strong fit. Job Description * Provide comprehensive administrative and proposal support to Project Managers and Directors, including preparing correspondence, proposals, permits, reports, meeting minutes, spreadsheets, and work orders; proofreading and editing for accuracy, formatting, grammar, and consistency; and maintaining templates and document standards. * Conduct research and information gathering by reviewing historical and current project resources such as zoning information, title and survey documents, aerial photographs, maps, plats, municipal records, and other public or private data sources; acquire and manage project‑related research materials as needed. * Support project coordination and control by tracking project status, schedules, budgets, and team progress; compiling and summarizing reports and trends; organizing and maintaining project files and job folders; and assisting with adjustments to documentation, schedules, or deliverables as directed. * Ensure quality, compliance, and professionalism by following firm standards and quality guidelines; maintaining accurate and complete project records; preparing inactive project files for archival storage; and interacting professionally with clients, vendors, public agencies, and internal teams. * Support team efficiency and performance objectives by monitoring workload and time efficiency, meeting assigned productivity goals, and maintaining professional knowledge through training, industry resources, and continuous learning.
