Our development team has 16 people. We work in an agile environment, develop iteratively, and take testing seriously. We currently have three specialized product sub-teams — Execution, Data, and Infrastructure — each focused on developing and running their core domain.

About the role A highly skilled and experienced Senior Python Developer is needed to lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable, high-performance software solutions across our enterprise platforms. This role demands deep expertise in Python programming, system architecture, and integration within complex business environments. As a senior member of the development team, this role requires collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders—including data engineers, DevOps, product managers, and business analysts—to deliver robust, secure, and maintainable applications that drive operational excellence and digital transformation. Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain Python applications for financial data processing, modelling, and reporting. * Design scalable microservices and APIs for integration with trading platforms, market data providers, and internal systems. * Collaborate with finance and risk teams to automate workflows and enhance data accuracy and timeliness. * Optimize performance of real-time and batch data pipelines handling large datasets. * Ensure systems meet regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., MiFID II, Basel III, SOX). * Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices in secure and maintainable coding. * Work with DevOps to deploy solutions in cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Required Qualifications Must‑have: * 5+ years of Python development experience in enterprise or financial environments. * Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, derivatives, fixed income) and market data. * Experience with financial libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pydantic, PyTorch, Pandas, PySpark, QuantLib). * Familiarity with trading systems, risk engines, or portfolio management platforms. * Proficiency in cloud technologies, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines. * Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Nice‑to‑have: * Experience in the UK financial sector or financial sector in general. Knowing their strict compliance, risk, and security rules gives you a major edge.
