YOUR (SPACE) MISSION As the Maintenance Engineer High-Tech Laboratories & Production at cosine you ensure the reliability of the advanced equipment that enables the development and production of cutting-edge space instrumentation. From laboratory systems and cleanroom equipment to high-precision production machinery, you play a vital role in keeping our operations running safely, efficiently, and without interruption. You will work in a unique environment where science, engineering, and manufacturing come together. By combining preventive maintenance, technical troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, you directly contribute to the quality, safety, and continuity of projects that support some of the world's most ambitious space missions. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES In this role you will: * Execute, optimize, and continuously improve preventive maintenance plans for laboratory equipment, production machinery, and facility-related systems * Diagnose technical failures, identify root causes, and coordinate effective solutions to minimize downtime and operational impact * Manage spare parts, maintenance materials, and supplier activities to ensure equipment availability and reliability * Maintain accurate maintenance records and asset information within the asset management system and communicate proactively with stakeholders * Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable safety standards and contribute to a safe and reliable working environment YOUR PROFILE We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications: * MBO+ or HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related technical discipline * Experience maintaining technical equipment in a production, laboratory, or other high-tech environment * Experience working with maintenance or asset management systems * VCA-VOL certification or an equivalent safety qualification * Certified for electrical work, or willing to obtain the required certification * Fluent in both Dutch and English, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and operational teams WHAT WE OFFER At cosine, we highly value our employees, and we will support your professional and personal development. YOUR (SPACE) MISSION As the FPGA Engineer at cosine you design and implement high‑performance FPGA image processing solutions that enable next‑generation Earth observation missions. You work at the intersection of electronics and software, turning raw sensor data into usable insights directly on hardware. Your work reduces data bandwidth, increases processing speed, and enables smart instruments that operate autonomously in space. Within cosine Remote Sensing you contribute to compact, high‑precision optical payloads used in real missions, from concept to deployment. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES In this role you will: * Design, implement, and optimise FPGA architectures for real-time image processing pipelines * Translate image processing algorithms into efficient hardware implementations, including filtering, compression, and feature extraction * Perform general FPGA design tasks such as pipeline and architecture definition, building test benches, design verification and validation, and device configuration * Create and maintain board definition files, define I/O architecture, and manage boot configuration, in-flight reprogramming, memory management, and sensor readout * Collaborate with optical, electronics, and software engineers to integrate FPGA solutions into space-borne instruments * Verify and validate FPGA designs through simulation, hardware testing, and system-level integration * Contribute to continuous improvement of processing performance, power efficiency, and reliability for space applications * Expand existing designs to interface and read out to new devices such as imaging detectors and ADCs * Optimise data handling pipelines at challenging data rates, including offloading of CPU workloads into an FPGA YOUR PROFILE We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications: * BSc or equivalentin Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related field * Proven experience with FPGA development and validation using VHDL, Verilog and high level synthesis . YOUR (SPACE) MISSION As the AIV (Assembly, Integration and Verification) Engineer at cosine you turn advanced optical instruments for Earth observation into high-quality systems that deliver reliable, accurate data from space and airborne platforms. You work at the heart of our Remote Sensing activities, where precision assembly, rigorous verification and system insight come together to enable measurement of our planet at an unparalleled level of detail. Your work directly contributes to instruments that support environmental monitoring, climate research and scientific discovery. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES In this role you will: * Assemble, integrate and verify optical and optoelectronic remote sensing instruments in a laboratory or cleanroom environment * Perform functional and performance testing at component and system level, with a focus on optical alignment, calibration and measurement accuracy * Execute and support environmental and qualification testing to ensure reliability in operational conditions * Identify, analyse and resolve technical issues during integration and testing, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams * Maintain clear documentation of procedures, test results and verification status, contributing to project deliverables and reviews YOUR PROFILE We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications: * Bachelor degree in mechanics, aerospace, optics, optomechatronics, precision engineering, electronics or a related field * Around 3 years of experience in assembly and integration of optoelectronic systems or similar high precision systems * Hands-on experience working in a lab or cleanroom environment * Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality hardware and documentation * A proactive, result driven mindset and the ability to collaborate confidently and effectively in multidisciplinary teams * Good verbal and written communication skills and a structured approach to documenting and sharing knowledge WHAT WE OFFER At cosine, we highly value our employees, and we will support your professional and personal development.
