ABOUT THE TEAM The Payments engineering powers the processing of hundreds of billions of dollars in card payments annually, enabling users to accept card payments from Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East regions. As the Engineering Manager for the team, you’ll have responsibility for expanding the reach of Stripe’s global payments network, delivering the best-in-class experience for card payments in these regions. In this role, you’ll be making some of the most significant strategic, product, and technical decisions for card payments at Stripe. The systems this team builds enables our users to create a single integration with Stripe, then take payments across an ever-expanding set of card networks and grow their businesses globally. Minimum requirements * 3+ years of experience in an engineering management role. * 8+ years of full-time software development experience. * Demonstrated track record of successfully hiring, developing, and mentoring engineers. * Ability to lead by example in fast-paced, high-impact, and ambiguous environments. * Commitment to high operational rigor when working with production systems. * Experience building extensible software solutions that scale with business growth. * Adept at thriving in a collaborative, cross-functional, and cross-timezone environment, while fostering a positive team culture. We're looking for a senior Technical Program Manager who's passionate about solving problems in the complex payments landscape, not only serving our customers but also our financial partners and regulatory stakeholders.Payments continues to see innovations such as an acceleration in payment methods coming online in the form of Buy Now Pay Later, Digital Wallets, and Crypto payments. Such payment methods provide more benefits to merchants and enable functionality that was not present before. The Local Payment Methods team builds the platform and enables payment methods that connect to millions of Stripe users globally. We're responsible for building new product experiences that help providers to improve their integration, boost their conversion, and grow their business. We also own the end-to-end journey for users adopting new payment methods. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a TPM, you'll play a key role leading complex programs across multiple engineering, product, and cross-functional (finance, legal, compliance, risk, and other) teams spanning Stripe. You'll be an active contributor to the overall strategy of the program, drive technical decision-making, and drive the execution of the program through all phases from planning to delivery. You'll have the opportunity to implement mechanisms that make your programs effective and scale them to Stripe-level processes. RESPONSIBILITIES * Drive functional and technical delivery of key team and org-wide programs and initiatives. * Collaborate with engineering teams to design, scope, and shepherd features. * Create functional specs, project and release plans, and roadmaps. * Own and execute one or more software engineering programs simultaneously. * Help drive product decisions to align with the program and sometimes broader company initiatives. * Help influence peers and managers, and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity. * Guide and manage the usage of agile methodologies to simplify project delivery. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 6+ years of experience in technical program and product management, with a consistent track record of shipping products with broad and global customer impact * You have a track record of providing solid program management during all phases of software development from kick-off to ship, demonstrating critical thinking and thought leadership throughout. * You're not satisfied with just delivering programs on time—you're discerning about product and infrastructure architecture and can lead technical discussions. * You operate independently and lead efforts across multiple teams and functions, with stakeholders in different disciplines across time zones. * You have strong written and verbal communication skills to build relationships and collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in a global FinTech or payments organization of a global e-commerce company
