SENIOR ORDER TO CASH ACCOUNTANT — FINANCE, SOFIA 📍 Sofia, Bulgaria | Full-time See our Sofia office TEAM DESCRIPTION The Order to Cash (O2C) team sits at the heart of SumUp's Finance function, managing the full revenue cycle — from invoice creation and payment collection through to period-end close, accounts receivable, and revenue recognition. As SumUp's Enterprise and Marketplace channels grow fast, the complexity of our billing operations is increasing, and this role is essential to keeping those processes accurate, compliant, and scalable. You'll take full ownership of some of our highest-impact billing workstreams, acting as the go-to expert for Enterprise partners and marketplace channels at a moment when getting this right really matters. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Own end-to-end billing and reconciliation for marketplace channels (Amazon, eBay, OnBay, TEMU), including settlement posting, AR/AP netting, and discrepancy resolution * Act as the single point of contact for Enterprise and Cooperation hardware billing, managing invoicing, payment follow-up, and revenue recognition across key partner accounts * Calculate and book price protection credits and contractual discounts, validating compliance with partner agreements and ensuring accurate margin reporting * Oversee the full RMA returns process for retailers, partners, and enterprise accounts, applying credit-memo logic and end-to-end control checks * Perform impairment calculations, ageing analysis, and bad debt allowance support, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls * Mentor junior team members and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes as automation initiatives evolve YOU'LL BE GREAT FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE… * Strong knowledge of GAAP, with hands-on experience applying it to complex accounting transactions including journal entries, reconciliations, and trend analysis * Experience managing high-volume accounts receivable processes, including billing, payment allocation, and resolution of complex discrepancies * Ability to prioritise and manage multiple high-impact workstreams independently, maintaining accuracy in a fast-moving and evolving environment * Comfort working with large volumes of transactional data and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with SAP and European VAT is a strong advantage * Proven ability to build trusted relationships with commercial stakeholders such as Key Account Managers or Business Development teams, acting as a reliable finance partner WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN SUMUP 🌍 Opportunity to work with SumUppers globally on large-scale fintech products used by millions of businesses worldwide, from our modern Sofia office. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Produce entity-level tax provisions (current and deferred) and ETR calculations for European entities, posting entries in SAP and maintaining deferred tax roll-forward schedules * Perform monthly reconciliation of all tax-related balance sheet and P&L accounts, executing controls, variance analysis, and maintaining full audit trails * Calculate advance corporate income tax instalment payments across jurisdictions and maintain a tracker of amounts paid versus due * Book and maintain uncertain tax position (UTP) provisions in line with IAS 12 and IFRIC 23, keeping schedules current and audit-ready * Execute entity-level Pillar 2 / GloBE income and adjusted covered tax calculations, ensuring outputs feed into the controlling module accurately and on time * Contribute to the periodic tax reporting package and operate fully within the R2R month-end and quarter-end close calendar YOU'LL BE GREAT FOR THIS ROLE IF… * Strong hands-on experience producing tax provisions under IAS 12, including deferred tax accounting and ETR calculation, gained in a multinational environment * Experience supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation of tax journals, reconciliations, reporting schedules, and audit-ready supporting documentation. * Solid working knowledge of uncertain tax position measurement under IFRIC 23 * Strong understanding of tax balance sheet accounts, journal entries, and reconciliation controls, with the ability to investigate differences and ensure outputs are complete, accurate, and well documented. * Experience preparing documentation and responding to auditor queries in relation to tax provisions, deferred tax, and tax reconciliations. * Confident SAP user with experience in financial modules and tax account reconciliation * Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and reconciliation workbooks * Fluency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly across Finance, Tax, and Controlling teams * Comfortable working in a matrixed finance environment, managing inputs from multiple stakeholders and adapting to evolving processes in a fast-moving business. HEAD OF TAX STRATEGY ABOUT THE TEAM SumUp’s tax team is evolving, and this role will play a critical part in shaping its next chapter. Reporting to the Global Head of Tax, you’ll lead the execution of tax strategy across a complex international business with more than 40+ entities globally, with a strong focus on Europe. This is a high-impact role for a senior tax leader who combines strong technical depth with sound judgement, commercial awareness, and a hands-on approach. You’ll act as a key thought partner to the Global Head of Tax while helping translate strategy into clear, practical execution across the wider tax function.
