About the Role To achieve our visionary goals, we are scaling up our robust engineering team and looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to meet the compelling challenges we face. You can demonstrate previous experience in Release Management, DevOps or similar technical leadership roles. An essential part of your role is to own and continuously improve the software delivery lifecycle. While initially focusing on release coordination and operational excellence, you will progressively drive automation, standardization and engineering improvements to build a scalable and predictable release process. You have an excellent understanding of the SDLC principles, and you speak "the same language" with our software engineers. Your ability to establish release progress reports and communicate them to various business stakeholders is crucial to the success of the mission. You have an analytical and data-driven mindset where reporting on clear established data points is what you consider reliable. You are accountable for successful software releases by proactively removing impediments while continuously improving delivery processes through automation, tooling and engineering best practices. As the DevOps & Release Lead, you lead our DevOps team, ensuring our software delivery process is reliable, efficient and continuously evolving YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES * Plan and coordinate release planning activities with various stakeholders. * Create and maintain release plans and annual release calendar. * Manage risks and remove impediments that affect release scope, schedule or quality. * Measure, monitor and control progress of the main release goals and ensure early warnings and actions in the event of KPI deviations. * Work proactively in enhancing KPI measurements that would secure control and transparency over the release lifecycle based on real data points. * Define and drive improvements to the software delivery process by increasing automation, reducing manual activities and promoting standardization across engineering teams. * Manage relationships and coordinate working dependencies between different scrum teams. * Maintain release artifacts, documentation, and version control records to ensure compliance. * Collaborate with QA teams to ensure comprehensive testing is completed for all releases, including regression testing, performance and security testing. * Conduct Release progress reviews with the relevant business stakeholders. * Secure proper and up-to-date release process documentation. * Perform regular release reporting meetings that keep company stakeholders up to date. * Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, QA Lead and Engineering Managers to secure successful release outcomes. * Work with DevOps engineers to manage and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automation and processes evolve to support efficient and reliable software delivery. * Oversee build and deployment processes, ensuring code is integrated, tested and released seamlessly across internal development environments. * Act as the technical point of contact during release activities and actively participate in troubleshooting issues as they arise. * Lead incident response efforts during release failures, coordinating quick resolutions with technical teams. * Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging automation, engineering excellence and modern software delivery practices. * Lead a team of two DevOps engineers with a direct reporting line. * Manage the DevOps team backlog. * Assume all people management responsibilities. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE Technical Skills * Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. * Proficiency with CI/CD tools (preferably Git Hub, Azure DevOps). * Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git). * Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles would be a plus. Experience * 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Management or related software delivery roles. * Proven experience managing software releases in a complex product development environment. * Experience improving software delivery processes through automation and CI/CD optimization would be considered an advantage. * Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence would be a plus. * People management experience is a plus. Role responsibilities Build & Data Platform Engineering Design and implement scalable data platforms and pipelines across cloud environments (Azure/Fabric, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake). This includes developing reliable batch, streaming, and near-real-time pipelines using technologies such as Spark and Delta Lake, and building ingestion, transformation, and curation workflows for both structured and unstructured data. You will implement modern data architectures including lakehouse patterns and medallion layering (bronze, silver, gold), ensuring systems are reusable, scalable, and aligned with enterprise needs. Enable AI, GenAI & Data Products Deliver high-quality datasets that support analytics, machine learning, causal modeling, and optimization systems. You will enable data pipelines for GenAI use cases (including LLMs, RAG pipelines, and vector-based data flows), as well as agent-based architectures and intelligent workflows, ensuring that data is model-ready and production-grade. Data Modeling, Orchestration & Automation Design scalable logical and physical data models for analytical and operational use cases, ensuring consistency across domains. Orchestrate workflows using tools such as Airflow, dbt, Lakeflow, or equivalents, with strong focus on automation, reliability, and maintainability of end-to-end pipelines. Architecture, Governance & Observability Apply modern architecture patterns including event-driven and streaming architectures, and ensure adherence to best practices in data governance, lineage, quality, and access control (RBAC/ABAC). Establish strong data observability, including monitoring of data freshness, pipeline reliability, and SLA adherence, ensuring systems remain trustworthy and production-ready. Data Serving, Integration & Optimization Enable data serving layers (APIs, feature inputs, analytical endpoints) to support downstream systems, including ML and AI platforms. Continuously monitor and optimize pipelines and infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Cloud & Platforms (Key Requirement) Experience with one or more major cloud platforms, with preference for Microsoft Azure / Fabric, as well as AWS or GCP. Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake is expected. Architecture & Systems Thinking Experience with lakehouse architectures and distributed data systems, and strong understanding of scalability, reliability, and performance considerations in data pipelines.
