As a Data Engineer at Waitwhile you’ll play a foundational role in building and maintaining a scalable, secure, and compliant
infrastructure that powers Waitwhile’s intelligence. You’ll be responsible for the complete data lifecycle: managing ETL/ELT
pipelines to centralize data, orchestrating transformations, serving our Analytics APIs, and ensuring high-value insights are
pushed back into business tools. In this role, you will also serve as a technical advisor to Product and Leadership on how to
operationalize AI.

THE ROLE As a member of our Service Intelligence team, you’ll focus on the backend systems, infrastructure, and data foundations that power Waitwhile at enterprise scale and enable our clients to access valuable insights on their daily operations. You’ll work closely with our VP of Engineering and our cross-functional engineering teams, contributing to scalable, high-impact features that improve both our platform and user experience. This is also where we’re building the foundation for our AI initiatives, working with rich operational data to unlock smarter insights around things like wait times, staffing, and service performance. Our tech stack includes TypeScript and JavaScript, NodeJS, Firebase, Firestore, BigQuery, Angular, and React, running on Linux in Google Cloud Platform. While engineers may specialize deeply, Waitwhile increasingly values end-to-end product ownership and cross-stack collaboration as the organization scales. This position is based in Stockholm at our offices on Kungsgatan 32. We’re a hybrid company and prefer that you work from the office at least 2 days per week, as we believe the best product gets built together, live. WHAT YOU’LL OWN * Full engineering lifecycle including technical design, implementation, automated testing, deployment, and production monitoring. * Drive improvements to engineering best practices, tooling, and code quality. * Scalability, reliability, observability, and compliance across services and internal platforms. * Design, implement, and evolve APIs, workflows, and backend services that support core product functionality. * Improve monitoring, logging, deployment systems, and operational tooling to support long-term platform health. WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED * 6+ years of experience building web applications. * Strong experience with Node.js and designing scalable backend architectures. * Cloud hosting and operations. * Experience selecting and operating the right data storage solutions to ensure application responsiveness and scalability. * Comfort in collaborating across the stack to support complete product experiences. * Great communication skills, comfortable explaining complex concepts to cross-functional teams. * A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Bonus Skills & Attributes: * Previously worked at a startup or on a SaaS product. * Experience with infrastructure as code. * Direct experience with Firebase, Firestore, and/or BigQuery. * Experience with monitoring, reliability engineering, and operational best practices. * Security-minded approach to platform development. At CDON Group, data is a critical asset used across the entire organization, but also as a foundation for integrations, automation, and future AI-driven use cases. We’re now rebuilding and modernizing our data platform, and we’re looking for a Analytics Engineer who wants to work hands-on with data pipelines, infrastructure, and custom-built data solutions. We are dedicated to providing great online shopping experiences and are on the lookout for a Data Engineer to join us on this journey for our two Nordic marketplaces: CDON and Fyndiq. About the role As a Analytics Engineer at CDON, you will have a central role in building, operating, and evolving the technical foundations of our data platform. You will work with data modeling in dbt, but also take responsibility for pipelines, infrastructure, and services that live outside the data warehouse. You will be part of a small data team, working closely with the wider tech organization and with stakeholders across the business. The role includes both exploratory work and building solutions that are later productized and maintained together with the tech team. Responsibilities includes * Model and transform data using dbt and contribute to core data models * Build, deploy, and maintain data pipelines from multiple source systems * Develop and maintain Python-based services and applications for data use cases * Work with infrastructure and deployments using Docker and Terraform * Operate and maintain our self-hosted Airbyte setup for data ingestion * Build technical solutions to support automation, data feeds, and AI use cases * Troubleshoot and improve existing data flows and integrations * Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and build sustainable technical solutions Our tech stack is centered around dbt and Google BigQuery, together with Python, GCP, Docker, Terraform, and modern data ingestion and BI tools. Qualifications and requirements We’re looking for someone analytical and technically curious, who is comfortable working with both data and infrastructure. You enjoy solving practical problems and working in an environment where not everything is fully defined. We’d especially like to see: * 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role * Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling * Experience writing Python for data pipelines or services * Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud * Familiarity with Docker and infrastructure as code, such as Terraform * Experience working with data ingestion tools and pipelines * Post-secondary education in engineering, computer science, or similar, or equivalent work experience * Professional fluency in English, Swedish is a plus. Experience with self-hosted data tools, AI or ML-related workloads, and working in small tech organizations is considered a strong merit.
