We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who wants to work closely with our most strategic customers and play a key role in shaping the future of education technology. This role is based out of our Stockholm or Växjö office, with regular collaboration across teams and customers. About the role This is not a traditional developer role. You will act as an extension of our customers’ technical teams, working closely with municipalities and public sector organizations. The role combines deep technical expertise with strong business understanding and offers high autonomy from idea to delivery. You will operate in a flexible environment, partly outside our standard product lifecycle, enabling fast, agile deliveries with immediate impact. Key responsibilities: Take full ownership from discovery phase and requirements analysis through to delivery. Act as an extension of the customer’s technical team, participating in technical forums and meetings Work hands-on with data extraction, cloud integrations, APIs, and modern data platforms Navigate IST’s data landscape, including shared services and product-specific databases Act as the bridge between customers and IST’s product organization Collaborate closely with Product Owners and internal experts to ensure fast, effective delivery Identify scalable patterns and contribute to strengthening IST’s EduCloud and data platform Role qualifications We believe you have the following competence profile to succeed in this role: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience Strong experience in: Data extraction and data integration Cloud environments API integrations Modern data platforms Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems Comfortable working close to customers and owning end-to-end delivery Consulting background is a plus Ability to combine deep technical expertise with business understanding Confident and credible in customer-facing situations Strong communicator, fluent in Swedish and English Experience in the education or public sector is a plus Thrives in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same About IST At IST, the buyer and the end user are often structurally separated. Dina arbetsuppgifter Som Forward Deployed Engineer kommer du att arbeta i kundens satsning inom teknisk transformation, där fokus ligger på att bygga gemensamma plattformar, komponenter och arbetssätt som kan användas brett inom organisationen. Rollen kombinerar avancerad teknik med nära samarbete med verksamheten och innebär att du hjälper olika team att komma vidare snabbare i sin utveckling. Du kommer att arbeta praktiskt med komplexa tekniska problem inom olika produktområden. Det kan handla om att bygga AI-baserade lösningar, sätta upp molnmiljöer, utveckla återanvändbara komponenter, etablera CI/CD-flöden eller guida team i hur de kan arbeta mer modernt och effektivt. Arbetet sker nära kundens produkt- och affärsverksamheter. Teamet fungerar inte som en traditionell IT- eller konsultorganisation, utan kliver in där det finns behov av teknisk riktning, gemensamma strukturer och praktiskt stöd. Målet är att skapa tempo, bygga förmåga och lämna över lösningar och arbetssätt som verksamheten kan driva vidare självständigt. En viktig del av rollen är att kunna växla mellan hands-on utveckling och förändringsarbete. I vissa initiativ kan tyngdpunkten ligga på kodning och teknisk problemlösning, i andra på att hålla workshops, skapa förståelse och hjälpa andra team att börja använda nya plattformar, verktyg och arbetssätt. Du kommer att arbeta i miljöer där lösningen inte alltid är definierad från början. Det innebär att du behöver kunna identifiera behov, skapa struktur i komplexa frågeställningar och bidra till tekniska vägval som stärker den långsiktiga utvecklingen. The role As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Legora, you'll sit at the intersection of product engineering and customer success — embedded directly with our most complex enterprise clients to make our AI-native platform work seamlessly in their environments. You'll write real code, solve real integration challenges, and leave behind infrastructure that outlasts your visit. What you'll be doing * Embed with enterprise customers during and after deployment, writing production-grade code to bridge Legora's platform with their existing legal tech stack * Own the full technical scoping process: gather requirements, design integration architecture, and deliver working solutions end-to-end * Build and maintain reusable connectors, automation scripts, and tooling that accelerate future customer deployments * Debug and resolve complex production issues at the intersection of customer environments and Legora's platform — often under time pressure * Act as the technical voice of the customer internally — surface friction points, edge cases, and integration gaps directly to our product and engineering teams * Partner with Sales and Customer Success to scope new deals and expand existing accounts where technical complexity is a deciding factor * Work closely with Engineering and Product to deliver successful integrations and improve general product offering Who you are * A strong generalist engineer comfortable writing backend code and working across APIs, auth protocols, and data pipelines * Experienced in customer-facing technical roles — pre-sales engineering, solutions engineering, or embedded delivery — where you've had to own outcomes, not just hand off specs * Familiar with enterprise integration patterns: SSO (SAML, OIDC), REST and webhook-based APIs, and document management systems like iManage, SharePoint, or NetDocuments * Able to move fast without cutting corners — you know when to build something robust and when to ship something good enough to unblock a customer * A clear communicator who can hold a technical conversation with an IT administrator and a strategic one with a managing partner — sometimes in the same meeting * Comfortable with ambiguity and energised by early-stage problems that don't have a playbook yet Legora is an Equal Opportunity Employer At Legora, we believe great teams are built on diversity of thought and experience.
