The Revenue and Financial Automation (RFA) team at Stripe is building a modern, revenue-focused, financial management platform for
fast-growing, digital-native companies.
Hundreds of thousands of businesses of all sizes and types use Stripe Billing to collect revenue for recurring and one-time
payments across a variety of different pricing models—from selling SaaS subscriptions, to orchestrating multi-stage contracts,
delivering Usage-Based Billing, and providing recovery and retention tools to prevent customer churn.
As an engineer on the team, you'll be responsible for shaping and building a suite of products that let our users model and
operate their business more efficiently. You'll work on projects that span technologies, systems, and processes where you'll
design, build, test, and ship code every day. In this cross-functional role, you'll collaborate with experts in infrastructure,
security, design, and operations to build business-critical internal and external features that power Stripe users around the
world.

ABOUT THE TEAM Revenue and Financial Automation Sub-org within Revenue and Financial Automation: Billing. The Revenue and Financial Automation team at Stripe builds software tools that accelerate the economic and technological growth of global businesses by helping them operationalize their commercial relationships with customers. Our offerings include a billing platform, SaaS analytics, data services, and finance automation products that our customers creatively combine to support various revenue models. Team Matching: exact team matching for one of the subteams will begin during final stages. WHAT YOU'LL DO We're looking for engineers who want to build the distributed systems, APIs, and backend services that power Stripe's revenue and billing platform. You'll focus on API design and performance, service reliability, and distributed systems challenges, while collaborating across the stack to ship complete solutions for millions of businesses. RESPONSIBILITIES * Scope, architect, and lead technical projects to build and scale distributed backend systems and APIs * Design, build, and maintain reliable, high-performance APIs and backend services * Own service reliability, including setting performance targets and driving improvements across the stack * Debug production issues across distributed services and multiple levels of the stack * Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, system performance, and a sustainable technical foundation * Teach and mentor engineers to grow into the next generation of leaders at Stripe * Partner with engineers and product managers across infrastructure and product teams to deliver well-integrated platform services WHO YOU ARE We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 5+ years of industry software engineering experience (does not include internships or co-ops) * Strong coding skills in any programming language (we understand new languages can be learned on the job so our interview process is language agnostic) * Strong collaboration skills, can work across workstreams within your team and contribute to your peers' success * Direct project leadership and mentorship experience. Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, with an entrepreneurial mindset. * Interest in working as a generalist across varying technologies and stacks to solve problems and delight both internal and external users PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Familiarity with event-driven architectures * Experience with subscription management, usage-based billing, or financial reporting systems * Interest in financial infrastructure and how businesses manage their revenue operations

ABOUT THE TEAM The Support Experience engineering teams build and improve Stripe’s user support from end to end: how users get help within our products, how they get in touch with us when they have questions, and how our teams use internal tools to answer those questions. We’re accountable for the quality and reliability of this support stack and we use data and firsthand user research to continuously improve it. Providing great support to users of all sizes is culturally important to everyone at Stripe. We are a group of capable, friendly, user-oriented engineers that partner closely on this problem with Stripe’s world-class design, product, and operational teams. This includes the external-facing support interfaces (https://support.stripe.com/), content, entry points, internal tooling, case routing, and helping product teams across the company reduce support volume by improving our products. WHAT YOU’LL DO As a Full Stack Software Engineer on the Support Experience team, you will build engaging, responsive user interfaces that make it truly enjoyable to get help from Stripe. You will have the opportunity to scale the contact platform that connects Stripe users with the teams that are best equipped to help them. This might involve implementing new API endpoints for use across multiple products, iterating on data pipelines to maximize visibility into our support operations, or adding to our billing pipeline so that we can offer paid support plans in new regions. We're also at the center of a genuine AI inflection point. Stripe's support operation is mid-transformation — AI-driven interactions have crossed a major threshold, and 2026 is about pushing that further. RESPONSIBILITIES * Build, operate, and improve support products for all of Stripe’s users, from one-person startups to Premium Support users and large enterprises. * Work side-by-side with user-facing teams to understand their needs, develop short-term and long-term solutions, and deploy those solutions across our global 24/7 support operation. * Improve the internal tools that empower our user-facing teams to build new case-solving workflows, publish dynamic, localized content to our user-facing support site, and answer every support request with the right context for any user. * Own problems from end to end, managing complexity and engaging directly with stakeholders to think through everything from business impact, to reliability and operability, to the pixel-perfection of individual support interactions. * Uphold Stripe’s high standards for engineering and product quality and mentor newer team members to do the same.
