If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity. SENIOR ML ENGINEER RECOMMENDER SYSTEMS, DEVELOPER ADVOCACY | US | REMOTE This is a fully remote position and we're considering candidates in the US. The Opportunity: Grafana Labs is building an Interactive Learning system, an open source, in-product learning experience that helps users learn and succeed without leaving Grafana. A central part of that vision is a personalized recommendation system that helps each user discover the next guide, action, or product experience most likely to help them succeed. Today, the Interactive Learning tool includes a rule-based recommendation engine that provides useful contextual recommendations. We are hiring an ML Engineer to lead its evolution into an increasingly personalized, continuously improving system driven by real-time product behavior, content metadata, customer context, and experimentation. This is an applied product data science role. You will personally build, deploy, and operate recommendation models, design experiments, establish evaluation methodology, and define the scientific roadmap. You will partner closely with software engineers who own the production recommender codebase and with an existing Data Analyst who supports measurement, instrumentation, and analysis across Developer Advocacy. What You’ll Be Doing: The long-term vision is ambitious, but we do not expect it to arrive in one release. We are looking for someone who can understand the whole problem, establish strong foundations, and ship measurable improvements into the existing recommender one iteration at a time. * Evolve the Interactive Learning Plugin's recommendation system * Develop increasingly personalized approaches to candidate selection, ranking, sequencing, and next-best-action recommendations. * You’ll own a real-time recommendation service * Build and operate applied models * Develop, validate, version, monitor, and iterate on models used by the recommendation system. * You’ll own model training & serving * Define what recommendation quality means * Develop offline, online, and longitudinal measures of recommendation performance. * You’ll own feature pipelines, monitoring of the model and architecture * Ship incremental improvements * Use the data and infrastructure available today while identifying the instrumentation and platform capabilities needed tomorrow. * Integrate improvements into the existing recommender rather than waiting for a complete replacement system. * Partner across disciplines * Work closely with software engineers & data analysts to productionize models and integrate them safely into the recommender service. * Partner with the Product Analytics team on metric definitions, instrumentation, data quality, dashboards, and experiment analysis. * Collaborate with Developer Advocacy, Docs, Product, Engineering, GTM, and other teams to translate ambiguous needs into testable hypotheses and measurable product decisions. * Explain modeling choices, tradeoffs, uncertainty, and results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. What Makes You a Great Fit: We know it is rare to find everything. Strong candidates should demonstrate credible ability across all three core areas below and be particularly strong in at least two. * Recommendation and personalization science: you have built recommendation, ranking, search, matching, propensity, or next-best-action systems. You are comfortable beginning with simple, explainable approaches when they are the best way to learn. * HTTP/gRPC, streaming, Go/TypeScript previous experience in distributed systems * Applied model ownership. You have personally built, validated, monitored, and iterated on models used in a product or operational environment. You can work effectively in version-controlled codebases and collaborate with engineers on production implementation. You should also be a strong product thinker and technical communicator. You can take an ambitious and ambiguous objective, identify the most important unknowns, and create a sequence of models and experiments that steadily improves the product. Bonus Points For: * Experience with content, education, onboarding, or learning recommendation systems * Experience with SaaS product telemetry and customer-account data * Experience using warehouse-scale behavioral data * Experience with directed graphs, sequence models, or prerequisite-aware recommendations * Experience with contextual bandits or other exploration strategies * Familiarity with Grafana or the broader observability ecosystem * Experience with open source software or transparent development practices * Experience working with privacy, fairness, explainability, or responsible personalization constraints Compensation & Rewards: In the United States, the base compensation range for this role is $154,445 - $185,334. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process. All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs' success. We believe in shared outcomes—RSUs help us stay aligned and invested as we scale globally. *Compensation ranges are country specific. If you are applying for this role from a different location than listed above, your recruiter will discuss your specific market’s defined pay range & benefits at the beginning of the process. Why You’ll Thrive at Grafana Labs: * 100% Remote, Global Culture - As a remote-only company, we bring together talent from around the world, united by a culture of collaboration and shared purpose. * Scaling Organization – Tackle meaningful work in a high-growth, ever-evolving environment. * Transparent Communication – Expect open decision-making and regular company-wide updates. * Innovation-Driven – Autonomy and support to ship great work and try new things. * Open Source Roots – Built on community-driven values that shape how we work. * Empowered Teams – High trust, low ego culture that values outcomes over optics. * Career Growth Pathways – Defined opportunities to grow and develop your career. * Approachable Leadership – Transparent execs who are involved, visible, and human. * Passionate People – Join a team of smart, supportive folks who care deeply about what they do. * In-Person onboarding - We want you to thrive from day 1 with your fellow new ‘Grafanistas’ to learn all about what we do and how we do it. * Balance is Key - We operate a global annual leave policy of 30 days per annum. 3 days of your annual leave entitlement are reserved for Grafana Shutdown Days to allow the team to really disconnect. *We will comply with local legislation where applicable. ABOUT CLICKHOUSE Recognized on the 2025 Forbes Cloud 100 list, ClickHouse is one of the most innovative and fast-growing private cloud companies. With more than 3,000 customers and ARR that has grown over 250 percent year over year, ClickHouse leads the market in real-time analytics, data warehousing, observability, and AI workloads. The company’s sustained, accelerating momentum was recently validated by a $400M Series D financing round. Over the past three months, customers including Capital One, Lovable, Decagon, Polymarket, and Airwallex have adopted the platform or expanded existing deployments. These customers join an established base of AI innovators and global brands such as Meta, Cursor, Sony, and Tesla. We’re on a mission to transform how companies use data. Come be a part of our journey! We are looking for a GTM Engineer to build the AI and automation that make ClickHouse's go-to-market motion faster, smarter, and more scalable. This is a builder role. You will design, build, and ship the systems, agents, and workflows that take manual work off the team and put usage and customer signals to work across the lifecycle. ClickHouse runs on a consumption model, where the returns from instrumenting and automating the customer journey are large and mostly uncaptured. This role exists to capture them. As part of the Revenue Operations team, you will work directly with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Marketing, and RevOps to find the highest-value opportunities and turn them into working systems. This is an individual contributor role for someone who wants to build, own what they ship, and set the standard for how AI shows up in our go-to-market. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING * Design, build, and ship AI and automation across the GTM motion: prospecting and enrichment, lead routing and activation, outbound and follow-up, deal and technical sales support, and expansion and retention signals. * Build agents and workflows that run reliably at scale and take repetitive work off Sales, Solutions Architecture, and Marketing. * Instrument the customer lifecycle. Connect the GTM systems and data so usage and telemetry signals flow to the right place and trigger the right action automatically. * Partner with the field to find where AI and automation create real gains, and turn those opportunities into systems people actually use. * Own what you build end-to-end. Design it, deploy it, measure whether it moves a real number, and keep improving it. Stand up evals and monitoring so AI output stays reliable in production. * Set the standards and guardrails for AI in GTM: data quality, prompt and eval discipline, human review where it matters, and controls that keep automated actions safe. * Track the AI and automation tooling landscape and bring the best of it into how ClickHouse goes to market. WHAT YOU BRING ALONG * 5+ years building automation and tooling in a GTM, RevOps, or growth engineering context, with systems you have shipped and run in production. * Production experience with the GTM stack: Salesforce as the system of record, Gong and Gong Engage for conversation intelligence and sequencing, and the engineering layer beneath them: Vercel, Clay, n8n, enrichment providers, and both transactional and analytical databases (Postgres and ClickHouse). You have shipped and operated these in production at real scale. * Hands-on development in Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript. * Fluency with modern AI tooling: LLM APIs, agent and orchestration frameworks, prompting, evals, and retrieval with embeddings and vector search. You know how to get reliable behavior out of probabilistic systems, and you use eval and observability tooling like Langfuse to keep them reliable in production. * Strong data-activation skills: SQL, APIs, and integrations, transformation with dbt, and moving warehouse data into the GTM stack and back. * A builder who ships. You are comfortable owning something from idea to working system, and you measure it by whether it runs reliably and moves a real number. * Owner-operator mindset. You treat what you build as a system you own end-to-end: you build it, you run it, you fix it when it breaks, and you keep making it better. * Judgment about where AI and automation help and where they create risk. You know when to automate a workflow fully, when to keep a human in the loop, and when to leave a process alone. * Familiarity with usage-based or consumption-based business models is a plus. You understand how usage and telemetry signals drive expansion and retention. * Strong written and verbal communication. Comfortable partnering across the field and explaining what your systems do and why. * Bachelor's degree in engineering required. A master's degree is a plus. The typical starting salary for this role in the US is $145,000—$195,000 USD The typical starting salary for this role in US Premium Markets is $165,000—$225,000 USD COMPENSATION For roles based in the United States, the typical starting salary range for this position is listed above. In certain locations, such as the San Francisco Bay Area and the New York City Metro Area, a premium market range may apply, as listed. These salary ranges reflect what we reasonably and in good faith believe to be the minimum and maximum pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation may be higher or lower than the amounts listed, and the ranges may be subject to future adjustments. Position Summary We are seeking a forward-thinking marketing operations manager who can independently own the systems, processes, and measurement framework that power modern B2B demand generation and account-based marketing. This is a senior individual-contributor role responsible for translating business goals into scalable marketing automation, clean data flows, actionable reporting, and a pragmatic MarTech roadmap. This role serves as the business owner for core marketing operations capabilities across HubSpot, Marketo, and connected GTM systems, with full accountability for campaign reporting, attribution, lead lifecycle design, routing logic, governance, and continuous optimization. The ideal candidate is both highly hands-on and highly strategic: someone who can improve today’s execution while also defining how the function should evolve. Primary Responsibilities * Own the end-to-end marketing automation ecosystem across HubSpot and Marketo, including program architecture, workflow design, governance, release management, and operational best practices. * Define and maintain the MarTech roadmap for top-of-funnel and ABM operations, including evaluation, prioritization, implementation support, adoption planning, and ROI measurement for platforms such as Salesforce integrations, ZoomInfo, LeanData, 6sense, Demandbase, and related tools. * Establish and govern campaign measurement standards, including campaign hierarchy, UTM governance, naming conventions, source tracking, program templates, and reporting definitions that enable consistent analysis across channels. * Own marketing attribution strategy and reporting, including attribution model design, campaign influence logic, funnel definitions, source-of-truth documentation, executive dashboards, and insight generation across lead, account, pipeline, and revenue performance. * Architect and optimize lead lifecycle processes across inquiry, qualification, nurturing, MQL, SAL, opportunity creation, and account engagement, ensuring definitions, stage progression, and service-level expectations are operationally sound and measurable. * Design, implement, and continuously refine lead scoring, enrichment, normalization, deduplication, and routing logic, with the majority of workflow orchestration living in the marketing automation platform and coordinated appropriately with Salesforce and LeanData where needed. * Build and maintain high-quality reporting for campaign, funnel, and ABM performance; translate data into practical recommendations that improve targeting, conversion rates, speed-to-lead, program mix, and investment decisions. * Develop practical AI-enabled workflows that improve marketing operations efficiency and quality, such as campaign QA, segmentation support, reporting narratives, anomaly detection, tagging/classification, enrichment support, and workflow optimization. * Partner closely with marketing, sales, sales operations, and revenue operations stakeholders to gather requirements, align processes, document standards, and implement scalable operating models that support growth. * Own marketing data quality and governance within HubSpot and Marketo, including field standards, lifecycle integrity, list strategy, consent and suppression logic, audit routines, and compliance with applicable privacy and email regulations. * Create, maintain, and improve durable process documentation, operating procedures, and system diagrams so that complex workflows are understandable, auditable, and repeatable. Required Qualifications * 6+ years of progressive experience in marketing operations, revenue operations, or demand generation operations within a B2B environment. * Advanced, hands-on expertise administering both HubSpot and Marketo in a complex demand generation environment. * Strong working knowledge of Salesforce architecture and integration patterns, including object relationships, campaign structure, sync behavior, field mapping, and downstream reporting implications. * Demonstrated ownership of marketing campaign reporting, attribution, influence modeling, funnel analytics, and executive-facing dashboarding. * Deep experience designing and managing lead lifecycle frameworks, lead scoring, data enrichment, segmentation, routing, and SLA-based handoff processes. * Experience with key ecosystem tools such as ZoomInfo, LeanData, and 6sense, Demandbase, or other ABM platforms. * Strong analytical ability, including comfort working with large datasets, diagnosing process issues, and turning findings into system or process changes. * Ability to work independently, prioritize across competing requests, and bring a clear vision for how the role, systems, and roadmap should evolve over time. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical workflows and explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders. * Practical experience applying AI to operational use cases in marketing, with an emphasis on quality, guardrails, efficiency, and measurable business value. Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting enterprise B2B sales motions, multi-segment GTM strategies, or account-based marketing programs. * Experience building or governing reporting in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio. * Knowledge of webhooks, APIs, middleware, or advanced integration troubleshooting within a GTM systems environment. * Strong understanding of data privacy, consent management, and email compliance requirements such as GDPR and CAN-SPAM. * SQL, spreadsheet modeling, or advanced data visualization skills. Success Indicators * Campaign reporting is trusted, timely, and standardized across demand generation and ABM programs. * Attribution and funnel metrics are clearly defined, consistently applied, and used in planning and investment decisions. * Lead scoring, routing, and lifecycle automation are accurate, scalable, and aligned with sales follow-up expectations. * The MarTech stack is intentionally managed, with a visible roadmap, clear ownership, and measured value from key platforms. * AI-assisted workflows improve operational speed and quality without weakening governance, data integrity, or reporting trust. Working Conditions & Hiring Process * U.S. Work Location Requirement: All employees must reside in and perform work within the United States. We do not support international remote work arrangements for this role. * Travel Expectations: While this is a remote position, occasional travel may be required for team meetings, company events, conferences, summits, etc. Candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed. * On-Camera Work Environment: We operate in a highly collaborative, remote, on-camera culture. Employees are expected to be on camera during meetings unless extenuating circumstances apply. * Recorded Video Interviews: All video interviews conducted during the hiring process will be recorded to support internal hiring consistency and process improvement. * Background Checks: Employment with Penn Foster Group is contingent upon successfully completing applicable pre-employment screening requirements, which may include verification of employment history, education, and criminal background, where permitted by law. * Identity Verification (Form I-9): As part of our onboarding process, all hires must complete employment eligibility verification in compliance with federal law. This includes remote Form I-9 verification, which may require an in-person identity verification step with an authorized representative.
