ABOUT THE TEAM The Complex Tax Operations team supports the TaxJar product and broader Tax Operations and Delivery teams by increasing operational effectiveness.  The team resolves complex operational issues and escalations while helping the organization to support new capabilities before they scale. WHAT YOU’LL DO As technology evolves, so do our tax reporting requirements and filing capabilities.  Our indirect obligations and filing requirements continue to grow with the business, and we are looking for someone who can not only maintain but help further build our path to global sales tax execution.  This individual will need to be well versed in indirect non-US tax requirements, registration and filing, and be able to work with our talented cross-functional teams who support the indirect tax function. RESPONSIBILITIES * Own high-risk, cross-functional escalations that do not have a clear playbook * Drive accountability through metrics, project tracking, and operational reporting * Investigate recurring issues and identify root causes * Partner cross-functionally to remove blockers and prevent repeat failures * Serve as an escalation partner for issues requiring leadership visibility, root cause thinking, or coordinated resolution * Support operational readiness and respond quickly to external changes impacting the organization * Ensure timely follow-through and closure on issues, decisions, and action items * Provide visibility into friction points, risks, and remediation strategies WHO YOU ARE We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. * Clear communicator: You translate complex research into insights that drive decisions * Collaborative partner: You work effectively with operations teams, product, and leadership * Systems thinker: You see how operational pieces connect and look for leverage points for improvement * Builder mindset: You don't just answer questions—you build infrastructure so teams can answer their own MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 2+ years of relevant indirect filing experience in VAT and/or GST/HST * Deep knowledge of global indirect tax issues and solutions in the technology industry * Proven ability to investigate complex issues and drive them to resolution * Ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency and accuracy * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to research and communicate complex technical tax issues clearly to non-tax team members and work effectively across functional teams * Comfort working in ambiguity and high-accountability environments PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * An advanced degree or professional qualification in tax or accounting (CPA, Chartered Accountant) * Comfortable working with LLM and/or SQL knowledge * Experience with non-US tax registrations and communicating with international tax authorities * Experience in tax operations, financial services, or regulated operational environments * Understanding of operational workflows (filing processes, user operations, risk management) * Experience partnering with operations leads and data analysts

Your mission is to help our clients, some of the most sophisticated tax and legal advisory teams in the world, get the absolute most out of our platform. * Acting as a thought partner to tax partners, legal advisory leaders, and consulting teams - building trusted relationships, addressing tricky pain points, and identifying high-value opportunities for them to scale their use of Legora across service lines and jurisdictions. * Working together with Go To Market and Customer Success in taking full ownership of client relationships - from running pilots with key practice areas, to onboarding new team members across tax, legal and consulting functions, and ultimately guiding firm-wide adoption across Big 4 and professional services firms. * Be the voice of tax and legal advisory users inside Legora - sharing insights from tax structuring teams, regulatory advisory practices, and legal consulting functions that directly inform product development, roadmap priorities, and strategic direction. * Delivering clear, confident product demos and training that bring the power of our platform to life - whether you're presenting to a tax partner, rolling out to a global advisory team, or training legal consulting professionals. * Documenting best practices from leading professional services firms, contribute to the development of scalable playbooks, and help shape how we grow this function globally. * Confidently helping tax and legal advisory teams navigate one of the biggest shifts in how professional services operate - from evaluating the ROI and competitive advantage of AI to clearly mapping how AI will impact different service lines, from tax compliance to regulatory advisory. What You Bring You come from the world of tax and legal advisory; but you've never been content with how things have always been done. You may have trained at a Big 4 firm, working across tax structuring, legal advisory, or consulting. Perhaps you've specialised in legal operations, innovation, or technology implementation within a professional services environment. Maybe you've even moved into legal tech or consultancy, helping advisory teams modernize and scale. Either way, you know how tax and legal advisory teams think, work, and (sometimes) struggle and you're ready to help them level up with technology.
