Software Engineering Intern – Future Mobility & Safety Systems

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our distributed engineering team and play a key role in building the payment solutions of the future. You will work on our .NET microservices backend — primarily hosted in Azure, with Corniche as our API-driven core banking system at its heart — collaborating with engineers across Borås, Stockholm, Gdansk, Málaga, and the Czech Republic. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will contribute to technical direction, share knowledge across the team, and help shape our platform and engineering culture. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead the design and development of microservices and their architecture using .NET Core * Drive cloud-based solution design, ensuring robust, scalable, and reliable services on Azure Cloud Native * Oversee CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure Pipelines * Optimize systems and applications for high performance, reliability, and maintainability * Implement and improve logging and observability using OpenTelemetry * Share knowledge and support developers of varying seniority, contributing to technical and architectural discussions * Collaborate across distributed teams and ensure alignment on technical strategy and best practices WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in C#, .NET Core, and Azure * Proven experience with transaction-intensive systems and agile development processes * Deep understanding of microservices architecture and distributed system design * A collaborative, team-first mindset with a passion for engineering quality * Fluent in English and Swedish * Experience in e-commerce, payments, or finance is a plus, as well as familiarity with systems like Corniche or Mambu WHAT WE OFFER * A hands-on technical role with real impact on platform architecture and direction * The opportunity to work on a modern, unified payment platform serving 14 European markets * A collaborative, distributed team with a strong engineering culture * Growth opportunities both technically and professionally

POSITION OVERVIEW As a Platform Architect, you will be part of our Engineering department, along with the other 70+ engineers working within embedded systems, system software as well as windows applications and web services. You will work in the Engineering team, reporting directly to the Director of Engineering and working alongside the Lead Solution Architect and other system architects situated in other teams. In this position, you play a central role in defining and evolving the architectural vision for our entire product portfolio. You will guide and support system architects embedded in our development teams, ensuring alignment across solutions and technologies. This is a strategic leadership role where your experience and insight will help shape the architectural runway for our future growth in the AGV and AMR market. TO ACHIEVE THE MISSION AND SUCCESS OF THIS POSITION, WE BELIEVE YOU ALREADY HAVE: * Educational background in Computer science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent; * Proven experience in a senior architectural role, ideally guiding architecture across multiple teams or product lines. * At least 5 years of experience working with solution architecture, system design, or software engineering; * Deep understanding of architectural principles, design patterns, and modern software development practices; * Experience working in Scrum/SAFe environments and leading technical initiatives. * Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Fluency in English, both spoken and written; * Strong collaboration and communication skills; * Ability to anticipate, address, and solve complex problems; * Drive to challenge the status quo to create breakthrough innovations; * Flexibility and adaptability in changing circumstances. WE FIND IT BENEFICIAL IF YOU HAVE: * Familiarity with cloud platforms, microservices, APIs, and integration strategies; * Experience working with AGV and AMR, or warehouse automation and intralogistics systems. * Proven experience in risk assessment and designing products that align with regulatory frameworks, for example secure-by-design methodologies and isolation through separation of concerns.
