Let’s go!   Your mission As a Senior Engineer within Bitpanda’s Prime Services team, you will design, build, and scale the low-latency, highly available back-end systems powering our margin trading ecosystem. You will own critical infrastructure spanning leverage and collateral management, real-time risk assessment, and automated liquidation engines. Collaborating closely with product, quantitative, and risk teams, your work will directly shape how clients access leverage and how Bitpanda manages credit risk at scale. What you’ll do * Design and develop scalable, resilient, message-driven services using Java * Write clean and future proof code with 80% unit test test coverage, end to end and integration testing before deploying into event driven microservices architecture * Optimise payment modules/services to ensure reliability, maintainability, performance and scalability  * Drive innovation by researching and adopting the latest trends and technologies in backend development, ensuring our applications remain cutting-edge * Be a technical mentor for junior developers, providing guidance and support to help them grow and excel in their careers Who you are * Advanced knowledge and experience of software development using modern frameworks such as Spring Boot, with Java as your main programming language * Good understanding of relational and non-relational databases (bonus points for experience with Postgres and MongoDB) * Experience creating and maintaining publicly available REST APIs with a keen understanding of performance optimisation and scalability * Practical knowledge in using message-oriented middleware as we’re working with event driven microservices (ideally Apache Kafka or ZeroMQ) * Good understanding of CI/CD: familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes is ideal but any public cloud experience is fine **We offer a comprehensive relocation package to support candidates who are moving to join our team. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for a highly organized and technically proficient Senior Project Manager to lead internal software development projects for Provider Products in a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) domain. This position is crucial for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. As a key member of our team, the Senior Project Manager will collaborate with various departments to align project goals with business objectives, fostering innovation and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines project management expertise with solid understanding of software development technologies and processes, and of healthcare standards, patient safety, and software regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include: * Leading and managing cross-functional AI/software product delivery projects from initiation to release, ensuring alignment with agreed scope, timelines, milestones and governance expectations * Owning the E2E project plan across the full product delivery lifecycle, including planning, execution, design control milestones, verification and validation activities, regulatory documentation dependencies and release readiness * Driving transparency on project status through structured reporting, milestone tracking, dependency management, and executive-level communication * Facilitating effective decision-making for scope, priorities, trade-offs, release planning and change management * Identifying, tracking and managing risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, ensuring timely escalation and mitigation * Organizing and facilitating project meetings, workshops and decision forums with clear agendas, outputs, owners and follow-up actions * Supporting the team in maintaining documentation discipline in line with the quality management system and regulated software/SaMD lifecycle expectations YOUR PROFILE * 5+ years of professional experience in project management, ideally in a software, SaaS, AI or healthcare environment * Proven experience managing cross-functional projects involving multiple departments and stakeholder groups * Experience in working in or close to software product development teams * Experience in regulated environments, medical devices, SaMD, ISO 13485, design controls, verification/validation, or regulatory documentation is a strong plus * Excellent command of MS Office tools and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence * Outstanding communication and facilitation skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders * Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the capability of creating structure where processes are still evolving * Excellent written and spoken English skills BENEFITS * Room for your own ideas and possibility to grow in your role * Friendly and supportive team culture that values diversity * Hybrid work model (home office + in-person collaboration) * Flexible working hours for better work–life balance * Well-equipped workplace in a charming office in central Vienna  * Public transport support * Regular team-building events * Fully stocked kitchen with snacks and drinks * Access to digital mental well-being platform * Corporate Benefits and discounts * Buddy program to help you get started You can expect a gross yearly salary starting at EUR 55,356.- (on full-time basis, 38.5 hours/week based on the collective agreement) with the willingness to overpay according to your qualification and experience.
