The R&D TURBINE department is growing and consequently we are expanding from five to six groups. A Snapshot of Your Day Join our dynamic Remote Diagnostic Center’s Intelligent Statistics & Analytics team (RDC ISA), where expertise is vital in ensuring business continuity. Dive into fleet operational data from Medium, Small, and Aeroderivative Gas Turbines to uncover performance trends that enhance reliability engineering. Lead technical investigations to identify root causes of failures and collaborate with engineering teams to implement effective mitigation strategies. How You’ll Make an Impact You make sure that collection, aggregation and analysis of fleet operational data is made in industry qualitative manner to monitor performance across Medium, Small, and Aeroderivative Gas Turbines. Calculate and report on key reliability indicators, including availability, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Forced Outage Hours (FOH). Identify and present ‘Top Offenders’ to product managers and engineering stakeholders, highlighting primary causes of downtime. Initiate and lead technical investigations to determine root causes of outages and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop mitigation plans. Ensure the quality and integrity of operational statistics while improving processes for data collection and utilization. What You Bring A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related technical field. Significant experience as an Application, Commissioning, Design, or Reliability Engineer, preferably with Siemens Energy gas turbines. Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to manage and interpret large, complex technical datasets. Proficiency in SQL and a solid understanding of gas turbine systems and operational statistics analysis. Excellent collaboration, influencing skills, and technical communication abilities to engage stakeholders effectively. About the team The RDC for Gas Services consists of two departments, one for the daily operations to deliver active monitoring with notifications & monitoring reports (RDC AIM) and one for the development and sustaining of analytics & Operation Statistics for the distributed fleet. The team RDC ISA are today eight engineers with various backgrounds in programming, data science & mechanical engineering. RDC ISA supports the RDC AIM team with improving & developing new analytics to detect symptoms of failures to prevent forced outages and collects, aggregates, calculates and report statistics for AGT, MGT and SGT fleet. The reliability engineers in RDC ISA supports both CTS internally, mainly CTS Technical support & CTS Customer Fleet managers but also the wider business as product owners as well as external customers with relevant Operation Statistics. We are seeking a hands-on Control Systems Engineer to lead and support the development and sustaining of SIMATIC SPPA-T3000 and PCS 7 control system for our medium gas turbines. As a part of our team, you will develop and maintain control system software applications for our medium gas turbines to ensure our products meet the requirements set in the market. The position requires close collaboration and working alongside other departments and designers to integrate control system into the overall design of MGT products. How You Will Make an Impact Be a part of a highly skilled development team responsible for the development and maintenance of control system software applications for the MGT products. Be responsible for the engineering work and technical solutions in the assigned development projects, working closely with the project team and project manager to ensure that the design meets specified requirements aligned with the technical road map. Design and configure T3000 and PCS 7 control systems, including control logic, hardware setup, server and computer networks, safety systems, trip chains, and HMI/OS displays, while adhering to configuration management, version control, and rigorous testing to ensure system integrity. Integrate field instrumentation and subsystems; manage communications via common industrial protocols (e.g., ProfNet, Profibus, Modbus TCP, and OPC). Apply industry standards and best practices for safety, quality, and cybersecurity. Consistently acquire new skills and knowledge while sharing them by mentoring and assisting others over time. Contribute to enhancing our processes and methods to improve team performance and project outcomes within the team’s responsibilities.
