That is both the promise and the reason Bytajobb was built.

Before building this, I spent three years as VP of Engineering at the world's third largest job platform group, as part of a 20-year career in tech and technical leadership. I had a close look at how the industry works. But I also saw how large organizations often become slow and lose their core focus: putting the candidate first and actually helping people find the right work. Because in the end, it’s not just about building a search tool — it's about helping people find work.

When I turned my attention to Sweden, the problem was clear: the job search was fragmented. Listings were scattered across Platsbanken, employer career pages, different ATS platforms, and competing boards. There was no single place that gathered everything.

So I built Bytajobb.

About the platform

In Sweden, Arbetsförmedlingen has long been the default starting point for job seekers. It is a solid foundation — but it was never designed to be complete. A significant share of jobs are posted directly on employer career pages, routed through private applicant tracking systems, or simply never submitted to any public board. Those jobs exist. They just aren't easy to find.

Bytajobb aggregates job listings from Platsbanken, but also directly from over 8,000 Swedish (and 20,000 European in total) career pages and applicant tracking systems — not only what employers choose to post publicly on paid boards.

The goal is straightforward: if a job exists in Sweden, it should be findable here.

The project is run independently with minimal operating costs thanks to a modern and efficient infrastructure. The goal is simple: to lower the barriers in the labor market and help people find work by building Sweden's best search tool — not to maximize short-term profit.

How we operate

Bytajobb is built on simple but strict principles to keep the service clean, fast, and focused:

• No employer fees — Nobody pays to be listed or shown on our platform.
• No priority ranking — Jobs are sorted and recommended purely based on relevance and commute metrics, not budget.
• No algorithmic distortion — No hidden logic decides what you see. Just clean, relevant results.
