Department of Management and Organization (DMO), Stockholm School of Economics The Department of Management and Organization at the Stockholm School of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in HRM, leadership, organization behaviour, or organization studies. Your profile We are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. in Business Administration, or a closely related discipline (doctoral degree must be completed before taking up the position). As a candidate, you should have a research background in any of the areas of organization behaviour, leadership studies, organization studies or HRM and have an interest in conducting research that has practical implications for organizations. We especially seek candidates with an international academic background to further enrich DMO’s faculty diversity and international profile. The successful candidate is expected to thrive in an inclusive, methodologically and theoretically pluralist research environment that aims to contribution to both academic knowledge and a better society. Candidates will have demonstrable strengths in both research and teaching. Your qualifications Candidates will have demonstrated the ability to publish in top-tier peer-reviewed international journals, such as AJG (4/4*) and those on the FT50 list. This will be evidenced by publications, research pipeline, and a documented presence in the international research community. In teaching, experience of designing and delivering courses, as well as supervising student projects is considered a merit. Candidates are expected to show independence and an ability to constructively collaborate with colleagues. Teaching (in English) is primarily at Bachelor and Master levels. The teaching load for the position is 20-40% of the working time, typically equating to 2-4 courses per year. Conditions The tenure period is 6-years. In teaching and research, there are ample opportunities to engage in collaboration with the wide network of partner organizations at the Stockholm School of Economics, including ABB, Accenture, Ericsson, H&M, McKinsey & Co, Scania, SEB and many others. About the Department of Management and Organization (DMO) Faculty at DMO conduct research at the intersection of people, organizations and society. Research is multidisciplinary, applies both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and ranges from positivist to interpretive and critical approaches. We are launching a new MSc program in Public Policy and this newly created Program Manager role offers a unique opportunity to join at an early stage and play a central role in building and developing the program from the ground up. Working closely with the Program Director and colleagues across SSE, you will help shape the student experience, establish efficient processes and structures, and contribute to the successful launch and long-term development of the program. The position offers significant scope for initiative, responsibility, and professional growth as the program evolves over time. The role As a Program Manager for the MSc in Public Policy (MPP) program, you will have a key role in coordinating, organizing, and assisting in the development and day-to-day operations of the program. You will belong to the Admissions & Program Management team at EdO, reporting to the Group Manager, and will work closely with the Program Director and Stakeholder Engagement Manager for MPP. This role is expected to evolve over time alongside the development of the program. During the start‑up phase, the focus will be on developing and setting up routines and workflows for the program. Once the program is running, responsibilities will increase in focus on program operations, student interaction, and delivery of program activities. Your tasks will include, but are not limited to: During the build-up phase, coordinating the internal launch of the program Acting as a central coordination point between the Program Director, Stakeholder Engagement Manager, and other units at the school. Supporting preparations for admissions, communications, and program visibility ahead of the first intake. Planning and participating actively in the selection and admission process. It is also important that you are service-minded, as the position involves substantial interaction with faculty, students and other stakeholders. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and are confident in engaging with senior external stakeholders, as well as in handling and resolving challenging situations. International experience is considered an asset, as a large part of both the student body and faculty come from outside Sweden. You should have an excellent command of English and feel comfortable presenting to large audiences. You should also be able to update web pages and possess strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office 365 and CRM systems (currently Full Fabric and Lime CRM), as well as an interest in generative AI. About the division and department The department of Technology Management and Economics conducts outstanding research within three broad areas: Innovation & entrepreneurship, Supply chain & operations management, and society studies. The position will be placed at the division of Entrepreneurship and Strategy. The division conducts research in innovation, entrepreneurship, strategy, and organisational behaviour. The division of Entrepreneurship and Strategy is a supplier of education, especially to the master program EBD (Entrepreneurship and Business Design) at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship as well as MEI (Management and Economics of Innovation). The division is also engaged in R&D in collaboration with Chalmers Ventures and Chalmer´s co-owned Lindholmen Science Park. About the role You will teach, develop and lead courses primarily at master’s level. Teaching at other levels may be included. You will teach in the area of intellectual property (IP), with two main focus areas: a) management and strategy of IP in technology-based innovation and b) generation, development, analysis, and management of IP within early-stage entrepreneurial venturing processes. The teaching aims to equip students with knowledge, methods and analytical tools to understand how IP can be identified, packaged, scoped, protected, managed and used strategically in different organizational contexts and venturing processes. The content includes basic knowledge of different forms of IP rights, as well as more advanced perspectives on IP strategy, IP-based value creation, patenting and licensing, partnerships, IP analytics, freedom-to-operate considerations, commercialization, and the role of IP in new venture development, deep-tech entrepreneurship, and established technology-based firms. A central part of the role pedagogically is to connect theoretical frameworks with practical application. This may include case-based teaching, live cases, role-play pedagogy, supervision of student projects, applied workshops and collaboration with external actors from industry, the professional IP community, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. You will be part of a teacher team that contributes to the development of the educational offering. As a teacher, we expect you to be interested in research and to continuously develop your own competence to be able to base your teaching on recent developments in research and practice.
