We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on Process Safety Engineering Lead.
Beskrivning You will own process safety for the project and ensure it is built into how we design and deliver the plant. You work close to engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure safety is part of decisions from early design through execution. You combine technical judgement with the ability to align people and drive the work forward.
You’ll be working as the process safety expert for this part of the project delivery team. The aim is to provide support to the organization and prepare the handover from the project delivery part of safety process to the operational team as we get closer to the start of production of our steel mill.
Lead and be accountable for process safety across the project
Drive HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and other risk assessments, and ensure outcomes are implemented
Review and challenge engineering design from a safety perspective
Define how Swedish and European safety requirements are applied in the project
Work directly with authorities and internal stakeholders on safety and permitting topics
Build structure for follow-up, risk tracking, and compliance
Act as the go-to person for process safety, both technically and in how the work is carried out
Long experience from the steel industry or similar heavy industry
Solid understanding of Swedish safety legislation and how it is applied in projects
Several years of hands-on experience in process safety work in industrial projects or operations
Experience leading or facilitating HAZOP, risk assessments or similar
Ability to challenge technical solutions and make clear, grounded decisions
Ability to work across teams and get others to act on safety requirements
You are comfortable taking responsibility for safety decisions while working closely with others to make them happen.

The team is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following but as we are a growing company with very little silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well. Act as the technical expert in instrumentation, electrical, and automation systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving for complex or recurring technical issues. Mentor and develop the competence of electrical and automation team members. Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering to align technical solutions with operational goals. Ensure compliance with Swedish electrical regulations and internal safety standards. Drive continuous improvement through preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and process optimization initiatives. Strong knowledge of PLCs, drives, sensors, HMI/SCADA, and industrial communication systems. Demonstrated ability in complex troubleshooting, process optimization, and team mentorship. Preferable qualifications: Certified Electrician (according to Swedish standards). Additional certifications in automation or control systems. Familiarity with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance standards. Knowledge of Swedish electrical regulations and industrial safety standards. H2GS AB will establish a new plant in Boden, Sweden for the production of green steel ("H2GS Project"). Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial is a leading contractor and shall carry out certain civil and installation works in the H2GS Project. In this respect, we are looking for Mechanical Site Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) to join our team in Boden, Sweden. In-depth technical knowledge of water treatment processes (e.g., ultrafiltration, demineralization, wastewater treatment) combined with plant performance analysis and project management skills. Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities; familiarity with Swedish labor and environmental regulations; fluent English required, with basic Swedish considered an advantage.
