Manager for Romania, you’ll have the unique opportunity to introduce our world-class payment solutions to a high-growth region.

What you'll ship * Identify and close new business opportunities within the Romanian SME and mid-market segments to drive rapid market share growth * Build and maintain a robust outbound pipeline through strategic prospecting, networking, and high-activity outreach * Pitch Mollie’s localised value proposition, focusing on our easy integration and superior checkout experience for Romanian consumers * Negotiate and close complex deals, managing the full sales cycle from initial discovery to go-live * Provide local market insights to our Product and Marketing teams to ensure our offering stays ahead of Romanian merchant needs * Maintain meticulous CRM records in Hubspot to ensure accurate forecasting and transparent pipeline management What you'll bring * ~5-7 years of B2B Sales experience, ideally in E-commerce, Tech, or Retail * Professional fluency in Romanian and English is essential * A proven track record of exceeding targets in a B2B SaaS or fintech sales environment * Deep knowledge of the Romanian e-commerce ecosystem and local payment preferences * A self-starter "hunter" mentality with the discipline to build a territory from scratch * Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders * Strong technical aptitude to explain payment integrations and API benefits to prospective partners Grow your way At Mollie, growth is personal. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic sales environment. You will be responsible for identifying, building long-term relationships and helping our partners grow their business through our platform. RESPONSIBILITIES * Recruit, coach, and develop a team of exceptional engineers. * Lead the development of our operations tooling, providing reliable, user-first surfaces that just feel natural. * Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and user empathy. * Drive your engineering team toward exceptional technical quality, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. * Provide hands-on technical leadership to your engineering team across multiple areas, including architecture, design, code reviews, quality assurance, and incident management. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 8+ years of professional hands-on software development experience * 2+ years of experience leading software engineering teams * Hands-on experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems * A track record of managing and mentoring junior and senior engineers * Customer obsession, ability to articulate and represent customer experience in various forums to drive the right outcome that benefits our customers * A track record of attracting and hiring top talent and growing teams * Demonstrated ability to define and drive complex initiatives and projects across multiple teams * Proven success with cross-discipline and cross-team collaborations PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience building and operating highly scalable, data-intensive services * Experience building and operating observability solutions, such as designing and building telemetry collections, data transport and storage solutions, and composable UI architectures We don't expect deep expertise in every dimension above, but we look for genuine interest in learning any of the less familiar areas.
