The Capital team is responsible for managing the end-to-end risk strategy for Stripe's lending product. The team is based in the
US and Canada, and is composed of curious, driven, and analytical individuals who are passionate about using their skills to shape
the future of Stripe. We partner closely with Stripe's engineering, data science, product, and servicing teams to leverage
existing platforms, integrate industry best practices, and develop novel solutions to evaluate and manage credit risk. If you are

RESPONSIBILITIES * Architect and implement credit policies based on Stripe's proprietary data and selected industry data to target, price, and size capital products. * Utilize your analytical and technical skills to provide credit risk recommendations, deliver insights, and support strategic business decisions. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Capital Markets to shape new product development across different geographies and industries. * Incorporate third-party data, including bureau, bank account, financial statements, and less traditional data, into our credit assessment. * Analyze account activity and monitor portfolio trends to identify opportunities for Stripe to reduce potential credit losses. * Help scale risk processes by working with partners to design and optimize outsourced workflows. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 5+ years of experience in credit analysis and underwriting. * Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, statistics, or a related field. * Experience in risk management, financial lending, or core credit risk management function. * Strong analytical skills and a rigorous, data-driven approach to problem-solving. * Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders and the ability to closely. manage expectations and deliverables in a timely manner. * Ability to thrive in an unstructured and fast-moving organization. * Strong technical expertise, including SQL, excel, google sheets. * Self-starter who can work independently. ABOUT THE TEAM The Risk Operations team is looking for an experienced Credit Operations Analyst to join an industry leading global credit operations team. As a Credit Analyst, you will execute operational processes and scale programs while devising growth friendly solutions that reduce Stripe’s credit risk. Did you know that only around 4% of the world’s GDP comes from internet commerce? At Stripe, we believe that this represents a future with almost limitless potential for innovation, creativity and global prosperity. While the promise of a global online economy is palpable, it doesn’t come without significant risk. Billions of dollars are processed by Stripe each year and the Credit Operations team works to ensure that exposure is minimized while facilitating company growth. We are looking for someone passionate about commercial credit, the payments ecosystem, and has a strong desire to work collaboratively with peers and partners in the credit space while building and enhancing processes at scale. This person will work alongside a global team of analysts and build cross functional partnerships with engineering, strategy, sales, vendor management and more. The right candidate for this role should have an understanding of general credit principals, risk management, and credit modeling. Successful candidates for the role will have a minimum of four years experience in credit operations within the payments, fintech, or financial service spaces. WHAT YOU’LL DO RESPONSIBILITIES * Work with merchants from successful venture-backed startups to well established institutions * Complete in-depth credit reviews on merchants throughout their life cycle to identify credit concerns. * Investigate and action/triage escalations across multiple channels while providing accurate and timely responses * Own various operational processes that the team performs such as credit reviews and handling urgent risk-related escalations whilst upholding a strong commitment to process excellence and clear documentation * Identify risk factors & trends and further report said trends to the wider risk team * Utilize analytics to optimize strategies which can be enforced across the portfolio * Maintain regular communication with cross-functional stakeholders * Identify gaps in current systems, policies and strategies, and recommend enhancements and process improvements * Lead team work streams related to credit decisioning & accuracy, providing updates in team and org wide business reviews. About the Role You will own the data strategy that drives our pre-collections policies, third-party collections performance, and Non-Performing Loan (NPL) divestments. This mission bridges the gap between technical execution and business impact by moving beyond operational reporting to directly influence our Loss Given Default (LGD) metrics. You will have end-to-end ownership of the data ecosystem that maximizes portfolio recovery value in close collaboration with our Finance and Credit Policy teams. Key responsibilities Design and implement robust champion/challenger A/B testing frameworks to evaluate the recovery performance of third-party collection agencies. Analyze early-stage delinquency data to refine pre-collections policies and prevent roll-rates into deeper delinquency segments. Build quantitative data models to evaluate the pricing, segmentation, and optimal timing for NPL forward-flow and spot sales. Partner with the Credit Policy team to integrate downstream collections insights into automated early underwriting decisions. Establish standardized data exchange processes, governance frameworks, and performance KPIs with external collection parties and vendors. What we’re looking for We are looking for a data-driven specialist with a highly structured approach to optimizing financial systems. You have a proven ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams and external vendors, translating complex analysis into actionable strategic narratives. You are motivated to build scalable frameworks that directly protect bottom-line performance in a fast-paced fintech environment. Qualifications Several years of experience working with credit risk, collections analytics, or portfolio management within Fintech or Banking. Expert-level technical capability in SQL for data mining and structuring complex datasets from scratch. Experience building automated data visualization dashboards, preferably using Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, or PowerBI. Background in analyzing financial metrics such as Loss Given Default (LGD) and NPL portfolio valuation.
