The Commercial team is a high-velocity sales team focused on acquiring new, under-penetrated mid-market customers. As an Account
Executive on the Commercial Hunter sales team, you’ll be responsible for sourcing and closing net new business, executing outbound
sales strategies, and running end-to-end sales cycles to bring new customers onto Stripe. You’ll play a critical role in expanding
Stripe’s reach by identifying high-potential prospects and converting them into long-term users of our platform.

ABOUT THE TEAM The Account Executive, SMB Grower team is a highly consultative sales team that is responsible for the growth and retention of Stripe’s largest and fastest growing SMB customers. As an Account Executive, SMB Grower team member, you’ll identify new opportunities for our clients to get the most out of Stripe by quickly understanding our clients’ needs, execute scaled sales strategies to close upsell and renewals with existing Stripe customers, and drive end-to-end campaigns to increase adoption of Stripe’s offerings. WHAT YOU’LL DO RESPONSIBILITIES * Own contract renewals and lead commercial negotiations to increase and retain existing customer revenue and Stripe market share * Develop and implement full sales cycle strategies for driving product adoption, net new product sales, and client retention at scale among existing Stripe customers * Solve complex client needs and work across product, sales, risk, and operations teams to improve our product * Own the full sales cycle from lead to close for startups and small/medium businesses * Generate your own leads through cold calling, blitzing, research, networking, and driving your territory. * Make every potential Stripe user happy with every interaction, regardless of deal size * Identify and understand users’ pain points to propose Stripe solutions * Make sure that internal teams are set up for users’ success by coordinating with other Stripe teams WHO YOU ARE We’re looking for a well-rounded strategic seller who can build strong relationships with Stripe’s clients and manage high velocity deal cycles. ABOUT THE TEAM A Stripe Commercial (Mid-Market) Account Executive partners with high-growth, under-penetrated mid-market businesses to help them scale and modernize their financial infrastructure. These companies—often tech-forward, founder-led, and rapidly scaling—represent Stripe's next generation of breakout users. Stripe Commercial AEs are responsible for both acquiring new users and expanding existing relationships. They guide companies through the full sales lifecycle, uncovering pain points, aligning on solutions across the Stripe product suite, and driving long-term value. Commercial AEs serve as strategic advisors, helping users unlock new revenue, streamline operations, and launch ambitious new products on top of the Stripe platform. WHAT YOU’LL DO Commercial AEs own a book of high-potential accounts—some already using Stripe, others still evaluating. They operate with a dual motion—hunting for new growth opportunities and farming existing relationships for deeper adoption and expansion. They work cross-functionally with Solutions, Product, Post-Sales, and Sales Ops to craft tailored strategies and execute at high velocity. RESPONSIBILITIES * Identify high-potential, fast-growing eCommerce platforms for a full-stack Stripe implementation, from payments to Connect * Lead a product and pricing workshop with an existing user to introduce Radar and optimize their fraud stack * Develop and execute an outbound play to target a new vertical in their region or territory * Create and deliver compelling product walkthroughs to showcase how the expanding Stripe product suite (like Issuing or Treasury) maps to customer goals * Drive commercial discussions and close complex, high-impact deals—both net-new and upsell * Partner with Customer Success and Solutions Architects to resolve user pain points and deepen Stripe integration * Share feedback with Product and Marketing teams to help inform roadmap and messaging prioritie WHO YOU ARE We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role.
