The Account Executive, SMB Grower team is a highly consultative sales team that is responsible for the growth and retention of
Stripe’s largest and fastest growing SMB customers. As an Account Executive, SMB Grower team member, you’ll identify new
opportunities for our clients to get the most out of Stripe by quickly understanding our clients’ needs, execute scaled sales
strategies to close upsell and renewals with existing Stripe customers, and drive end-to-end campaigns to increase adoption of
Stripe’s offerings.

ABOUT THE TEAM The Commercial team is a high-velocity sales team focused on acquiring new, under-penetrated mid-market customers. As an Account Executive on the Commercial Hunter sales team, you’ll be responsible for sourcing and closing net new business, executing outbound sales strategies, and running end-to-end sales cycles to bring new customers onto Stripe. You’ll play a critical role in expanding Stripe’s reach by identifying high-potential prospects and converting them into long-term users of our platform. WHAT YOU’LL DO As a Account Executive, Commercial Hunter you will play an instrumental role in fueling Stripe’s growth by acquiring net new mid-market customers. In this role, you will also help build out a new team and go-to-market (GTM) motion at Stripe. RESPONSIBILITIES * Identify high-potential prospective users and use effective prospecting strategies to generate leads that drive net-new revenue growth in your territory * Develop and implement scaled sales strategies for acquiring new customers and driving adoption of Stripe’s products across new accounts * Identify and understand users’ pain points to propose Stripe solutions and own the full sales cycle, from business case development to close * Work cross-functionally to solve user pain points and improve our product to better serve new customer needs WHO YOU ARE We’re looking for a high performing, well-rounded seller who can manage high velocity deal cycles, enjoys building and has demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity and operating in a high-growth environment. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 5+ years full sales cycle/closing experience with net new business accounts * Ability to understand technical requirements and craft solutions across multiple technology products * Ability to perform quantitative analysis and independently manage pricing negotiations * Strong operational acumen and ability to manage and prioritize a book of 100 accounts * Ability and motivation to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment * Superior verbal and written communication skills * You will be required to work from the Chicago office three (3) days per week PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Prior experience in a sales and/or customer-facing role at a high growth payments company

ABOUT THE TEAM As a Sales Manager, SMB Account Executives (Grower) at Stripe, you will play an instrumental role in fueling Stripe’s growth and retention of our SMB customers. In this role, you will build and lead a team of high-performing Account Executives, helping them to develop their skills and deliver on their ambitious targets, as well as roll your sleeves up to work directly with customers. We are looking for a proactive leader who has demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity, operating in a high-growth environment, managing high-performing teams and solving complicated problems with limited oversight. Ideal candidates will have management and leadership experience scaling a technology sales team and possess first-class analytical, communication and relationship-building skills. WHAT YOU’LL DO RESPONSIBILITIES * Recruit, develop and lead a team of Account Executives who focus on small and medium, high-growth, tech-forward businesses * Work with senior leadership to develop the long-term vision and strategy for the team, and manage day-to-day operations with a focus on performance against key sales and growth metrics * Be accountable for increasing revenue at high rates of growth * Coach and guide the team in developing consultative and solution-based sales skills * Inspire, motivate and enable development of team members to promote career growth and impact for Stripe * Work collaboratively and cross-functionally across the organization to help shape Stripe’s products and solutions to meet customer needs * Play a personal and direct role in building and maintaining enduring customer relationships, up to C-level * Implement programs to improve pipeline generation efforts and drive overall efficiency for the team WHO YOU ARE We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 8+ years of relevant experience, with 2+ years of people management experience preferred * Experience leading sales in an early stage, high-growth technology environment * Ability to hire, train and coach a high-performance sales team * Ability to build relationships with strategic clients and industry thought leaders * Demonstrated passion for SMB technology businesses * Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts, and translate them into industry- or business-relevant terms PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Prior experience at a growth stage internet/software company * Prior experience forecasting and managing a high growth commercial business * Prior experience running complex sales cycles, ideally with SMB size companies * Prior experience leading a team in an office outside of the company headquarters * Prior experience in the payments industry and/or fintech

We focus on bringing Stripe products to high-potential businesses that are not yet Stripe customers. We move with urgency, operate with focus, and pride ourselves on delivering strong commercial results through disciplined outbound execution and high-quality customer engagement. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Account Executive on the French SMB Hunter team, you will own a portfolio of prospective SMB accounts and be responsible for winning new business for Stripe. This is a true hunting role, with a strong emphasis on outbound prospecting, pipeline generation, and closing new logos. You will partner closely with an SDR to execute targeted outbound strategies, while also building your own pipeline through proactive prospecting and account-based selling. You will run high-velocity, consultative sales cycles, help prospective users understand the value of the Stripe platform, and guide them from discovery through close and activation. RESPONSIBILITIES * Own the full sales cycle for net-new SMB prospects, from prospecting and discovery through solutioning, negotiation, close, and activation * Build and execute outbound strategies across a named account set to create, progress, and close new business opportunities * Partner closely with SDRs to identify target accounts, refine messaging, and generate qualified pipeline, while also self-sourcing opportunities * Lead consultative sales conversations with founders, operators, and functional stakeholders across payments, finance, product, and engineering * Understand customer pain points and business objectives, and position Stripe products and solutions to meet their needs, while building trusted relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders throughout the sales process * Drive deal strategy and commercial negotiations to deliver strong outcomes for both Stripe and prospective users * Maintain a high bar for pipeline quality, forecast accuracy, and operational rigor WHO YOU ARE We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Proven success in a closing sales role with a strong focus on net-new business acquisition, or in a customer-facing role such as solution engineering, implementation consulting, or strategy consulting with demonstrated experience influencing commercial outcomes and executive decision-making * Experience managing outbound sales motions and building pipeline through a combination of SDR partnership and self-generated prospecting, or experience partnering closely with sales teams on account-based strategies that generate and progress new business opportunities * Ability to run high-velocity sales cycles while maintaining strong qualification, deal control, and forecasting discipline * Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to uncover customer needs, build business cases, and align solutions to buyer priorities * Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate the value of multi-product solutions to both business and technical stakeholders, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience selling payments, fintech, SaaS, or other technology solutions * Experience in a high-growth sales environment with strong outbound expectations * Experience working with founders and SMB decision-makers * Familiarity with account-based prospecting and territory planning
