Today, thousands of companies, including Samsung SDS America, On24, Tata Consultancy Services, The World Bank, and Volkswagen, rely on Udemy Business for its enterprise solutions to build agile, future-ready teams. Udemy is headquartered in San Francisco, with hubs across the United States, Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. Udemy recently combined with Coursera to create one of the world’s most comprehensive skills development platforms. ABOUT THIS ROLE As a key member of Udemy's Enterprise design leadership team, you will lead product design across our Enterprise business — spanning both the Coursera and Udemy platforms. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Design, you'll set design vision and direction for how organizations equip their people with in-demand skills, building and coaching a team of product designers along the way. This is a people-leadership role first: you'll spend most of your time growing designers, shaping team culture, and connecting design work to business outcomes. But you're also expected to be a credible practitioner — able to jump into Figma yourself, prototype with AI tools, and set a concrete design bar when a project needs it, especially for early-stage vision work. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Lead and coach a team of product designers across our Enterprise business, covering the full arc from acquisition and onboarding through admin tooling, learning programs, analytics, billing/retention, and partner-driven growth. * Build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners in product and engineering, acting as a strategic partner who helps shape roadmap and priorities — not just executes against them. * Use business context and user insight to spot opportunities for design-led innovation and connect work across multiple teams. * Coach and develop your team: create opportunities for designers to lead initiatives, give direct and honest feedback, and manage performance with clarity and care. * Shape team culture: build a collaborative, motivated team with a clear sense of purpose tied to our mission. * Plan for the team's growth: recruit, organize, and deploy talent to match business needs, and identify future leaders within the team. * Elevate craft quality by bringing in strong examples from peer teams and the industry, and by giving direct, actionable critique. * Stay hands-on where it counts: personally prototype and visualize concepts — using modern design and AI tools — especially in early vision-setting work, so the team has a concrete bar to build toward. * Translate design initiatives into quantifiable business value, and contribute to your team's success metrics. * Balance business value, quality, and effort across multiple workstreams, keeping a bias toward action while tracking key metrics. WHAT YOU'LL BRING * 8+ years of experience in product design, with 3+ years leading and managing design teams. * Experience designing enterprise or B2B products at scale — admin/back-office tooling, business dashboards, or platforms serving large organizations. * A track record of using AI tools as part of your own design and prototyping process, and of helping your team do the same. * Strong craft fundamentals: you can still open Figma and produce high-quality, detailed design work yourself when a project calls for it. * Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous, cross-functional problems into a clear design vision and roadmap. * Experience partnering with research to build a deep understanding of enterprise customer needs. * A portfolio that shows both your own design craft and your impact as a design leader — team outcomes, business results, and org-building. ABOUT YOUR SKILLS * Leadership — You lead with humility and clarity, building an environment where designers feel supported, heard, and proud of their work, while modeling strong craft yourself when it matters. * Collaboration — You partner effectively with cross-functional peers, proactively communicating progress, trade-offs, and risk, and represent your team with integrity. * Growth Mindset — You value continuous improvement for yourself, your team, and your processes, and create space for feedback, experimentation, and celebrating progress. * Execution — You translate high-level objectives into a clear roadmap, prioritize effectively, manage complexity, and remove blockers so your team can execute with confidence. * Business Acumen — You connect design investment to business and user value, and use data to demonstrate design's impact on the metrics that matter to your team's area. LOCATION Dublin, Ireland. Udemy offers flexible work arrangements — this is a hybrid role. You'll lead designers based in Dublin and India, and collaborate closely with colleagues based in North America. Posting Date: 17 July 2026 We anticipate the application window will be open until 31 August 2026. Based on business needs, this opportunity may remain posted beyond or closed before the anticipated application window. #LI-ST5 WHY WORK HERE? You’ll grow here. Learning is part of the job. You’ll get full access to Udemy courses, a monthly UDay to invest in yourself, and a budget to spend on whatever helps you improve. Many people are diving into AI lately, but what you focus on is up to you. AI is real here. We use it in the way we learn and the way we work. You’ll have the space and tools to experiment, apply, and get better at using AI in practical ways. You’ll own your work. We trust people to lead, make decisions, and follow through. You don’t need to wait for permission or layers of approval to have an impact. You’ll build with others. We collaborate openly and shape ideas together. Everyone has a voice, and good thinking is welcomed from any direction. You’ll see your impact. What you build helps people grow their skills, change their careers, or find a path forward. You’ve got the experience, why not use it to help others gain theirs? Bring your curiosity. We’ll bring the platform and the support. Let’s LEARN together. ABOUT EDGETIER At EdgeTier, we empower customer care teams by seamlessly combining AI, automation, and human expertise. Our award-winning technology enables some of the world’s most innovative companies to deliver exceptional customer service while gaining deeper insights into their customers. We’re on a mission to revolutionise customer service by embedding AI into every interaction, creating seamless and impactful experiences. Our cutting-edge solutions help high-volume B2C brands transform customer experiences by analysing and optimising every touchpoint. This is an incredible opportunity, and we’d love for you to join us on this journey! ABOUT THE ROLE EdgeTier is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to do some of the best work of their career. This is a hands-on role within our backend team with real ownership. This means you'll be expected to operate independently from the start and hold yourself to a high standard. The way we build software is evolving. AI coding agents are part of our everyday workflow, and we're looking for someone who knows how to direct, review, and get the best out of those tools — not someone who treats them as a shortcut. We care about the quality of the output, not just the speed of it. This is a small, high-trust team. In this role, you'll find more autonomy, more impact, and more accountability than you would in a larger engineering org. If that energises you, read on. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING * Translating product requirements into detailed technical specifications and owning delivery end-to-end from design through implementation, testing, and release. * Architecting changes to EdgeTier's core product including APIs, services, and databases. * Writing high quality and well structured Python code while holding a high standard in code reviews. * Directing and critically reviewing AI coding agent output to ensure quality. * Monitoring application performance and error logs. * Mentoring junior engineers. * Contributing to architectural decisions and using your voice and ideas to shape how we build EdgeTier. HOW YOUR TIME BREAKS DOWN (ROUGHLY) * Developing new features: 30% * Reviewing pull requests: 20% * Architecting changes: 15% * Bug fixes and feature maintenance: 10% * Team communication and meetings: 10% * Testing and releasing features: 5% * Performance monitoring and error logs: 5% * Developer tooling improvements: 5% WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU Technical ability matters, but so does how you work. We want someone who leaves things in better shape than they found them. Someone pragmatic enough to know when to ship and disciplined enough to know when to refactor. This role will be challenging. If that excites you, this is the role for you. WHAT YOU'LL NEED * 6+ years of professional software development experience in a product, SaaS, or similar environment * Solid Python skills * SQL experience, ideally PostgreSQL * Experience working with data at scale in large datasets or high-volume systems * True end-to-end engineering experience: local development, deployment, debugging in production, ongoing maintenance * Strong communication skills. We want you to be able to explain complex technical problems clearly to non-technical stakeholders * Proven ability to work independently and manage your own time without close supervision * Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and agents. USEFUL BUT NOT ESSENTIAL * Flask, AWS, Pytest, GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tooling, Terraform, experience writing or customising AI agents. * Start-up or scale-up experience: comfortable with ambiguity, a fast-moving environment, and doing what needs to be done WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE WORTH IT You'll have genuine influence over how EdgeTier's engineering team develops, the chance to mentor others, and the space to do your best technical work. You won't be given a list of tasks to execute — you'll be given problems to solve, and trusted to solve them well. If you're motivated by the idea of building something excellent, and you hold yourself to a high standard, we'd like to hear from you. You're the person who ensures that every piece of advice we give, every quote we present, and every policy we place is in the best interest of the customer.
