YOUR MISSION 💪 The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the deployment, configuration and ongoing support of enterprise infrastructure across both virtual and physical environments. The role focuses on Windows Server deployments, clustering technologies, storage integration (MPIO), identity and access solutions (PingFederate, UserLock MFA), and application onboarding within a secure, highly available environment. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING 🎯 * Deploy and configure Windows Server environments across VMware vCenter (virtual builds) and physical servers * Perform system provisioning including OS installation, patching and baseline security hardening * Manage virtual machine lifecycle (provisioning, resizing, decommissioning) * Monitor and optimise resource utilisation across clusters * Document onboarding processes and standards * Maintain technical documentation including SOPs and runbooks * Administer and maintain VMware vSphere / vCenter environments * Manage virtual machine lifecycle (provisioning, resizing, decommissioning) * Monitor and optimise resource utilisation across clusters * Design and implement Windows Failover Clustering solutions * Configure and support Multipath I/O (MPIO) for SAN storage * Ensure resilience and high availability of critical systems * Lead/support application onboarding including authentication integration and infrastructure provisioning * Collaborate with application owners to meet security and connectivity requirements * Document onboarding processes and standards * Provide support for infrastructure incidents and requests * Troubleshoot complex issues across Windows, VMware and identity platforms * Participate in on-call support where required * Ensure systems meet organisational security and compliance standards * Support patching cycles and vulnerability remediation * Work with cyber and compliance teams as required * Maintain technical documentation including SOPs and runbooks * Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives WHAT EXPERIENCE WE THINK YOU’LL NEED 🚀 * Strong experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) * Experience with VMware vSphere / vCenter * Knowledge of Windows Failover Clustering and MPIO * Configure and support PingFederate for SSO and application federation * Manage UserLock MFA including policy configuration and access control * Support secure authentication integration across enterprise platforms * Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and networking fundamentals * Experience with F5 load balancers, Citrix, and Linux (RHEL/OEL) * Knowledge of ITIL processes and PowerShell scripting * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure * Clear communication with stakeholders * Proactive approach to documentation * Secure and reliable infrastructure deployments * High availability of critical systems * Successful application onboarding * Timely incident resolution and audit-ready documentation * Scheduled On-call and Out of Hours OS Patching participation (renumerated) * Ability to obtain/holder of BPSS & SC Clearance > As an equal opportunity employer, we are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, > and skills. boxxe does not discriminate based on race, religion, colour, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, > age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. The role is a unique blend of infrastructure and internal tooling to reduce friction at every step of delivering an amazing customer experience. As part of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in scaling our infrastructure, reducing toil through automation, and contributing to our culture of innovation and continuous improvement. HOW YOU’LL HELP US WIN * By 30 Days: * Use your observability background to help scale our existing tools to new heights as we continue to grow the platform. * Enhance our existing automation for scaling our infrastructure and improve the development experience. * By 90 Days: * Play a key role in continuing to diversify and scale our platform across additional regions. * Evaluate options to replace our existing real-time data pipeline for enhanced multi-regional capabilities. * Provide platform support to all of engineering, using data-driven decision-making. * By 1 Year: * Work with engineering to re-evaluate what observability means for the Fathom platform, and drive improvements to remove friction * Help us design and implement improvements to our elastic multi-regional storage platform. * Drive platform improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency REQUIREMENTS Hard Skills: * Proficiency with and preference for Infrastructure as Code / GitOps tooling. * Foundation in Observability best practices and implementation. * Experience in a SaaS or PaaS environment. * Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), including proficiency with GCP/GKE networking * Familiarity with our tech stack: Message Queues, Prometheus, ClickHouse, ArgoCD, Github Actions, Golang. The Role The Infrastructure Engineer’s role is to administer the Online Gaming platforms, ensure optimum performance and availability of such platform, provide third/fourth-level troubleshooting support, and liaise with all applicable service providers and third parties including NOC/1st/2nd line support. Provide technical support to all roles. Key Responsibilities * Partake in the design and implementation of new setups * Assist in process improvement and automation. * Test and design new systems/services and their suitability for possible use in production environments * Proactive monitoring and support of the live and staging infrastructure * Investigate and react to any live or staging issues that might arise * Prepare and take part in the periodic release of new software * Act as an escalation point for issues flagged by customer support * Handle service requests, incidents, problems and change requests, using ITIL best practice. * Assist in process improvement and automation. * Assist in intensive investigations into problems that would included detailed log and metrics analysis to provide detailed analysis, resolution and future prevention of such issues Skills, Knowledge and Experience * All-rounder with proven experience in linux based environments with very good IT knowledge * Possess excellent communication skills, capable of delivering information to both technical as well as non-technical personnel, the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment * Detect/analyse alarms to provide fault isolation and remote troubleshooting, being a responsible individual for problems until their complete resolution * Ability to analyse logs for troubleshooting issues, including malicious activity or cybersecurity threats, code and systems errors and problems * Understands how to direct, support and guide other team members and knows how to motivate them with great attention to detail and acts as a senior technical resource for outages until restoration. * Production support or implementation of Kubernetes, preferable in google managed Kubernetes environment (GKE) for at least 24 months * Virtualisation - OpenStack, VMware, Cloud - Experience with any: Google GKE, Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, OpenShift/OKD * Excellent log analysis and setup of aggregated logging systems such as Splunk/EFK and excellent networking skills including packet capture and analysis * Excellent monitoring and metrics analysis and systems implementation such as Grafana, APM, Prometheus, Zabbix, etc… with deep knowledge of various monitoring tools and excellent problem-solving skills * Experience with code repositories GitHub/Gitlab, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles and DNS/HTTPS certificates What can we offer? * Discovery medical aid * 21 days leave * Discretionary company performance bonus
