Are you an Experienced Software Developer who thrives in close collaboration and takes pride in delivering quality? AXIS Body Worn is a growing business area, and we're looking for a developer to join our team in Linköping where you'll help shape wearable camera solutions designed for professionals who rely on them in critical, real-world situations.
Who is your future team?
The AXIS Body Worn organization in Linköping consists of several teams working together to develop and evolve the Body Worn product portfolio. The team you would be joining is a group of 5-6 experienced developers who share a strong sense of ownership and collaboration. Together, you take end-to-end responsibility for your product, from defining it alongside product management, through development and testing, all the way to release. You work closely with each other, sharing tasks and solving problems as one unit.
Our R&D site in Linköping is still growing, which means short distances between people, easy collaboration across teams, and a real chance to influence how we work and what we build.
What you'll do here as a Software Developer
As a developer you play a key role in building and evolving products that integrate body worn cameras into the broader Axis ecosystem. Your work directly impacts how customers experience and use our solutions.
Develop, test, and deploy software as part of the full product lifecycle
Analyze customer needs and translate them into well-designed solutions
Collaborate closely with product management to define and shape the product
Drive integration of AXIS Body Worn with other products in the Axis ecosystem
Communicate and coordinate with other development teams and stakeholders
Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and quality
Explore and apply new approaches, including AI and agentic development, to accelerate delivery
Who are you?
We're looking for someone who values collaboration and open communication, someone who enjoys working closely with colleagues, sharing tasks, and taking collective ownership of a product. You are self-driven, curious, and quality-minded. You care deeply about building software that truly works for the people who use it.
In this team, how you work and who you are matters more than a specific list of technologies. You bring experience from product development and are comfortable contributing across the full development cycle.
Experience building and releasing software products
A Master of Science in Engineering, or similar
Working knowledge of Go and/or TypeScript
Familiarity with C# and .NET
Experience with similar product types, such as wearable or embedded devices
Familiarity with pair and ensemble programming

What happens when experienced engineers get access to some of the latest agentic development tools, and the mandate to rethink how software is built? We're looking for Experienced software engineers at the Axis Linköping office to find out. If you're a skilled developer who's already pushing the boundaries of agentic engineering and want to do it full-time with a team that shares that drive, this role is for you. Who is your future team? You'll join a team within R&D Software with a clear product mandate: building video management software for both cloud and on-prem use. Our teams work across the stack - from backend services in Go running on Kubernetes and AWS, to full-stack product development - and increasingly leverage agentic development tools as part of how we deliver. We believe developers who already know how to lead, delegate, and review are those who get the most out of agentic development tools. You'll have significant autonomy in choosing tools, workflows, and approaches, and we expect every team member to contribute to shaping how we work, not just what we build. We also expect you to communicate your findings - your learnings should ripple out across the R&D organization. Your role As an Experienced Software Engineer, your job is twofold: deliver high-quality software and continuously push the boundaries of what's possible with agentic engineering. In practice, that means: Designing and building well-structured, testable, and modular software - whether across the full stack or deep in backend services Using agents as a core part of your workflow from the start - not just for code completion, but as a starting point for design, implementation, and testing Evaluating and experimenting with new tools and ways of working Actively communicating findings, failures, and breakthroughs to the wider R&D organization - through demos, write-ups, or lightning talks Taking end-to-end responsibility, from idea through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance You won't just write code; you'll orchestrate agents, review their output, and architect systems designed to be built and maintained within the team. Who are you? You are an experienced software engineer with a strong foundation in building production-quality systems. You've already discovered that agentic coding tools make you significantly more productive, and you're eager to take that further in a team that shares that mindset. More specifically, we believe you have: Several years of experience in software development, with depth in one or more of: full-stack development, backend services, or systems programming (e.g. Go, TypeScript, Rust, or a comparable modern stack) A track record of building software that is well-structured, testable, and maintainable The curiosity to challenge established ways of working and the discipline to measure results rather than follow habits It's a bonus if you also have experience with: Hands-on experience with agentic development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar Video processing technologies such as GStreamer, FFmpeg, or WebRTC Designing and operating scalable backend systems and APIs in the cloud UX/UI design and implementation As a person, you are self-driven and pragmatic. You form your own opinions but stay open to being proven wrong. You're more interested in measuring outcomes than following trends, and you're energized by building something new rather than maintaining the status quo. You don't keep insights to yourself, you get a kick out of explaining what you've figured out, writing it down, and seeing others run with it.
