decisions.
We already have a clear strategy for how we show up across search and large language models, and this role will play an important
part in delivering it. We’re looking for a Senior Content Manager who’s as comfortable in GA4 and tools like Hotjar as they are in
a copy doc, and at home pulling insights from BI dashboards (we use Tableau) – someone who can spot data-driven opportunities and
pull the right levers to act on them, whether that’s writing content themselves, briefing partners, or running tests with product
and engineering.
You’ll sit within our content team alongside other content managers, social and SEO, all reporting into the Head of Content &
Social. It’s a hands-on individual contributor role focused on helping drive measurable web growth, with scope to grow over time

You get: * Predictable performance, even at scale * Secure, compliant environments by default * Real-time observability and profiling built in * Cloning, configuration, and provisioning in seconds * AI-ready features that plug directly into your stack The name says it all. "Up" means uptime, reliability, and acceleration. "Sun" reflects our follow-the-sun-support, a 24x7, globally distributed support team keeping the lights on while you rest. Our core belief is that software should power brighter solutions and greater innovation. Upsunners are a remote, global workforce, and we thrive in a multicultural team. We are committed to open source and an open, welcoming environment. Our team spans the globe and the experience spectrum. What's our commonality, our cultural fabric? A curious spirit and a thirst for knowledge; an eagerness for innovative ideas and cultures. We believe we can build anything together in an environment that frees you to do your best work. Our values: 🌿 We make a positive impact. ✨ We aim for the stars. 💚 We care for each other. IMPACT OF A SENIOR CONTENT ENGINEER As a Senior Content Engineer at Upsun, you will redefine how developer documentation is created, maintained, and consumed in an AI-native world. This isn’t a traditional technical writing role; rather than being a bottleneck for content, you are an architect of systems. You will build the AI-powered infrastructure and editorial frameworks that empower engineers and product managers to publish high-quality documentation themselves. You are a systems thinker who thrives on technical ownership. You bridge the gap between hands-on engineering—building Claude skills and content pipelines—and sharp editorial judgment. By setting the standards and guardrails for automated workflows, you ensure that every piece of content we ship is accurate, clear, and optimized for both human developers and AI agents. Beyond automation, you are the final quality gate. Your work ensures that documentation can keep pace with rapid engineering cycles without sacrificing the clarity and "voice" developers love. You are an enabler, shifting the team from a "writer writes everything" model to a "writer enables everyone to write well" philosophy. WHAT TO EXPECT * AI Content Infrastructure: Design and build Claude skills, MCP integrations, and automated pipelines that transform internal knowledge into publication-ready docs with minimal manual intervention. * Editorial Quality at Scale: Act as the final reviewer for content produced by AI-assisted workflows and engineers, maintaining a high bar for technical accuracy and polish. * Standards & Machine Readability: Define content structures and metadata standards that ensure our documentation is agent-consumable and machine-parseable. * Self-Service Enablement: Train and support engineers and PMs to document their own features using the tools and frameworks you create. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Engineering and Product teams to ensure new features ship with documentation-ready context. * Feedback & Optimization: Build automated loops to identify content gaps and outdated docs, using metrics to track quality and documentation satisfaction. * Advocacy Support: Work with Developer Advocates to refine tutorials, blog posts, and SDK documentation for high-visibility releases. WHAT YOU BRING * Solid Technical Foundation: Ability to read and write code (TypeScript or Python preferred), build integrations, and work comfortably with SDKs and APIs. * Exceptional Writing & Editing: The skill to take a rough technical draft and turn it into something developers love, with strong opinions on clarity and structure. * AI/LLM Tooling Fluency: Hands-on experience building with or around LLMs, including prompt engineering and AI-assisted workflows. * Systems Thinking: A mindset that prioritizes pipelines and frameworks over one-off documents to solve content problems at the system level. * Collaborative Mindset: A proactive approach to working with engineering and product teams to win buy-in and drive timely results. * English Proficiency: Professional-level fluency in English for writing and global team collaboration. BONUS POINTS * Background in Developer Advocacy or DevRel. * Experience building MCP servers or similar AI agent integrations. * Familiarity with docs-as-code workflows (e.g., Mintlify, Docusaurus). * Proven track record of enabling non-writers to produce high-quality content through training or editorial workflows. * Contributions to open-source documentation or developer communities.
