We provide anti-money laundering (AML) compliance software and investigative services to the leading participants in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Customers rely on us to analyse more than $150bn of their transactions every month, and include cryptocurrency businesses, major financial institutions, and federal government agencies. The company has a presence in London, UK, New York City, Singapore and Tokyo. We are backed by SBI Group, Albion VC, Octopus Ventures, SignalFire, Paladin Capital, Santander InnoVentures, and Digital Currency Group. Are you passionate, enthusiastic, and looking for an opportunity to grow your career in sales? Are you looking for your next challenge in an emerging and exciting market? If yes then we want to hear from you! ABOUT THE ROLE As Director of Government Relations at Elliptic, you will own our senior relationships across the U.S. law enforcement, intelligence, defense and regulatory communities — acting as a trusted advisor to agency decision-makers and as the bridge that carries your public-sector network into Elliptic's private-sector business, and Elliptic's capabilities back into government. This is a network-first role. You will have spent your career inside the federal financial-crimes mission — at an agency like the FBI, DOJ, Treasury, or within the intelligence community — and built the kind of trusted senior relationships that can't be cold-called into existence. At Elliptic, you'll put that network to work in both directions: opening doors for our government and enterprise businesses, lending operational credibility to commercial engagements, and representing the voice of the agency practitioner inside the company. You'll work in close partnership with our Director of Strategic Engagement, who leads mission delivery and solution engagement for government customers — where that role goes deep on operational deployment, yours goes wide on relationships, advocacy, and institutional positioning. Together you form the government-facing spine of Elliptic's U.S. presence. THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE * Drive senior-level engagement strategies with key law enforcement, intelligence, defense and regulatory agencies. * Build relationships across both government and commercial clients and prospects, leveraging your financial-crimes expertise to provide subject-matter authority and credibility across Elliptic's client base. * Serve as a bridge between Elliptic's public- and private-sector clients — helping enterprise customers understand the government mission, and helping agencies understand what industry can deliver. * Support Elliptic's commercial enterprise business as a trusted domain advisor alongside our sales and GPRG teams. * Represent Elliptic in public policy dialogues, industry working groups, and engagements with agency leadership. * Act as a spokesperson and ambassador at industry forums, think tanks, and executive summits — reinforcing Elliptic's position as a thought leader in digital-asset intelligence. * Inform product strategy and go-to-market planning by bringing insights from agency leaders, operational users and market trends to internal cross-functional teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Open and facilitate strategic engagement with key law enforcement, intelligence, defense and regulatory agencies and with financial-crimes experts across the private sector. * Serve as a senior advisor to agency leaders leveraging digital assets for operational missions and utilizing data to accomplish key initiatives. * Develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior agency leadership, industry experts, and legislative stakeholders. * Contribute to institutional positioning strategies that reinforce Elliptic's credibility with government partners. * Support product development strategy and roadmap execution, serving as an internal advocate for critical agency needs. * Partner with the Director of Strategic Engagement on account strategy for Tier 1 government relationships, ensuring relationship-building and mission delivery reinforce each other. WHAT YOU BRING * 10+ years of experience within the federal law enforcement, intelligence, defense or regulatory communities, with substantial time leading or supporting financial-crimes or financial-intelligence operations — digital-assets exposure strongly preferred. * A deep, active network of trusted senior relationships across the federal financial-crimes community (e.g., DOJ, FBI, Treasury/FinCEN, IC), and a track record of putting that network to work across the public/private divide. * Deep understanding of the operational mission needs of law enforcement, intelligence, defense and regulatory agencies, and of financial crime with a particular focus on digital assets. * Demonstrated public-affairs and communications acumen; comfortable representing organisations in press-sensitive, agency-facing, legislative and crisis-management contexts. * Strong understanding of digital assets, blockchain-intelligence data and operational use cases. * Executive presence and cross-sector credibility — equally at home advising an agency executive, supporting a commercial pursuit, and speaking on a conference stage. * Comfort operating commercially: this role supports revenue outcomes in both the government and enterprise businesses, and you should relish that rather than tolerate it. How we work: * Hybrid working: The option to work from almost anywhere for up to 90 days per year. * Remote Work Budget: $650 budget to set up your home office space. Learning & Development: * L&D Budget: $1,000 annual Learning & Development budget to use on anything (agreed with your manager) that contributes to your growth and development. Vacation / Leave: * Holidays: 25 days of annual leave + US Public Holidays. * Birthday Leave: An extra day off for your birthday. * Enhanced Parental Leave: We provide eligible employees, regardless of gender or whether they become a parent by birth or adoption, 16 weeks fully-paid leave. Benefits: * Healthcare: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage through a range of providers (including Tufts, Kaiser, Aetna, UHC, and Blue Shield of CA) with generous premium contributions for you and your dependents. * 401k: Company match included. * Mental Health: Full access to Spill mental health support. We know Diversity and Inclusion is much deeper than just hiring, but it’s important for us to mention it here. We welcome and embrace individuals of all backgrounds and identities at Elliptic, and this is an ongoing priority for us. We know incredible people don’t all think in the same way. We want to be challenged every day. We believe our diverse team of individuals underpins this by bringing creative thinking and innovation to Elliptic every day. We are committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace, so we welcome applications from everyone, even if you may not think you fit all of the requirements of our roles. We foster an environment of psychological safety, where everyone feels comfortable to bring their whole self to work. No recruitment agencies please!
