Permira Credit are seeking to recruit a Fund Operations Associate to join the CLO Operations team based in Madrid. The successful
candidate will support both European and US CLO strategies, working closely with colleagues in London and the US across a broad
range of operational and support processes.

Permira Credit is seeking to recruit an Associate to join its Portfolio Monitoring team focused on Direct Lending in Madrid. This is a highly analytical role sitting at the intersection of portfolio management, credit analysis and fund management. The successful candidate will build and maintain sophisticated portfolio and fund-level models while using those outputs to support portfolio monitoring, valuation, risk management and investment decision-making across the direct lending platform. The role will also play a key part in the aggregation, validation and analysis of asset and fund-level data. The successful candidate will be responsible for validating, transforming and aggregating data from multiple sources into a standardised format, and producing meaningful reports and analytical outputs. Key Responsibilities * Building, maintaining and enhancing detailed fund-level models, including distribution waterfall, cash flow, leverage and return (IRR / MOIC) models across the direct lending funds * Undertaking detailed financial and credit analysis to monitor the performance of assets within the funds, including covenant compliance, liquidity, leverage, and refinancing risk * Running scenario, sensitivity and stress-testing analyses at both the asset and fund level to support portfolio construction and investment decisions * Aggregating, validating and reconciling portfolio, borrower and fund-level data from multiple internal and external sources to produce portfolio analytics, management information, reports and datasheets for internal and external stakeholders * Supporting the monitoring, modelling and management of fund leverage facilities * Undertaking deployment and pipeline analysis to assess the impact on portfolio construction and fund returns * Maintaining and improving the suite of monitoring models and tools, including automation and version control to ensure model integrity and rigorous validation of the underlying data * Responding to ad hoc requests for information from the investor relations team * Creating relevant reports, dashboards and analyses for internal and external use cases * Preparing ad hoc presentations in PowerPoint * Any other duties as required from time to time Qualifications Required * Academic background in a numerate discipline such as Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or a related field * A postgraduate degree in a quantitative or financial discipline is an advantage * Progress towards, or completion of, the CFA / ACA / CIMA is an advantage but not a prerequisite Experience Required * A minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience within a financial services firm, ideally within investment management, investment banking, private credit / leveraged finance, or a top-tier advisory boutique * Demonstrable experience building and maintaining complex financial models from first principles – including LBO, leveraged credit and / or fund-level models * Experience in leveraged finance, private credit, or corporate finance is an advantage Essential Skills and Characteristics * Exceptional financial modelling skills, with the ability to build, audit and stress-test complex LBO, leveraged credit and fund-level models in Excel from first principles * Advanced Excel skills are essential; knowledge of VBA, Python (or another programming language) and Power BI is a distinct advantage * Strong understanding of leveraged finance, credit and private markets, including capital structures, debt instruments and fund economics (e.g. distribution waterfalls, IRR / MOIC) * Excellent written and verbal communication skills – fluent written and spoken English * A keen interest in business and, in particular, the dynamics of private credit and leveraged finance * Exceptional attention to detail and a rigorous, analytical mindset * Team focused and good at quickly building relationships with colleagues across the organisation * Effective planning and organisation skills; ability to prioritise tasks and deliver to deadlines * Self-starter with a high level of motivation, integrity, energy and enthusiasm * Ability to multi-task with excellent time management skills and a strong stakeholder focus * Inquisitive mindset with an eagerness to learn and make improvements * Resilient and willing to work to tight deadlines and under pressure To learn how we handle your personal data during the recruitment process, please review our Candidate Privacy Policy. ROLE OVERVIEW * As an Associate within the HR function, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering Permira’s global Reward and HR Analytics agenda. The role sits at the intersection of people data and compensation, combining analytical rigour with commercial insight. * A core priority will be supporting the migration to a new HR Information System (HRIS), improving data integrity, automation and system integration to strengthen how we track and manage people insights globally. You will also support the design, implementation and ongoing evolution of our reward frameworks whilst contributing to the development of robust people reporting and analytics capabilities to inform workforce planning, talent strategy, and business decision-making. * The role offers exposure across compensation, benefits, benchmarking, workforce reporting and analytics, with the opportunity to contribute to technology-enabled process improvement and the development of scalable, high-quality people data infrastructure. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. HRIS: Support the implementation and ongoing optimisation of the firm’s global HRIS, including system design, data migration, testing, documentation and governance. Maintain high standards of data integrity, contribute to global data definitions and controls. Identify opportunities to automate and improve efficiency through effective system utilisation and through thoughtful use of emerging AI enabled tools. 2. Reporting and Analytics: Design, build and enhance core HR dashboards and reporting frameworks, ensuring accuracy, consistency and usability. Produce regular people metrics and management reports, partnering with stakeholders to ensure alignment and data integration. Provide analytical support during key people processes – e.g. compensation reviews, talent reviews, benchmarking exercises, scenario modelling. Translate complex data into structured insights and clear recommendations. 3. Compensation & Benefits: Support the execution of key reward processes, including annual compensation reviews, new hire offer design, market benchmarking, and benefits renewals. Prepare and maintain core compensation data files, attend review meetings, and support with follow up activities like employee communication and payroll alignment. 4. Carried interest & Coinvest schemes: Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s current and historical carried interest and co-invest structures, supporting analysis and stakeholder engagement where required. 5. Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across HR, Finance, Fund Operations, Tax and Legal to deliver accurate and timely people-related outputs. Liaise with external advisors and consultants where appropriate. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE * 2–3 years’ experience in HR (Compensations & Benfits), HR Analytics, Finance, or a related analytical role. * Proven experience in data and analytics * Strong analytical capability and numerical capability, with the ability to translate data into clear, practical outputs * Advanced Excel skills and strong PowerPoint capability; experience working with data sets and producing structured, high-quality analysis * Emerging AI literacy, with curiosity about how AI and automation can augment people analytics and reward processes; practical experience using generative AI tools is a plus. * High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data accuracy and process integrity. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a range of stakeholders * Exposure to compensation, benefits, benchmarking or people analytics is advantageous. Role & Responsibilities: * Provide direct operational support, oversight, and subject matter expertise to Man Varagon’s fund finance strategy, which includes the use of Middle Market CLOs, ABL, and other structured finance solutions * Oversee daily CLO and leverage facility compliance reporting * Manage key monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables such as, but not limited to, trustee reporting, payment date reporting, borrowing base reporting, etc. * Assist in development of Man Varagon’s operational data strategy while identifying and presenting tangible solutions for inefficient processes * Help oversee loan administrators, trustees, data capture in WSO and IVP, and operational controls. Compensation packages would also include benefits and a discretionary bonus.
