ABOUT US Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces. Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected. ABOUT THE ROLE As our GNC, ML, Embedded Software, and Validation teams scale, Harmattan AI requires dedicated internal software infrastructure to accelerate development and testing. Joining the Tooling team you will be responsible for developing a "state-of-the-art" drone simulator to support our advanced autonomous defence applications. This role offers high ownership and the opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering, simulation, and AI robotics with direct mission impact. RESPONSIBILITIES * Simulator Development: Design, develop, and maintain flight-simulation-related tools and features. * Architectural Design: Define technical solutions, including architecture, APIs, and UIs, to respond to specific project needs. * Performance Optimisation: Analyze simulator performance across various aspects and implement necessary improvements. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with GNC, ML, and Embedded teams to establish specifications for new features and ensure the tool meets user needs. * Documentation & Standards: Write clear documentation and tutorials, and eventually mentor junior developers to standardise best practices. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS * Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software engineering. * Technical Proficiency: Strong software skills in C++ and Python, with a good knowledge of Linux system internals. * Domain Expertise: Significant experience with drones or robotic systems, including practical understanding of embedded software (GNC, gimbal, video) and open-source autopilots like PX4 or Ardupilot. * Simulation & Graphics: Experience in development with game engines (Unreal Engine preferred) or contributing to 3D video game engines (physics or visual realism). * Educational Background: MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a similar technical field; equivalent professional experience is equally valued. * Leadership & Mindset: * User Empathy: Ability to balance user feedback with technical vision to build effective R&D tools. * Problem Solving: Proven capacity to handle complex projects, from scoping and prioritising to delivering results under evolving requirements. * Commitment: 100% dedication to Harmattan AI’s mission and a "no-task-is-too-small" mentality in a fast-paced environment. We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.
About AQEMIA AQEMIA is a drug invention company dedicated to creating entirely new medicines to address major unmet medical needs. At the core of our mission is QEMI, our proprietary molecule-invention platform, which uniquely combines cutting-edge science with advanced technology. Powered by physics-based modeling, statistical mechanics, and generative AI, QEMI allows our teams to design novel drug candidates from first principles. What makes AQEMIA different is our commitment to true innovation: our research is dedicated to the invention of new molecular entities, not the refinement of existing ones. We focus on inventing never-before-seen molecules, without relying on experimental data, and advancing them into a growing pipeline of proprietary programs and strategic partnerships with leading pharmaceutical companies. Our most advanced preclinical programs are currently in vivo optimization, targeting diseases still waiting for effective treatments, offering our teams the opportunity to work on science that can make a real difference in people’s lives. For more information, visit AQEMIA.com, our WTTJ Page, and our LinkedIn. About our Team AQEMIA brings together a diverse, multidisciplinary team of 80+ professionals based in Paris and London. Our scientists and engineers, including chemists, physicists, machine learning experts, and software engineers, work side by side to push the boundaries of early-stage drug discovery. This close collaboration across disciplines is central to our approach, enabling us to tackle complex scientific challenges from first principles and translate cutting-edge ideas into novel therapeutic candidates. At AQEMIA, team members are encouraged to contribute their expertise, learn from one another, and play an active role in shaping the future of drug invention. About our Platform Department The Platform team (~20 people) brings together multidisciplinary teams working on the scientific core of Aqemia’s drug discovery engine. Its mission is to build scalable and reproducible workflows enabling multiple drug discovery programs to run in parallel with minimal manual intervention. The team combines expertise across Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (both research and applications), data science, statistical physics and molecular simulations, computational chemistry (CADD), and other scientific disciplines. Together, they develop predictive models, physics-based simulations, and robust scientific pipelines that power AQEMIA's discovery platform. At the center of this ecosystem is the “Rocket Launcher” process: an industrialized workflow continuously launching, testing, and improving drug discovery projects through iterative scientific feedback loops. The role As Manager of Molecular Generation Team, you will lead the multidisciplinary team responsible for developing our methods to design novel, highly potent and synthesizable molecules. You will be responsible for leveraging physics-based methods and state-of-the-art Machine Learning techniques to guide molecular design, focusing specifically on 3D structural constraints and target interactions.
