The reliability of our Ads systems directly impacts advertiser success, revenue generation, and user experience. The Ads Reliability team partners closely with Ads Engineering to improve reliability, scalability, operational excellence, and developer productivity across Reddit’s advertising ecosystem. We help build and operate highly available services that drive revenue and maintain advertiser trust. We’re looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to build, operate, and scale the critical systems behind Reddit Ads. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Partner with Ads Engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of ad-serving, auction, targeting, measurement, and billing systems. * Design, build, and maintain infrastructure, tooling, and automation that improve service reliability and engineering productivity. * Improve observability through monitoring, alerting, tracing, logging, and dashboards. * Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response efforts for critical production systems. * Run root cause analysis and drive corrective actions following incidents. * Collaborate with software engineers throughout the service lifecycle, from design reviews through production operations. * Drive adoption of SRE best practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and operational readiness reviews. * Reduce operational toil through automation and self-service tooling. * Help define and measure advertiser-critical user journeys such as campaign creation, ad delivery, reporting, and billing. * Scale Ads systems to support continued traffic growth, increased advertiser demand, and evolving business requirements. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles operating large scale distributed systems. * Strong experience supporting high traffic, user facing production environments. * Good understanding of distributed systems, networking, Linux systems, cloud native architectures. * Good programming skills in languages such as Go, Python, or similar. * Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues across applications, infrastructure, networking, and services. * Experience with observability platforms, monitoring systems, alerting, and incident response. * Experience driving automation and operational improvements. Summary & Duties As a Sr. DevOps Engineer, you will be a key player in scaling and refining a high-performance programmatic advertising platform. You won’t just maintain servers; you will evolve an elastic, global infrastructure that handles massive traffic peaks with millisecond precision. You will work in constant collaboration with our local Engineering teams and the Global DevOps unit, ensuring that our platform's stability and scalability remain world-class while we iterate on our deployment velocity. * Automate tasks such as application configuration and deployment. * Contribute to the technical decision-making process to define the platform strategy. * Build and maintain monitoring and alerting platforms. * Apply DevOps methodologies with a continuous improvement mindset. * Engage in upcoming projects’ infrastructure to ensure scalability and fault tolerance. * Maintain high availability during traffic spikes, disasters, and malicious attacks. * Work closely with the software development team to ensure systems are monitored 24x7. * Review and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the platform, optimizing infrastructure, processes, and system and product performance. * Collaborate with different Business Units across Affle Group to improve methodologies, processes, and technical best practices. Requirements * Strong Linux knowledge and troubleshooting skills in production environments. * Solid experience working with Cloud platforms, especially AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, etc. * Experience with infrastructure and configuration as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.). * Hands-on experience managing and scaling CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.). * Scripting experience with Bash for automation and operational tasks. * Experience managing high-volume and highly available services. * Knowledge of networking concepts, monitoring systems, and database administration. * Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Nomad. * Availability to participate in on-call rotations to support production environments and after-hours incidents. * Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, to collaborate effectively with global teams. Desirable requirements * Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript/Node.js or Python. * Knowledge of low-latency systems and distributed architectures (AdTech RTB, Trading platforms, etc.). * Understanding of security, privacy, and compliance best practices for Operating Systems and Cloud Services.
