This is Metaview's first in-house recruiter, working directly with Shahriar, co-founder & CTO. It's a full-cycle role with the
expectation that you'll do "the whole thing" and some. To name a few, this means:
strategies.
At Metaview, we want everyone to do the best work of their lives here. For this role, success means looking back with pride,
knowing you played a key part in building one of the most legendary teams in history. That's our goal—anything less isn't worth
our time.
talent at different seniority levels.
style.
space.
We're a small team, so you'll work quite closely with everyone. Your primary sparring partner, however, will be
Shahriar—Metaview's co-founder & CTO. Hear directly from him about what it's like to work with him:
I care about nothing more than the team we build—literally. This means I view our recruiting activities as the most critical work we do as a company. However, I'm not an easy person to work with. I'm intense and highly opinionated. I hold myself—and consequently, those around me—to the highest performance standards or, at a minimum, expect them to possess the drive to reach that level. I deeply value curiosity and initiative. Honestly, only a genuine passion for your craft will enable you to successfully partner with me. If this is just 'work' to you, you'll eventually come to resent me.
This role is based in our San Francisco office, located at 75 Federal Street. You'll be expected to work from the office at least
three days a week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
WHO WE ARE Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion. Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work. ABOUT THE ROLE: Notion is looking for an Early Career Recruiter who wants to reimagine what early career hiring can look like. This is a role for a builder: someone energized by the question of how to find and cultivate exceptional emerging talent, who gets excited about crafting programs and experiences that don't yet exist, and who sees employer brand, candidate experience, and assessment design in an AI era as creative problems worth obsessing over. You'll own Notion's early career strategy end-to-end alongside a team of talented teammates — from how we reach communities to how we evaluate potential, develop talent, and convert interns and new grads into the next generation of Notinos. You'll work closely with our Engineering, Product, Design, Sales, and People teams. This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days. WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE: * A differentiated early career engine — design and run recruiting programs (internships, new grad pipelines, 0-2 years from school pipelines) that are durable, scalable, and distinctly Notion * New models for talent discovery — beyond traditional campus funnels; experiment with communities, hackathons, open-source, AI-native sourcing tools, and creative outreach that meets candidates where they are * Inspired evaluation frameworks — challenge conventional interview loops; build assessments that reveal how early career candidates think, learn, and create — not just what they already know * A compelling employer brand presence — partner with Comms, Design, and People to articulate why Notion is the best place to launch a career, and bring that story to life across channels, events, and touchpoints * Hiring team capability — coach and equip hiring managers and interviewers to assess early career talent with nuance, fairness, and high standards SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING: * 2+ years of recruiter experience, with meaningful exposure to early career, university, or program-based hiring * A builder mentality — you're most energized when creating something new, not managing something established * Genuine curiosity about how to find and evaluate emerging talent; you're always experimenting with new sourcing channels, assessment formats, and candidate engagement strategies * Strong instincts for employer brand and candidate experience — you think about how every touchpoint shapes perception and builds (or erodes) trust * The ability to move between strategy and execution; you can design a program and then run it * Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills with candidates, hiring teams, and cross-functional partners * Comfort with data — you use it to make decisions, spot patterns, and make the case for what's working NICE TO HAVES: * You've built or contributed to an early career program from scratch * You've experimented with non-traditional sourcing or evaluation approaches and can speak to what you learned * You're deeply familiar with the early career talent landscape in engineering and technical roles * You use Notion and love it — you get what we're building Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $135,000 - $151,000 per year. By clicking “Submit Application”, I understand and agree that Notion and its affiliates and subsidiaries will collect and process my information in accordance with Notion’s Global Recruiting Privacy Policy and NYLL 144. #LI-Onsite A NOTE ON AI You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY & ACCOMMODATIONS We hire talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. SENIOR TECHNICAL RECRUITER — NAVIGATE AI WHY NAVIGATE At Navigate, we’re building the AI copilot for the physical world—bringing AI, AR, and computer vision to the frontline workforce. We’re starting with construction, a ~$2T industry that still runs on fragmented, outdated workflows. We’ve partnered with some of the largest construction companies in the U.S. and have access to cutting-edge AI platforms—but the real challenge (and opportunity) is turning that into products people actually use every day in the field. This is a chance to help build a generational company from the ground up. We’re early, moving quickly, and making foundational decisions about the product, the team, and the company itself. The problems are real, the feedback loops are tight, and the impact is immediate. Our team is small, highly driven, and deeply product-oriented. We work closely with users, move fast, and take ownership across everything we do. If you’re excited about building teams from first principles, partnering closely with our exec team, and helping shape how AI shows up in the real world—we’d love to work with you. ROLE OVERVIEW As the founding recruiter, you’ll play a foundational role in building Navigate’s engineering and operations teams. This is a full-cycle role with high ownership—you’ll partner directly with hiring managers to define roles, build pipelines, and close exceptional talent. This isn’t a plug-and-play recruiting role. You’ll help shape how we hire, what great looks like, and how we attract builders who want to work at the edge of AI and real-world applications. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Partner closely with hiring managers and technical leaders to deeply understand hiring needs and shape role definitions * Build and manage pipelines of high-quality technical talent across engineering, AI/ML, and product-facing roles * Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts—from sourcing and outreach through closing and offer negotiation * Craft compelling narratives that resonate with top-tier candidates, especially passive talent * Act as a strategic partner to hiring managers, advising on market trends, compensation, and hiring strategy * Continuously improve recruiting processes, tooling, and candidate experience as we scale * Maintain strong data hygiene and leverage tools like Ashby to track and optimize funnel performance * Help define and raise the bar for talent across the company * Contribute to building Navigate’s brand as a place where top engineers and operators want to work WHAT YOU BRING We’re looking for someone who thrives in early-stage environments and enjoys building from scratch. You might be a strong fit if you: * Have 6+ years of experience in full-cycle technical recruiting, ideally in fast-moving or early-stage companies * Have a track record of hiring strong engineers or technical talent in competitive markets * Build trust quickly with both candidates and hiring partners, and operate as a true advisor * Are highly proactive and comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end * Have strong judgment on talent and know how to identify high-signal candidates * Communicate clearly and thoughtfully, especially with senior or hard-to-reach candidates * Are detail-oriented and care about both candidate experience and operational rigor * Stay close to the market—understanding where top talent is and what motivates them * NICE TO HAVE * Experience recruiting for AI/ML, AR/VR, or product-focused engineering roles * Experience working closely with founders or executive teams * Familiarity with Ashby or similar ATS tools * Experience helping define recruiting strategy at an early-stage company WHY JOIN US * Be a foundational part of building the team and culture from the ground up * Work directly with leadership on some of the most important decisions in the company * Help shape a product that brings cutting-edge AI into real-world workflows * Join a small, high-ownership team where your impact is immediate and visible * Competitive compensation and meaningful equity
