You'll be the engineering owner of customer success. This means building the internal tools that help our sales team close deals,
setting up customer modules and data pipelines, and being directly responsible for whether prospects convert and customers expand.
You're the technical DRI for making customers successful with Sapien.
This is a customer-facing engineering role where you'll split time between building internal GTM tooling and hands-on customer
work. You'll have full-stack skills but use them in service of customer outcomes, not just product features.

THE ROLE You'll build features end-to-end for Sapien's core platform. This means taking a feature from design through frontend implementation, backend APIs, database changes, and agent integration. You own the full experience and make it work. This is role where you'll balance shipping new capabilities with keeping the platform stable and performant. You'll work directly with customers, see how they use what you build, and iterate based on real feedback. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Build features that make Sapien a daily driver for finance teams. Design experiences that pull users in every day because the platform is proactively surfacing insights, catching issues before they become problems, and making their work faster and smarter. * Design interfaces that make complex agent operations understandable and controllable for finance teams who aren't technical. * Implement human-in-the-loop systems where users can give feedback, correct agent mistakes, and teach the system about their specific business processes. Build the feedback loops that make agents smarter over time. * Make product and technical decisions: what should this feature do, how should the UI work, what's the right database schema, which technologies should we use. You're not just implementing specs, you're figuring out what to build. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Comfort with modern web technologies: React, TypeScript, Python, SQL, and common backend frameworks. You don't need to be an expert in everything, but you should be able to work across the stack. * Product mindset. You think about user experience, not just implementation. You've iterated on features based on how people actually use them. * Ability to work with ambiguity. You can take a rough problem statement, talk to the right people, and figure out what actually needs to be built. * CS degree or equivalent experience. We care most about what you've built. THE ROLE You'll build the AI agent capabilities that power Sapien's autonomous finance operations. This means designing novel architectures for reasoning over complex financial data, implementing verifiable and observable agent workflows, and building systems that learn and adapt to each company's unique operations. This is a research-meets-product role. You'll work on cutting-edge agent capabilities—from observability and library learning to semantic search and multi-modal parsing—and ship them directly into production for customers. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Design and implement agent architectures that enable observability, human-in-the-loop verification, and precise context control across complex financial workflows. * Build library learning systems that reduce LLM dependencies by learning reusable patterns for planning, code generation, and data localization from customer interactions. * Create graph-based company representations and develop efficient search methods using embeddings, semantic clustering, and custom retrieval strategies. * Build multi-modal parsers that unify diverse financial data sources (Excel, ERPs, CRMs) into coherent, queryable schemas that agents can reason over. * Design benchmarking and evaluation suites that quantify Sapien's accuracy, reliability, and business impact across different customer workflows. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Strong algorithmic thinking. Demonstrated through ML research, competitive programming, mathematics, or building novel systems from scratch. * Experience with modern agent frameworks, LLMs, and AI systems: fine-tuning, retrieval augmentation, tool use, or agentic architectures. * Comfort working end-to-end: from implementing research ideas and prototyping architectures to deploying production systems and iterating on real customer feedback. THE ROLE Every wave of enterprise software created a new kind of operator. On-prem had implementation managers. SaaS had solutions engineers. Agentic AI demands something different: people who don't install software, they deploy intelligence. They rewire how finance teams think, work, and decide. That's this role. You'll be the bridge between Sapien and the finance orgs we serve, dropping into customer environments, learning their workflows cold, and redesigning them around our agents. But deployment is only half of it. You'll sit at the center of the company: feeding what you learn in the field back to sales, shaping the product roadmap with engineering, and giving the founders ground truth on where the market is going. Part strategist, part operator, part finance translator. The connective tissue between customers, sales, product, and leadership. If you've ever watched a finance team grind through a process and thought "there has to be a better way", we built this role for you. WHAT YOU’LL OWN Customer Deployments * Own customer implementations end-to-end: scoping, workflow mapping, deployment, training, and optimization. You are the reason a customer succeeds. * Embed with finance teams (CFOs, FP&A, analysts) to learn how they actually operate, then transform those workflows onto Sapien. * Build the deployment playbook from zero: repeatable frameworks for onboarding, integrating, and scaling Sapien across organizations. Cross-Functional Impact & Strategy * Arm the sales team with what you learn in the field, including real customer pain points, objections, success stories, and the language CFOs actually use, so every deal benefits from every deployment. * Work directly with engineering to set the product roadmap: translate real finance workflows into product requirements, stress-test new features, and push for what customers actually need. * Spot patterns across deployments that shape where the product and GTM motion go next. * Partner with the founders on customer materials, internal strategy, and high-priority initiatives. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Finance and operating background. 2–6 years in banking, PE, consulting, or a similarly analytical role. You know your way around financial statements, operating metrics, and corporate finance. * Strong in front of customers. You can hold a room with a CFO. You listen more than you talk, build trust quickly, and turn vague concerns into concrete next steps. * You build systems, not just deliverables. When you solve a problem, you make sure it stays solved. You leave behind processes, not just outputs. * AI-native. You use AI tools every day. You pick up new tech faster than anyone around you and you can't help but show others how to use it too. * High agency. You don't wait for a brief.
