Sapien is rethinking how finance teams operate in the age of AI. We’re building toward an autonomous CFO—systems that run company
financials end-to-end. Our platform analyzes complex financial data in real time to increase decision cadence, prevent costly
mistakes, and surface value. Sapien has caught multi-million-dollar errors, saved thousands of jobs, and returned significant
dollars to customers’ bottom lines.
We partner with traditional businesses—manufacturing, healthcare, restaurants, and large enterprises—to deeply understand and
automate their financial workflows. We’re HQ’d by Madison Square Park in NYC and backed by General Catalyst, Neo, and top
operators from Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Ramp, and Stripe (over $9M raised).
You'll build features end-to-end for Sapien's core platform. This means taking a feature from design through frontend
implementation, backend APIs, database changes, and agent integration. You own the full experience and make it work.
This is role where you'll balance shipping new capabilities with keeping the platform stable and performant. You'll work directly
with customers, see how they use what you build, and iterate based on real feedback.

WHO WE ARE Sapien is rethinking how finance teams operate in the age of AI. We’re building toward an autonomous CFO—systems that run company financials end-to-end. Our platform analyzes complex financial data in real time to increase decision cadence, prevent costly mistakes, and surface value. Sapien has caught multi-million-dollar errors, saved thousands of jobs, and returned significant dollars to customers’ bottom lines. We partner with traditional businesses—manufacturing, healthcare, restaurants, and large enterprises—to deeply understand and automate their financial workflows. We’re HQ’d by Madison Square Park in NYC and backed by General Catalyst, Neo, and top operators from Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Ramp, and Stripe (over $9M raised). THE ROLE You'll be the engineering owner of customer success. This means building the internal tools that help our sales team close deals, setting up customer modules and data pipelines, and being directly responsible for whether prospects convert and customers expand. You're the technical DRI for making customers successful with Sapien. This is a customer-facing engineering role where you'll split time between building internal GTM tooling and hands-on customer work. You'll have full-stack skills but use them in service of customer outcomes, not just product features. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Build internal tools that accelerate our sales motion. Create tools for generating customer demos, automated systems for onboarding new customers, and interfaces that help the sales team understand technical blockers. * Own customer module setup from technical sale through production. Upload and validate customer data, configure workflows for their specific business processes, build custom integrations when needed, and ensure the platform works correctly for their use case. * Build and maintain integrations with customer systems. Connect to ERPs, CRMs, accounting software, and proprietary internal tools. Handle authentication, data syncing, schema mapping, and edge cases that come from integrating with messy real-world systems. * Be the DRI for customer performance. Monitor accuracy and reliability for each customer, debug issues when they arise, optimize slow queries or workflows, and ensure customers are seeing measurable value from the platform. * Design product features that turn pilots into successful deployments. You'll see firsthand what's blocking customer success and work with the product team to prioritize features that unlock expansion, prevent churn, and make the platform work for more use cases. * Identify patterns across customers that should become platform capabilities. Turn one-off integrations into reusable connectors, custom scripts into product features, and manual setup work into automated onboarding flows. Make customer operations scalable. * Build tooling that reduces friction in the customer journey. Create systems for data validation, integration testing, module templates, knowledge management, and monitoring so we can serve more customers. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Full-stack engineering experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and SQL. You can build tools quickly and translate customer problems into production solutions. * Customer-facing experience or strong interest in working directly with customers. You're comfortable on calls, can explain technical concepts to non-technical people, and enjoy problem-solving with users. * Bias toward pragmatic solutions over perfect architecture. Shipping something that works beats over-engineering. * Ownership mentality for customer outcomes. You care whether customers succeed, not just whether your code works. * Ability to operate with ambiguity. Customer problems are messy and unique. You can assess what's needed, figure out the right solution, and execute without detailed specs. HOW YOU WORK (VALUES WE CARE ABOUT) * Adaptability: You switch contexts constantly. One hour you're on a customer call, the next you're building foundational tooling for customer onboarding. You handle the variety well and bring the same technical rigor whether you're building customer-facing tools or solving one-off data issues. * Ownership: You're responsible for customer success. If a customer isn't getting value, you don't wait for someone else to fix it. You dig in, figure out what's wrong, and make it right. * Opinionated: You develop strong views on what customers actually need versus what they ask for. You push back on requests that won't drive value and propose better solutions based on what you've seen work. * Mission-driven: You're energized by making customers successful with AI. You connect your technical work directly to whether customers renew and expand, and you care about their business outcomes. * Collaborative excellence: You're the bridge between customers and the product team. You share insights about customer needs, help prioritize features that matter, and make the whole company better at serving customers.
WHO WE ARE Sapien is rethinking how finance teams operate in the age of AI. We're building toward an autonomous CFO—systems that run company financials end-to-end. Our platform analyzes complex financial data in real time to increase decision cadence, prevent costly mistakes, and surface value. Sapien has caught multi-million-dollar errors, saved thousands of jobs, and returned significant dollars to customers' bottom lines. We partner with traditional businesses—manufacturing, healthcare, restaurants, and large enterprises—to deeply understand and automate their financial workflows. We're HQ'd by Madison Square Park in NYC and backed by General Catalyst, Neo, and top operators from Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Ramp, and Stripe (over $9M raised). THE ROLE We're hiring our Founding Product Marketer to own how the market understands Sapien. Finance teams are drowning in AI noise. Your job is to cut through it: sharpen our positioning, build the narrative that makes CFOs lean in, and arm every customer-facing conversation with messaging that lands. You'll sit at the intersection of product, sales, and the founders. You'll take what engineering is building and turn it into language buyers act on. You'll take what sales hears in the field and turn it into sharper positioning. And you'll own the launches, assets, and narrative that compound as we scale. This is a zero-to-one seat: no playbook, no existing brand machine, full ownership of how Sapien shows up in the market. WHAT YOU'LL DO POSITIONING & NARRATIVE * Own Sapien's core messaging and positioning: who we're for, what we replace, and why now. * Build and refine buyer personas across CFOs, FP&A, and finance leaders, grounded in real customer conversations. * Shape the company narrative with the founders, from website copy to investor-facing materials to category POV. LAUNCHES & ENABLEMENT * Own the product launch process end-to-end: what we ship, how we frame it, and how the market hears about it. * Arm the sales team with the assets that win deals: pitch decks, battlecards, one-pagers, case studies, and competitive intel. * Turn customer wins into proof: case studies and stories that make the next deal easier than the last. MARKET INTELLIGENCE * Develop a deep understanding of finance workflows, the modern finance tech stack, and the competitive landscape. * Feed structured signal back to product and leadership: how buyers talk, what objections recur, and where the category is heading. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * 4–7+ years in B2B SaaS marketing, ideally at a startup or high-growth company where you were a generalist doing the work, not just managing it. * Full-stack marketing execution. You've personally written blog posts, run ad campaigns, designed assets, pitched press, and built a content calendar. You're not specialized in just one channel, rather working across the board. * Strong design sense. You can produce polished visuals in Figma, Canva, or similar tools. You don't need to be a professional designer, but your work should look like it came from one. * Writing that lands. You can write a case study that a CFO forwards to their team, a LinkedIn post that gets shared, and ad copy that converts across different voices * Data-literate. You understand pipeline attribution, CAC, ad spend ROI, and content performance metrics. You make decisions based on what the numbers say. * Comfortable moving fast in ambiguity. There's no playbook yet. You'll build it, run it, measure it, and iterate. HOW YOU WORK (VALUES WE CARE ABOUT) * AI-native. You're energized by applying AI to transform how businesses run. * Ambiguity-shaping. You turn nebulous problems into a first pass and drive to resolution. * Extreme ownership. You identify what's next—and do it. If you say it, it gets done. * Speed & hustle. You bias to action and move with urgency without sacrificing quality.
