Client Lead – Fund Operations to Embankment, Stockholm
On-site with one dedicated client · Team lead role
At Embankment, we're redefining how fund services are delivered to the alternative investment industry. Trusted by 75+ AIFMs and
300+ funds across Scandinavia and Luxembourg, we combine deep fund expertise with modern technology to turn complexity into
clarity.
We're now looking for an exceptional Client Lead – Fund Operations – someone who wants full ownership of a single, dedicated
client relationship. You'll be embedded at the client's office 2–3 days per week, lead a small team of specialists, and become the
most trusted person in the room when it comes to their fund operations.
If you love being close to clients, take pride in flawless delivery, and lead by example – this role was built for you.
About the role
This is not a traditional service role. As Client Lead, you will have complete end-to-end responsibility for one dedicated client
– acting as their primary point of contact and trusted operational partner across all aspects of fund administration and
accounting. You will own the relationship, the quality, and the team behind it. You'll be on-site at the client's office 2–3 days
a week, deeply embedded in their world. You'll lead a team of two to three specialists at Embankment – motivating them,
structuring their work, and ensuring every single deliverable leaves your desk at the highest standard. You are the working
leader: hands-on in the detail and accountable for the big picture.
You will develop into the foremost internal expert on your client – knowing their fund structures, investor base, regulatory
requirements, and operational nuances better than anyone. You will actively leverage AI tools and digital innovation to
continuously raise the quality bar and sharpen how work gets done.
Main responsibilities
– End-to-end fund administration for one dedicated client – accounting, drawdowns, distributions, capital calls, NAV calculations
and financial reporting
– Act as the client's primary point of contact, present on-site 2–3 days per week, building deep trust and a partnership-level
relationship
– Lead and develop a team of 2–3 fund operations specialists – setting direction, structuring workloads, coaching performance, and
ensuring perfect deliverables every time
– Become the internal expert on your client – their fund structures, investor base, reporting needs and operational nuances
– Manage and review complex fund processes including NAV reconciliations, waterfall calculations, investor allocations, and
regulatory reporting
– Coordinate with Embankment's cross-functional teams on behalf of your client – compliance, legal, AML/KYC, technology and
onboarding
– Accounting and reporting for the client's management company and related entities
– Drive continuous improvement – proactively identify opportunities to apply AI, automation, and digital tools to raise efficiency
and quality
– Contribute to the broader Embankment team: share expertise, build best practices, and help shape how the firm scales
About you
You're a confident, ownership-minded professional with a background in fund operations, fund accounting, or alternative investment
administration. You have the expertise to be a true specialist, the instincts to lead a team, and the personality to become your
client's most trusted partner. We're looking for someone who combines technical excellence with genuine relationship hunger. You
don't just want to deliver good work – you want to be indispensable to your client and exceptional to your team.
– Extensive experience in fund operations, fund accounting, or alternative investment administration (private equity, venture
capital, real estate, or similar)
– A track record of owning complex client relationships or senior operational responsibilities independently
– Deep knowledge of fund accounting: NAV calculations, drawdowns, distributions, waterfalls, investor reporting, and regulatory
filings
– Experience leading or mentoring others – you know how to motivate a team, structure their work, and hold quality high
– Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with modern fund administration platforms
– Clear, professional communication – in English and ideally Swedish or Danish
– Genuinely passionate about client relationships – you find energy in being close to the client, not in staying behind the scenes
– A working leader – you motivate, structure and develop your team while staying hands-on in the work yourself
– Obsessed with quality – you take personal pride in perfect deliverables and never cut corners
– An expert in the making – you want to know your client's business inside and out
– Genuinely excited by AI and digital tools – you actively seek smarter ways of working and embrace change
– A developer at heart – committed to growing yourself, your team and the client relationship over time
