What you’ll do 💥

At Hemnet, our CRM and marketing technology stack is at the heart of how we engage with millions of home buyers, sellers, and real

estate agents. Your primary mission will be to own, build, and scale our CRM ecosystem, ensuring seamless data flows, rock-solid

APIs, and high-performing integrations.

In this role, communication and technical depth go hand in hand. You won't just write elegant code; you will be the key translator

between technical systems and commercial strategy.

• CRM Architecture & Integrations at Scale: Lead the technical implementation, database architecture, and API integrations for

our CRM ecosystem (specifically working with platforms like Customer.io). You’ll build resilient data pipelines that process

high volumes of real-time user signals.

• Build & Scale Backend Services: Design, evolve, and maintain production-grade microservices using Node.js and GraphQL, ensuring

high availability, security, and speed.

• Be the Bridge Between Tech & Marketing: Act as the vital communication link between Engineering and Marketing/Commercial teams.

You excel at translating business needs into modern technical architecture, and explaining complex backend concepts to

non-technical stakeholders.

• AI-First Engineering: Actively leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) in your daily workflow to accelerate

development, optimize architecture, and solve complex problems faster.

• Collaborate & Mentor: Drive technical standard methodologies, conduct thorough code reviews, and mentor team members in an

open, empathetic engineering culture.

Who you are 🤩

You are a seasoned software developer with a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in how data drives customer

engagement. You enjoy heavy backend coding, complex system architecture, and taking ownership of how data moves across an

enterprise ecosystem.

• Proven CRM Experience: Solid experience working with, integrating, or building architectures around modern CRM systems or

Customer Engagement Platforms (experience with Customer.io or similar event-driven CRM/marketing automation tools is a huge

plus).

• Heavy Backend Expertise: Strong hands-on engineering experience with Node.js and frameworks like Nest.js, alongside experience

designing resilient REST/GraphQL APIs and event-driven data flows.

• Mastery of AI Tools: AI is an integrated part of how you work. You have proven experience using modern AI tooling (such as

Claude, Copilot, or similar) to write, test, and refactor code, as well as to architect solutions.

• Exceptional Communication Skills: You enjoy working cross-functionally. You love being the person who brings Tech and Marketing

together, making sure both sides understand the why, the how, and the technical possibilities.

• Database & Data Architecture Skills: Comfort with handling complex data modeling, relational/non-relational databases, and

real-time data pipelines.

Hi! My name is Staffan, and I’ll be your new manager. I’ve been at Hemnet since 2019 and since last year working as Engineering

Manager for a domain called Consumers. Our teams are currently working on many new and important areas for Hemnet – including

personalization and smarter search features (including several initiatives utilizing AI to deliver next level user experience).

My leadership style is listening, transparent, accessible, and supportive, while also challenging you to take your next step.
