Description/Purpose
Middle School Teacher for Science grades 6 through 9.
Duties/Responsibilities
Teaching of Grades 6-9 Science.
Contributing to the development and implementation of the Science curriculum.
Communicating regularly with parents.
Be an active and contributing member of the School’s faculty.
Participating in the full range of professional activities in the school.
Actively contributing to the operational needs of the school.
Fulfilling other assigned roles such as advisory and duties.
Required Qualifications, Education and Experience
Qualifications in the area of Middle School Science.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Science.
At least 3 years of teaching experience in Science.
Preferred experience with IBMYP curriculum (Middle Years Programme).
Preferred additional qualifications in other academic disciplines.
Excellent communication skills.
The ability to establish a positive rapport with adults and students.
The ability to work effectively in a team.
A pleasant and friendly personality.
The ability to function effectively under pressure.
The ability to show initiative and work independently.

This is a unique, combined 100% position where you will spend 50% of your time running and developing our school library, and 50% working as a cover teacher and within our Fritids (for younger students) and Junior Club (for older students) programs.Your Role & Responsibilities In this combined role, you get the best of both worlds: academic leadership in the library and relationship-building during recreational hours. School Librarian (50%): - Library Leadership: Take ownership of the library space, manage the cataloging/lending system (Quria), and handle media acquisitions that spark a lifelong love for reading in both English and Swedish. - Reading Promotion: Drive literacy initiatives, book clubs, read-a-thons, and storytelling sessions tailored to different age groups. - MIB (Media and Information Literacy): Support teachers by instructing students—particularly in middle school—on research skills, source criticism (källkritik), and safe digital navigation. - Digitalization: Continue the digitalization of our library media to ensure it is a modern, accessible hub for learning. Cover and Fritids / Junior Club Staff (50%): - Student Engagement: Plan and lead meaningful, safe, and fun recreational activities for our students after lessons. - Bilingual Environment: Actively use both English and Swedish to support students' language development in an informal setting. - Social & Emotional Support: Act as a strong, visible mentor, fostering a safe and orderly environment where every child feels seen and included.Who Are We Looking For? Requirements (Qualifications): - A degree in Library and Information Science (Biblioteks- och informationsvetenskap) or equivalent qualification. - Fluency in English and Swedish (both written and spoken), as you will operate daily in our bilingual school environment. - A clear copy of your police record check (utdrag ur belastningsregistret) will be required prior to employment. Bladins International School of Malmö (BISM) is an IB Continuum School located in central Malmö.
