Job Description Senior Function Development Engineer within the Thermal Management and Hydraulics area for xEV powertrains and vehicles. Your main responsibility will be to work with the development and implementation of our new inhouse application software using Embedded Coder instead of TargetLink. The work scope within the group includes thermal energy coordination between the different elements of a xEV powertrain and comfort of the passenger compartment. This includes controlling the heating and cooling of the combustion engine, e-machine, transmission, power electronics, battery and cabin. We are responsible for the complete process from requirement breakdown to final calibration in vehicle, which means that the team consists of a mix of calibration engineers and function developers. Depending on your background and interest the scope could also include supporting with function development of our current SW and/or calibration and verification activities on engine rig or in vehicle to fulfill the attribute targets of the powertrain and vehicle. You will also support with system design with future products for a variety of applications to different customers. Function development work will be carried out mainly from our office at PVV. Calibration related activities will be performed both from PVV, in vehicle and/or in a test cell. Testing may also be carried out in locations other than Gothenburg and in climates that are not found in the immediate area. We are currently seeking a talented senior Embedded Developer to join the embedded development team in Stockholm, focused on firmware engineering from concept to final release. Work tasks Software & Architecture Design: Develop robust embedded software in C/C++. Hardware-Proximate Development: Write drivers, handle analog signals, and implement functionalities in real-time operating systems (RTOS) and Linux environments. Protocols & Peripherals: Troubleshoot and optimize software under tight memory constraints, interfacing with peripherals such as analog data acquisition, motor control (PID), USB PD, SPI, and I2C. Wireless & Certification: Work with radio technology, Bluetooth/BLE, and other wireless standards, supporting regulatory measurements and compliance testing (e.g., FCC, ETSI). Project & Client Interaction: Drive feasibility studies, evaluate emerging technical standards, and translate complex client requirements into practical technical solutions. Testing & Automation: Develop test environments, including automated production testing and Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups within CI/CD pipelines using Git. We are looking for Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Development. Strong proficiency in embedded C programming and a solid understanding of C++. Approximately 5+ years of experience. Proficiency in Python (e.g., for testing, scripting, or automation purposes). Experience with RTOS (experience with Zephyr RTOS is a plus), Linux environments, and a foundational understanding of microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, IMXRT). Fluent English, both written and spoken (Swedish is highly advantageous). You'll sit close to the business, taking questions end-to-end: shaping the metric, modelling the data in dbt, running the analysis, and making the recommendation. Help shape how the data team operates as we scale: standards, tooling, ways of working. What you'll need Strong proficiency in SQL and Python. Solid grasp of data modelling and what it takes to build analytical work that is reliable and trusted. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to influence decisions through data storytelling, including pushing back when the data doesn't support what someone wants to do. Genuine depth in at least one of the following, with competence across the rest and curiosity to grow: Data modelling and analytics engineering (dbt, dimensional modelling, semantic layers, self-service) Experimentation and causal inference (A/B test design, quasi-experiments, statistical rigour) Machine learning and applied data science (forecasting, prediction, segmentation, evaluation) Product analytics and metric design (funnels, cohorts, adoption frameworks, North Star metrics) Nice to have Experience in a product-led or SaaS environment, ideally B2B. Hands-on experience with our stack: Snowflake, dbt, Hex, Dagster. Prior experience as an early data hire at a fast-growing company, i.e. you've built the muscle, not inherited it.
