IN SHORT: WE ARE SEEKING AN INTERNATIONALLY SEASONED, HIGHLY SPECIALIZED SENIOR LEAD - PATTERN ENGINEER TO SPEARHEAD THE TECHNICAL LIFECYCLE OF OUR GLOBAL PRODUCT LINES FROM CONCEPT TO PRODUCTION. THIS STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP ROLE REQUIRES AN ELITE MASTERY OF BOTH DIGITAL AND MANUAL PATTERN ARCHITECTURE, COMBINED WITH A PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF MANAGING GARMENT ENGINEERS WHILE WORKING CLOSELY WITH DESIGN, TECHNICAL DESIGN, AND SUPPLIERS. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL DIRECTLY LEAD, MANAGE, AND SCALE OUR INTERNAL TEAM OF PATTERN ENGINEERS. THIS POSITION ACTS AS THE DEFINITIVE GLOBAL TECHNICAL AUTHORITY FOR PATTERN ENGINEERING - ARCHITECTING SCALABLE FITTING SYSTEMS, OPTIMIZING CROSS-FUNCTIONAL 2D/3D WORKFLOWS, AND DRIVING THE PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF THEIR DIRECT REPORTS TO REDUCE DEVELOPMENT TIMELINES AND ENSURE FLAWLESS GLOBAL FIT CONSISTENCY. YOUR MISSION: * Lead, manage, and evaluate a dedicated internal team of Pattern Engineers. * Design and execute internal training on advanced fitting techniques, complex pattern adjustments, and Gerber Accumark instruction. * Manage team workflow distribution and capacity against dynamic seasonal product creation calendars. * Establish global pattern standards and technical production standards relative to fit and quality benchmarks. * Spearhead high-profile franchise updates and complex special projects, translating technical sketches into scalable, production-ready patterns. * Implement and maintain robust systems for fitting processes, digital pattern management, and PLM pipelines to improve sample approval rates. * Lead high-level fit sessions on live models, acting as the ultimate cross-functional expert between Design, Sourcing, and Materials. * Drive the integration of 2D digital pattern making with 3D prototyping software (CLO/Browzwear) to optimize fabric efficiency. YOUR STORY: * A minimum of 10–12+ years of progressive experience in pattern engineering and technical apparel design within premier global brands.international vendor communication. Knowledge of a Swiss national language (German, French, or Italian) is considered a strong asset. * A degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Engineering, or a related field. SAEKI - MANUFACTURING AT SOFTWARE SPEED Europe's defense industrial base cannot respond at the speed modern conflict requires. Legacy suppliers operate on month-long timelines. Tribal knowledge is retiring. Supply chains are fragile. SAEKI is building the operating system for autonomous factories — the infrastructure that lets Europe manufacture mission-critical components at software speed. You'll build the customer-facing portal and factory operating system features that connect our customers to our factory. When a critical defense program needs parts by next week, your code is how they get them. THE ROLE As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on our Platform team, you'll own development of our customer portal and ERP/MES systems — the interface between our Manufacturing Intelligence stack and the humans who use it. You'll architect features from customer CAD upload to real-time order tracking to operator work instructions. Based at our HQ in Zurich (Oerlikon), you'll build: Customer Portal: CAD upload, automated quoting, order management, secure document exchange, real-time production tracking. or Factory OS (ERP/MES): Job scheduling, work order management, operator interfaces, production dashboards, quality workflows. Note: You do not need defense or manufacturing experience to excel in this role. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a proven track record of shipping production-ready applications. * Technical Excellence: Strong command of TypeScript, React, and modern backend patterns (Go, Python, or Rust). Comfortable with PostgreSQL optimization and API design. * End-to-End Ownership: You own features from database schema to API design to frontend implementation. You don't wait for someone else to handle "the other half." * Technical Agency: Comfortable making decisions with minimal supervision. You have a passion for building interfaces that solve complex user workflows. * First Principles Thinker: You reason by physics and economics, not analogy. * Industrial Grit: Comfortable spending time on the shop floor in Germany to see how your software interacts precision machinery. * Maniacal Urgency: You understand that speed is our only edge. You thrive in the "chaos-to-order" phase of a startup. * On-site: Ability to work in-person at our HQ in Zurich, Switzerland. WHAT WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR - Engineers who only work on frontend or only work on backend. You must be comfortable across the full stack. - People who need detailed specs before they start building. You'll work directly with users and define the solution yourself. - Developers who ship code and move on. You own the outcome — not just the PR. - Engineers who are uncomfortable with ambiguity or rapidly changing priorities. WHAT WE OFFER * Mission: Rebuild the industrial sovereignty of the West. Your work directly enables the production of mission-critical hardware for defense and space. * Total Ownership: High-stakes autonomy in your domain. You own both the problems and the solutions — and have the authority to execute. * The Environment: Access to a 5,000m² state-of-the-art facility featuring 5-axis CNCs, industrial robots, and industrial 3D printers. Your work runs on real hardware from day one. * The Team: "Special Forces" model. Everyone senior, everyone ships. No politics, no bureaucracy. Direct feedback, high standards. * Compensation: Competitive salary + meaningful equity. * Location: Zurich HQ or Factory ONE in Munich, depending on role. Hybrid options available where applicable. APPLY * Resume: Focus on systems you've built and owned. * GitHub/Portfolio: Show us work you're proud of — code, machines, or production systems. * Cover letter: Why this mission? Why now? What would you build first?
